SUMMER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,156 AT THE AICP-END

501 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

We finish listing the Democratic candidates and their chances; tomorrow, we will conclude with analyzing the chances of each in the upcoming debates…
Arvin, CA, 06-22-2019 Saturday: Man, oh, man, Mo has done it again.  Apparently he offended Jack Dorsey and the mopes at Twitter by being free in his very articulate speech and they continue punishing him for things he said.  Look, I get it, we liberals have a bunch of pantywaists who snivel, whine, and cry all because someone says something that rubs them the wrong way and it’s “Oh boohoo-snivel, sob,” snot running down their noses and dripping off their chins, puddling on the floor.  Knowing Mo, he said something snarky about the little darling on our side of the aisle, the skank who took Joe Crowley’s seat in New York.  I am not going to mention the Baby Evita’s name because I don’t want Twitter to come looking for me and shutting down MY Twitter feed.
Free speech is important and the sad thing about my side of the political divide is that we have gobs of people who love dishing it out but when it comes to receiving return fire, they begin breaking down, falling apart and seeking the nearest safe space, which in my view is a public dumpster full of rotten meat.  Come on, grow a pair and stop with the damned crying.  If you can fling mud then you had better accept taking it when it comes your way and if that prick Jack Dorsey or his buddies Mark Zuckerberg and the punk running Google or any of these other pricks can’t permit people to speak their minds, sell your stake in the business to someone who can.  Plain and f**king simple.
Yesterday, we were discussing the viable candidates on our side who stand a chance at dethroning the current president and putting America right again.  Today, we have Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and I am lumping the ‘disappeared’ Howard Schultz in with them because if he was smart, he would announce that he has changed his mind and is running as a Democrat and not as a much-detested and despised independent.  We don’t need no more stinking independents.
I like Senator Klobuchar, I think she is a solid candidate, one who could be a sleeper in the race.  While the others battle it out in the upcoming debates, as along as she can hold her own and be on topic when the questions fly her way, she will be able to move on and then launch a hefty attack on the remnants who survive the first couple of debates.
Like Tulsi Gabbard, congresswoman from Hawaii, I think if she can hang in there, she like Tulsi should be able to start funneling more and more donations in her direction as many of the bottom-feeders, folks who should not even be in the running, drop along the side of the road and into the ditch.
The problem is, I have no clue how long the first debate, split over two nights, will go.  Perhaps after a brief introduction, each one will be able to shag no more than two, possibly three questions because each night, you have 10 people battling it out seeking supremacy over the others.  The fact that Liz Warren is the BIG NAME in the first night means she should make mincemeat pie out of her fellow Democrats so I suspect she will see a massive spike in her numbers go UP.
After Amy, we have Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, both appearing on the second night (or so I believe).  These two will battle it out for supremacy like Senator Warren will with the red meat thrown to her on Night No. 1.  I suspect it could be ‘gory.’
The problem with Bernie and Joe is that both of them had their ‘moment’ four years ago but due to the machinations pre-Tom Perez by Debbie Wasserman Schultz and then Donna Brazile (as well as President Obama), both of them lost out on ‘their time.’
You see, Barack told Joe ‘not to run’ in 2016 and the DNC and the president chose Hillary to be the nominee.  They did this like the party did Walter Mondale back in 1984, it was ‘his turn’ and after Barack screwed Hillary in the 2008 campaign, it, too, was ‘her turn’ and there she was, primed for the shellacking she got.
I think had the system been fair and Barack had endorsed his vice-president, things would have turned out differently just as had the DNC not concocted those loco rules in which, Bernie could win primary after primary but still lose thanks to the ‘superdelegate scheme,’ one of the all-time worst things we as a party ever did.  Either one of those men would have been better choices than the old, tired battleax who could not stand up half the time.
Look, don’t get mad at me, I am just pointing out the inconvenient truth (to steal a phrase from Al Gore, another frustrated loser) because it is important that we, as a political party, are deadly honest with one another.  Hillary did not have the election ‘stolen,’ although I may have been on that bandwagon at one time out of frustration, because she was a horrible candidate.
Like Bernie and Joe’s time being four years ago, Hillary’s was eleven years ago but we know that ‘you-know-who’ screwed her in 2008 just like his machinations aided by Wasserman-Schultz and Brazile screwed them.  This is one of the reasons I am so glad that we have a new chairperson in Tom Perez.  I think under the circumstances, he is doing a bang-up job in arranging the debates this time around.
Here are the lineups for each night: Night No. 1 (June 26, 2019):
Bill Di Blasio, Tim Ryan, Julian Castro, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Beto O’Rourke, Amy Klobuchar, Tulsi Gabbard, Jay Inslee, and John Delaney.
Night No. 2 (June 27, 2019):
Marianne Williamson, John Hickenlooper, Andrew Yang, Pete Buttigieg, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand, Eric Swalwell, and Michael Bennett.
Not appearing: Seth Moulton, Wayne Messam, Mike Gravel, and Stephen Clarke Bullock (although- supposedly- the final name has qualified for the second round).
Whatever happens, it’s going to be fun and the diversity of opinions will dwarf anything the GOPPERS have.  Thank you- see you all tomorrow.

This is a facsimile of me as a young chef back in the 1960's when I was working as a sous chef at a fine dining restaurant, the Victor Hugo, over on the coast around Newport, California.  I began my career working as a pot washer at the age of 10, move to washing dishes in 1958, became a chef's apprentice in 1961 and have been a career professional ever since.  I am still involved in professional foodservice as a consultant for food and beverage professionals.  Famed Bakersfield street artist Simone created the cartoonish figure of me, which appears to be ‘me’ but I hope I look better than how he portrayed me.  You are the judge.

Posted @ the Sunday, September 30, 2012 Blog Post:

Santana released the group’s next ‘best of’ compilation- a 3 CD box set, no less- on August 08, 1995.  “Dance of the Rainbow Serpent” is a worthy effort to add to one’s growing album and CD collection because there is nothing better than hearing this amazing group’s classic tunes, especially with other artists providing accompaniment.  This effort did extremely well because it was retrospective and featured the artist’s numerous performances with other artists.  Broken down into ‘heart,’ ‘soul,’ and ‘spirit,’ each disc features a thematic flow of styles.  This phenomenal artist has gifted the world with his utterly amazing talent, something people around the globe celebrate and love.  You will indeed enjoy it- we guarantee it.

Posted @ the Monday, July 14, 2014 Blog Post A:

Free found itself with one final studio album to produce, which it did, the acclaimed “Heartbreaker” which came out on January 10, 1973.  The lineup was altered to some degree now featuring Paul Rodgers (lead vocals/guitars/pianos), Paul Kossoff (lead guitar), Tetsu Yamauchi (bass), and Simon Kirke (drums and percussion), John “Rabbit” Bundrick (keyboards), and Rebop Kwaku Baah (percussion), along with 1-2 others.  Although this would be the swan song for the band, the group still managed to crank out a good-sized hit in “Wishing Well.”  We hope you will seek this album out and consider adding it to your growing collection of fine rock music- you will be glad you did.
