FALL SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,300 AT THE AICP-END

358 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Thanks to Adam Schiff and his fellow Democrats, we now realize what a nest of snakes government service is
San Luis Obispo, CA 93403, 11-13-2019 Wednesday:  Adam Schiff, chair of the House Intel Committee, began releasing redacted transcripts of his committee’s interactions with various Deep State operatives from the State Department and the National Security Council this past Monday.  From what we hear, it sounds like a load of cow manure piled high in the middle of an extremely hot summer.  All I can say is that if this is what surrounds our president- i.e., this nest of poisonous vipers- then it’s a wonder that Deep State hacks haven’t launched a coup before the one we are now witnessing.  Perhaps they have and we just weren’t aware of it?
The more we learn about the various ‘witnesses’ and ‘whistleblowers’ coming forward, the more we uncover the termites gobbling away at the House.  One must feel sympathy for President Trump as it is clear that almost everyone around him is a potential roadblock to his agenda, the one the American people elected him to enact.  All I can say is that it is extremely frightening and every freedom-loving American should find the things these Deep State operators are doing as a threat to our representational republic.
One of the big witnesses that Lying Adam Schiff parades about is the terminated ambassador to the Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch[i].  This woman has been whining and crying about how she was unfairly targeted by President Trump and his special envoy, Rudy Giuliani, and it’s one sob story after another, one tear-jerker and then some.  The woman acts as though she has some hereditary claim on the job.  What the heck?  Neither she nor Chargé d’ Affaires William B. Taylor Jr. has a right to ANY government position.
Here is the deal: anyone nominated or appointed to serve as an ambassador does so at the pleasure of the president.  Period.  There are no exceptions.  Now, ambassadors generally have to undergo Senate confirmation but once dispatched to their post, the ambassador again serves at the pleasure of the commander-in-chief.
If the president finds the conduct of an ambassador inimical to his (or one day her) policies, the president can recall the ambassador and nominate another to take his or her post.
An ambassador can be a foreign service officer or they can be a political appointee.  Generally, the president will nominate someone with experience of the nation to which, he or she is being assigned who will then undergo confirmation in the U.S. Senate.  Likewise will a political appointee who is being given an ambassadorship to a lesser nation.
Careerists[ii] serve a three-year stint while political appointees tender their resignations upon the election of a new president.  Either way, these men and women represent our country and if the president determines they are either slacking in their jobs or actively working against his (or one day, her) interests, the president can recall them and appoint someone else to take their place.
So, we have Marie Yovanovitch, weeping and wailing about how President Trump and Rudy Giuliani had ‘it out for her’ and were ‘seeking to undermine her.’  What the heck?  If she was running an operation counter to what the president wanted, then she was at risk of losing her job as she should.
Let’s say, I bring in a new sous chef and send him to the second store.  Let’s say I express fully what I want him to do, the menus I want prepared, the specials of the day, how I want him to treat and manage the staff.
Of course, I would give him the leeway to make some decisions on the fly but anything of any magnitude, I tell him I want him to bring it to me or my hubby for approval.  Let’s say the new sous chef actively begins running the place like it’s HIS operation.  Let’s say I find out and determine I need to fire him.
Now who has the right to do this?  My husband and me.  The sous chef is an employee, OUR employee, and I gave him directions, both written and verbal, that this is what we expect you to do and should there be any problems, you will get in touch with us so we can give you our express approval or disproval.  Failing to do that, you get terminated.  Do it right, you will get rewarded with salary increases and additional benefits.
So, let’s say the new sous chef given charge of the second restaurant decides to transform our French cuisine into Mexican cuisine.  Would that not make him eligible for termination?  You bet the heck it would and since California is a right-to-work state, meaning an employee can get fired for ANY reason just as he or she can quit for ANY reason, if we deem the worker has been undermining our vision, our goals for our operation, we can fire him or her on the spot.
Now, the employee has every right to go to the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement[iii] (aka the California Labor Relations Board or “Labor Board”) and snivel and cry about his ‘wrongful termination.’  Fine, do it.  We also have a right to present our case with all the evidence we have amassed and I would bet heavily that the DLSE will weigh in our favor, not his.  It is what it is.
Of course, foreign service is different from food service.  Same principles exist, however, which means if Ambassador Yovanovitch was heading upstream instead of down and President Trump did not approve, she’s out the window, gone.  Ba-bam!
This may not mean her government service ends but she could find herself dispatched to Bhutan- a place where we have NO representative- again to serve at the president’s pleasure.  Plain and simple.
Please, join me back here tomorrow as we will continue with more.

Above, you see the caricature created for me by Bakersfield street artist, the amazing Simone.  We have gone this route because of increasing threats against the blog and its members.  I began my career as a young chef in the kitchen back in 1975, earlier than that.  I apprenticed underneath my father and spent six years working for him in his British-Irish restaurant in Fresno, California.  I later moved to Frazier Park, California, and spent quite a few years working in the area and that is where I met Stinkbug.  Anyhow, I am now working at a country club over on the coast near San Luis Obispo.  Please note: this is my pen name and any photos of me are simply outdated photos adopted for maintaining my privacy.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Argent released their next and final effort as a band, “Counterpoints,” on October 10, 1975 and featured the same lineup as their preceding effort: Rod Argent (all keyboards/vocals), John Grimaldi (guitars/vocals), John Verity (guitars/lead vocals), Jim Rodford (bass/vocals), and Bob Henrit (drums and percussion).  For a final effort, this album was a hot one featuring some extremely advance jazzy-rock-and-roll.  Sad that they decided to throw in the towel but the 1970s proved to be difficult for many bands that had evolved out of the 1960s and sought to move onward.  Unfortunately, disco was selling loads of albums more so than rock bands were.  We hope you will check it out.
