SUMMER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,171 AT THE AICP-END

486 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

The Golden State ain’t golden no more…
Century City, CA, 07-07-2019 Sunday:  Little Gavin Newsom became sitting governor in January of this year and man, oh, man, my wife and I have not been thrilled with the Smiler’s six-plus months in office.  Back in January of this year, I made the statement that California voters might regret voting for this pathetic lump of a man because unlike Jerry Brown who was an ardent leftist, this man is an ultra-leftist and believes he is on track to being president one day.  God forbid.
In many ways, Sam and I now see this mirthless little prick as a Nicolas Maduro wannabe.  Whereas Jerry Brown- in the same way as Venezuelan former president Hugo Chavez- had some decent ideas, like Nicolas Maduro, Governor Newsom has NO good ideas.  He does not care, all that matters to this loser is the fact that he is the governor of the nation’s once-greatest state and whatever happens in the interim is NOT his problem but ours.  Ours.
Here is something I said about this angry little schmuck back on January 10:
“Once Donald Trump became president, Governor Newsom and his predecessor declared war on the federal government and aided by then-and-now state Attorney-General Xavier Becerra have hurled one lawsuit after another at the administration seeking to force distance between it and the Golden State at almost every turn.” (Grinikeodopuloposlus, 10-January-2019)
Governor Newsom truly has no plan as to how to make California a better place other than punishing everyone by turning on a massive welcoming beacon, one that invites illegal aliens from around the world to flood across our borders and into the interior.
Newsom and his butt-buddy Attorney-General Xavier Becerra do everything they can in their effort to be ‘in-your-face’ to California voters every chance they get and promising to strip us of our health care plans- including government-funded ones such as Medicare and Medicaid- and replacing it with one-size-fits-all health care run by apparatchiks in Sacramento AND providing FREE health care to ALL illegal aliens is a sucker punch to the gut.  NOT good.
WHY anyone would even pander to illegal aliens is beyond me.  I mean, TECHNICALLY, these people cannot vote, right?  Yet, our state eagerly hands out driver’s licenses to all newcomers while registering them to vote.  Somewhere on the form it tells them that if they are noncitizens, they cannot vote but the Golden State relies on the “Honor System.”  What?
Before we began doing our own background checks and investigating potential employees, we know there were many who claimed to be citizens but in no way resembled who they were claiming to be.  A fellow looking like an Andean indigenous person with an Irish surname.  Really?
We figure that if the people running Sacramento would not work with us in following federal employment laws, we would join forces with other people in the same industry- food service- and begin obeying the law in a round-a-bout way.
We would hire a private employment firm to do the digging for us and anyone who appears to be an illegal alien did not get a job.  Sure, if caught, we could go to state prison but who in their right mind wants to aid and abet a pair of criminals- Governor Gavin Newsom and AG Xavier Becerra- in breaking federal law?
Here is something else I said about our Boy Wonder Governor:
“As if this were not bad enough, in his inaugural address, Governor Newsom invited still more illegals to flood the state through his blatant offers of protection as well as free health care provided at cost by the taxpayers.  We already strain beneath the weight of taxes now and every time the Democrats put another tax measure on the ballot, thanks to the numbers of illegals in the voter base, they pass without question.”  (Grinikeodopuloposlus, 10-January-2019)
At some point, the ship of state cannot continue sailing forward.  Our taxes are going up and as always, no matter where California Democrats CLAIM the revenues are going, it always goes to the same place: CalPERS.
Funding California employees’ retirement fund- along with providing care to multitudes of illegal aliens continues breaking the back of taxpayers.  We have witnessed a multitude of Californians heading to friendlier, less-taxed, states.  I mean, Samantha and I are considering sale of our business and relocating to Florida because this is getting out of hand and someone somewhere must break the back of the Democrats destroying our state.
As someone who lives and runs a profitable business in Los Angeles, California, there are large swaths of the city where sane people will not go such as the fecal capital of the state, downtown L.A.’s skid row.  Diseases not seen since World War II are making a comeback and anyone in his or her right mind is seeking whatever inoculations their physicians are willing to give them so they can avoid typhus and other rat and roach-spread illnesses.
If you live in California, now is the time to stand up and make your presence known in the next election.  If you like what is going on and want more of it, please stay away from the polls and stay stoned.  We need to save our state and we need to do it soon.
See you next time, folks; thanks for joining me throughout this week.  God bless and if you live in California, good luck.

This is a cartoonish rendition of me as I now am, old, tired, but at the top of the heap when it comes to classical Greek cuisine in the great Southland of California.  I began cooking in the 1960's in my native Greece before moving to Los Angeles, California, in the early 1970's. My family came here after World War II and I have had the pleasure of working both in my homeland as well as in the United States.  I apprenticed under an ACF Master Chef shortly after coming to L.A. and now here I am. I still am involved in professional food service as both an instructor and caretaker of my family’s business.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Steve Hackett (guitars/bass/harmonica/vocals) released his next album, “Live Nearfest,” on June 28, 2003.  As with every artist with a lengthy career, at some point, they begin opening the archives and releasing the best of what they have and here, we have a series of great shows recorded in the UK. This is a box set chock full of some amazing live music from the turn of the century onward.  If you are a completist as we are, you must own every shred of music by an artist you love, which is why we encourage everyone to seek this album out and add it to your collection- you will be glad you did.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

Posted @ the Sunday, October 14, 2012 Blog Post:

On October 31, 2003Santana released the band’s next album, the colossal seller, “All That I Am.”  This album saw Santana continuing to build on the success of the previous pair of studio albums.  Joining the guitarist were numerous vocalists, along with regulars Dennis Chambers (drums), Benny Rietveld (bass), Chester D. Thompson (keyboards), Raul Rekow and Karl Perrazo (assorted percussion), and a couple of horn players to round out the sound.  Unfortunately, no big selling singles came off this album.  We hope you will seek this awesome album out and add it to your collection as it is a worthy addition to any music collection.

Posted @ the Monday, July 21, 2014 Blog Post B:

Mott the Hoople reformed after the abandonment of the band by Ian Hunter and became Mott.  The band now featured Nigel Benjamin (lead vocals/keyboards/rhythm guitar), Ray Major (lead guitar/backing and lead vocals), Overend Watts (bass/backing vocals), Morgan Fisher (organ/backing vocals), and Buffin (drums) and although the album, “Drive On,” (September 10, 1975) did not sell well, it is a good album.  Bassist Overend Watts put every cent he earned from the original band finally breaking through to the Big Time into this effort and it is a worthy addition to any growing album collection.  Please, seek this one out and consider adding it to yours- you will be glad you did.
