SUMMER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,218 AT THE AICP-END

439 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

You know, a Joe-Tulsi ticket could be just what the doctor ordered…
Honolulu, HI 96790, 08-23-2019 Friday: My Mainland sistah, Chef Bea O’Malley, said in a post of hers 20 days ago that she thinks a ‘2020 Democratic Party presidential ticket of Joe Biden and Tulsi Gabbard would be a winner.’  I am inclined to agree,
Moreover, I think it would stand the best chance of driving Donald Trump from the White House while protecting his economic gains while restoring civility to American politics, something he seems to have a difficult time doing.
Of course, many of my fellow Democrats are now proclaiming that Elizabeth Warren, she of NO Native American heritage and who now is on an apology tour, as the one to bring us victory in 2020.  Sorry, NO matter where Liz stands in current polling, the only thing she is going to bring us is unwanted embarrassment, humiliation, and electoral disaster.  I thought we had enough of that what with Hillary going down in flames three years ago to want a second helping of it.
I think Tulsi is perhaps the best choice to be our presidential nominee although many people on the Mainland have dismissed our lone congresswoman as having any chance at all of winning.  I disagree, I think she has the BEST opportunity at displacing #45 because she is stable, she is smart, she is attractive, and she is skilled at politics, as well as being a veteran of the Hawai’i State National Guard, a veteran of two or more tours in the Middle East.  Who else can say that?
What’s more, I do like former vice president Joe Biden, I think he has a good chance at beating President Trump.  What I do not believe is that he will make it through one term, much less two but he does deserve to be president considering all the time he has served the Democratic Party and served it well.
To his critics, I say, ‘yes, Joe is a little bit slow, not as full of fire as is Donald Trump.  Yes, he makes gaffes, quite a few of them, in fact, but he represents stability, he demonstrates that one can cross the aisle and work with the other side- something millions of Americans crave- and that he represents someone who will restore the world order to one in which America is but a member nation in a brother-and-sisterhood of nations.  We want this so give it to us!’
This is what my friend and colleague, Chef Bea said on this very topic (of a Joe-Tulsi ticket):
“My hope is that IF this is not already going on [that Joe and Tulsi have come to an understanding), that it soon will be and that is an alliance between the former vice-president and the Hawaii congresswoman.  I think the two working in coordination with one another could knock out some of the bottom-feeding back-benchers and clear the way for an alliance that could get Joe elected president for one, possibly two terms and have Tulsi the vice-president and heir apparent.” (O’Malley, 03-August-2019)
We agree that many of our candidates are not good and that they will bring us failure.  I mean, if people found Hillary’s personality offsetting and unattractive, why would they swirl to support Liz or Kamala Harris or Amy Klobuchar or Kirsten Gillibrand?  These women screech, they rail, they moan, they groan, they pop their eyes, they grimace, to the point where men who are manly men like my hubby and not wimps cringe.  No one wants someone like that, no one wants a candidate who seems like a lolo tita
Like it or not, our party is in trouble.  It takes brave people to tell the truth.  The Democrats- like it or not- have made freshmen congresswomen the face of our party.  We now have Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib- two major embarrassments along with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (who it appears Nancy Pelosi has put in her place) and Ayanna Pressley causing us more trouble than any other freshmen squad ever has.  It is going to ruin our chances.
The fact that the two Muslim members of the so-called Squad are attacking one of our major allies, Israel, in the bigoted manner that they are, is going to bring more trouble down atop us than any other Democrat in office.  Even Bernie Sanders knows when to give it a rest but these two women are so full of themselves and believe their newfound fame (infamy to many) has made them untouchable.
I know if I lived in either of their districts, I would look closely at any primary challenger or I would look diligently at their Republican opponent because neither of them are fit to lead anyone, much less serve in Congress.  At least, it seems as though AOC has learned the lesson that one does not always have to run one’s mouth to serve their district.
I hope that before the next DNC presidential debates begin that we boot out all of the candidates who have no hope of winning in 2020.  I hope that Joe and Tulsi can support one another, and I trust that we can continue forcing the wrathful among our field to self-destruct.  People like Warren, Kamala, Cory Booker, Kirsten, and Julian Castro have no business whatsoever gumming up the works for the few who can indeed win the whole pork laulau.
Thanks for being here today; I appreciate the time you donate to me.  Please, leave some comments and let me know what you think about what I have said.  I look forward to hearing from you and engaging back and forth.
See you tomorrow, aloha.  Oh, hey, it’s pau hana Friday, time to celebrate.

Up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, Simone, created this cartoonish caricature of me so we can keep our identities on the down low due to increasing threats, Web intrusions and threats, and so we do not lose our professional businesses because of our politics here at the AICP-END Blogs.
That said, I began my career in the early 1970’s when I apprenticed to cook under one of the masters on the Big Island where I was born.  I moved to Oahu in the early 1980’s after having worked in both Kona and Hilo, HI, and have been there for most of my professional career.
Moreover, I have also worked on Maui for a few years (1995-1998) and have been on Kauai (2001-2003) before returning to Honolulu.  My goal is to prepare the next generation of chefs for the future and to help the underprivileged in their struggle to attain careers in the foodservice industry.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Posted @ the Friday, August 23, 2019 Blog Post:

Steve Hackett (guitars/bass/harmonica/vocals) released his next studio album, “Wolfflight,” on June 23, 2015.  Joining the guitarist are: Nick Beggs (bass), Gary O’Toole and Hugo Degenhardt (drums/vocals), Roger King (keyboards), Robert Townsend (saxophones/flutes) and several other musicians to give the performance a unique texture of bluesy tunes with European flavorings.  As always, the songs are multifarious yet inviting and it is always a pleasure to hear any musical effort recorded by this stunning artist.  We hope everyone will seek it out and give it a good listen or two or more.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

Posted @ the Friday, November 30, 2012 Blog Post:

The next album by hard-rocking acid pioneers, BLUE CHEER, , “Oh! Pleasant Hope,” came out on April 10, 1971.  The band was the same as the previous effort: Dickie Peterson (bass/vocals), Norman Mayell (drums), Gary Lee Yoder (guitars) and Ralph Burns Kellogg (keyboards/guitars) along with a pack of additional musicians.  The band was now back off the psychedelic drugs- to a degree- and was returning to more of a heavy rock sound as that was what was happening at the time- good stuff.  We hope you will check this one out wherever you shop for nothing but the best in rock music- you will enjoy it.
Posted @ the Thursday, August 14, 2014 Blog Post A:

Jimmy Page released his first solo album, “Outrider,” on June 19, 1988, an album that made the charts and showed that the artist still had a fire in his belly.  Joining the extraordinary guitarist were Chris Farlowe (vocals), Barriemore Barlow (drums and percussion), Tony Franklin (bass), and a few other musicians to round out the sound.  We think you will find this album interesting because it is a signpost in the road showing us what the man still possesses by way of his musical abilities.  Please, seek it out and consider adding it to your collection- you’ll love it.
