Could repeated denials of emergency funding to secure the border in 2019 be payback for when President Obama asked GOP-controlled Congress for the $3.7 billion back in 2014? You better believe it

SUMMER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,175 AT THE AICP-END

482 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Like they say… payback’s a bitch
Taft, CA, 07-11-2019 Thursday: You know, I had an epiphany earlier in the week, one I will now share with you.  Our country is in trouble, we are in the throes of invasion what with millions of people seeking to flood into our country.  It seems as though there is no working together for either party as once there was.  It seems more about ‘payback’ than about upholding one’s oath to the U.S. Constitution, the making of laws, doing whatever is required for the good of the nation and for the American people and not for people who have NO business being here.
Well, back on July 08, 2014, President Barack Obama made an appeal to the GOP-controlled Congress.  He begged for $3.7 billion in emergency funding so he could deal with the crisis then going on along our border.
If you recall, at the time, there were thousands of unaccompanied minors working their way up the spine of Mexico, to our border, and then struggling to cross it.  The president sought the necessary funds with which to deal with these poor children and the Republicans REFUSED his request.  Refused his request and so cages holding tots began, something the current crop of Dems fail to remember.  Sucks for sure.
Now, some might speculate that the Democrats controlling the House are ‘paying back’ President Trump by continuing to deny him the necessary funding to build the wall and to provide care to the illegals already languishing in what Baby Evita- New York’s shame- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez- calls ‘concentration camps.’
No one wants to see people suffer, no one I know.  I would also assume that most Americans feel the same way.  I would assume, too, that President Trump feels that way and I would also assume that most of the Democrats running for the 2020 nomination deep down in their hearts are as appalled as everyone else is over the out-of-control situation occurring on our border but will admit it only in private.  That’s politics for you.
Yet, politics being what they are and with the intensity of the animosity towards President Trump and his supporters being what it is, I suspect that besides doling out a good dose of retribution for not supporting President Obama five years ago, they also want to give the president two black eyes thinking it will make him appear vulnerable in 16 months.  In 16 months, there might be no country for anyone to govern.
I think that if the new crop of freshman Democrats in the House were not there- if we still had the old-timers calling the shots instead of Baby Evita- we might be able to cobble together a deal in a smoke-filled backroom.
In so doing, each side would get something it values such as the Dems getting a couple million ‘Dreamers’ citizenship and voting rights and the GOPPERS getting the money to secure the border with everything imaginable, a return to countries of origin for everyone currently in Border Patrol custody and for all who will come in the future, and for the donors, an endless supply of cheap labor to exploit.  The Koch brothers?  You frigging bet- they love ‘em some illegal aliens!
One would think this would be wholly acceptable to the Democrats because if they get two-million-plus DREAMERS made ‘instant citizens,’ their rabbit-like reproduction rates will deliver loads of brand-spanking new Democrats for years to come (which is why the Republicans must work overtime to woo these people behind the scenes).
It would be a win-win for everyone because if we do nothing and what is going on continues to go on, friends, our nation will disappear beneath the fleshy waves like the lost continent of Atlantis did beneath the ocean waves just as some of my colleagues have recently prophesied.
Will it ever happen?  Probably not and here is why: the freshman Democrats in the House are BIG Kool-Aid drinkers and the folks running for the nomination believe that if things remain chaotic on the border, they suspect it will lead to Trump’s downfall, which I sincerely doubt but which they sincerely believe.
While I believe Baby Evita to rank among the stupidest people in Congress, she spews the pabulum that her followers gobble up.  Crying about ‘how the illegal alien mothers and brats must drink out of the crappers’ stirs up the ignorant and the clueless (unless they have been locked up for one reason or another- just saying, folks, don’t read anything into it) because in custody, they have combo-toilet-sinks.
I think we all know the Border Patrol is doing all it can to care for this tidal wave.  I also know that every human being has a breaking point and I am sure that many have thought about begging the U.S. military to dispatch ‘dusters’ to the border so they can begin ‘lighting them up’ and covering them with dirt.
I also know that frustrated people need an outlet to grouse and to bitch about those in charge not doing everything they can to enable them to fulfill the duties of their jobs so if they have ‘secret Facebook pages’ then so be it- it’s better than beating these people senseless or tossing their dead bodies in a ditch.  Besides, the pages began THREE years ago so my math informs me that the Border Patrol officers were bitching about it under Obama.
Folks let’s hope the older politicos can come together and do what they have done since time immemorial and that is make the necessary deals to what needs to be done while pushing the four young dimwits out of the room with palms to their faces.  Please, let’s get it done before we have nothing for which to get things done.

Santana released the group’s next ‘best of’ compilation on October 14, 2008.  This effort did extremely well back in the day because it had all of the band’s classic hits from start to finish in one convenient place.  “Multi-Dimensional Warrior” is a worthy effort to add to one’s growing album and CD collection because there is nothing better than hearing this amazing group’s earlier tunes on an updated 2-CD offering.  This phenomenal artist has gifted the world with his utterly amazing talent, something people around the globe celebrate and love.  You will indeed enjoy it- we guarantee it.
