BLOG POST #3,258 AT THE AICP-END

400 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Bernie Sanders is coming to Bakersfield, California, TOMORROW
Bakersfield, CA 93304, 10-02-2019 Wednesday:  Wow.  Tomorrow, Democratic-Socialist candidate for the 2020 presidential nomination of the Democratic Party- Bernie Sanders- is coming to California State University Bakersfield- CSUB- to speak to the assembled throng of students, leftists, and undoubtedly illegal aliens.  I wish I could get in to hear the old coot tell us how he’s going to ‘soak the rich while NOT raising middle class tax rates (yeah, right) but attempting to get close is going to be extremely difficult if not impossible.
As a Republican, I would love to smack his old head with a rotten head of lettuce but folks, I am just kidding as I am opposed to violence, unlike the Antifa filth clogging the streets of some cities.
Back to Bernie, there is NO way this old hypocrite is EVER going to win the nomination and I am sure the old POS knows this in his black heart.  Yet, he still goes through the motions as the ONLY way I think he could do it is if the candidate of choice does not have the Democratic National Convention locked up and he manages to win it via the floor fights of floor fights.
Sadly, those days have been long gone for quite a while now.  Back in the OLD DAYS, boys and girls, conventions were important and memorable pieces of Americana.  They were unlike the smooth events we now watch on TV as candidates who did not enter wearing the ‘unified belt’ (stealing from boxing) usually had to go against one another while attempting to win enough of the delegates so they could walk out the winner
Something else that mattered but only receives passing notice now is the platform and the individual ‘planks’ that went into it.  Sure, we hear the Dems are going to throw God out of the proceedings or will do this or do that but back in the day, the candidates had to promise what they were going to do and delegates either had to yay or nay the planks before they became part of the campaign.
Now, national conventions are all about the show- like professional wrestling which truly is not ‘wrestling’ in the Olympian sense but a show organized from start to finish by those putting the extravaganza on.  Candidates are told when to enter, where to stand, how to give their speeches for maximum effect, and the TV cameras film the proceedings as though they are doing a television show.  It is what it is.
I cannot see how the Democrats are going to unify their presidential and vice presidential candidates without undergoing the floor fight of floor fights unless the head of the DNC- foul-mouthed Tom Perez[i]- figures out some way by which, he can begin booting out the candidates at the bottom of the offal heap so they can end up with 3-5 at most.
Otherwise, this nonsensical farce is going to continue far too long, sapping candidates who could win of additional financial resources and competent campaign staff.  I mean, look at Kamala Harris[ii], she came on light gangbusters and then, once she lit into former vice president Joe Biden, her numbers plummeted to all-time lows after raising big bucks and recently had to reorganize her staff which should tell us something.
Now, as a Republican, I am not seeking to provide aid and comfort to the Democrats because what they are doing/attempting to do to President Donald J. Trump is aggravating, extremely aggravating.
However, I will tell them this: IF you don’t have it down to two candidates by the time the Democratic National Conventions convenes on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, you run the risk of undergoing another ‘1968,’ especially if Liz or Joe somehow gives Bernie the shaft.
I remember watching the Democrat National Convention in Chicago back in 1968[iii] and that was a nightmare as the militant Yippies and Weather Underground mobs battled with police outside the event while inside, there was a battle between moderates and far-left liberal-socialists.  Sound familiar?
You and I both know that Antifa is going to play a major role in the convention.  I suspect that from opening day Monday, July 13 through to closing ceremonies on Thursday, July 16, 2020, the Antifa mobs are going to be out there in the streets fighting with the cops as their predecessors did 52 years earlier.
The amount of violence that occurred at that convention remains unique in the annals of American history.  Hundreds suffered all manner of injuries in clashes with the Chicago cops and hundreds more were arrested for a variety of offenses- including terrorism and inciting violence.  I suspect that compared to what we will see at next year’s convention, what we saw in 1968 will be tame in comparison with what the Antifa scum roaming the streets is going to do.
Of course we know that violence serves their cause and so will never do it but I suspect that Milwaukee will not be prepared for what they are going to see.  I think it is going to be ugly, bloody, and as shocking as the shootings at the Kent State University in Ohio less than a year later on May 04, 1970.
Sadly, violence is becoming the norm in politics once again as it was during the Vietnam War.  The Dems can blame the Republicans and Donald J. Trump for the modern outbreak but I suspect the onus rests entirely on the shoulders of the Democrats and THEIR rhetoric.
Still, I would love to see Bernie Sanders tomorrow.  Perhaps some crazy stuff will happen there on the Admin Quad at CSUB at 2:30 P.M.  Perhaps I will get to see him after all.  I made sure I RSVP’d his campaign.  See you tomorrow.
(RSVP the Bernie campaign at https://act.berniesanders.com/event/event-bernie-sanders-attend/26035 to try to reserve a seat to see the Democratic-Socialist).

Due to the increasing number of threats and intrusions into our personal lives, we who blog here at the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day have engaged the services of local up-and-coming Bakersfield street artist, Simone, to do renderings of us as he sees fit.  I must say that he did an ‘okay job,’ it is what it is and I am fine with that.  Anyhow, I have spent my life working in professional food service and find it an immense joy to be able to come here 1-2 times a year and to share my political opinions and observations with me.  Thank you for joining me, we welcome everyone and invite them to bring their friends, family members, and coworkers/employees with them.

[i] Tom Perez seems to drop f-bombs wherever and whenever he finds the opportunity…and they talk about ‘Trump’s speech.’  Clean your own house Democrats before you criticize anyone else’s.
[ii] Once Kamala slammed Joe Biden over bussing and the former vice president’s comments regarding it, she began to drop like a stone to the bottom of the sea.  Others who have not fared well are little Julian Castro and the ignoramus, Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke.

Mountain released their next archival live album, “Official Live Mountain Bootleg Series #10- Canadian Festival Express, June 28, 1970” on June 12, 2006.  This album is a unique look back in time as the Festival Express features numerous American and Canadian rock and roll bands traveling across Canada and performing at various stops.  Since drugs were not allowed, the musicians spent their time drinking booze they bought at government liquor stores.  We love this album as it features the original band cranking out the rock in satisfactory sound quality.  Seek it out now and add it to your collection- you will be glad you did.
