SPRING SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,154 AT THE AICP-END

503 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

We complete the Loser Category Democratic 2020 hopefuls today
Arvin, CA, 06-20-2019 Thursday:  Yesterday, I commenced handicapping the Democratic hopefuls vying for the nomination in 2020 and several of them, we cut out right from the very start such as Andrew Yang, Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker, John Hickenlooper, Jay Inslee, and of course, your favorite and mine, the highly untelegenic cretin from Texas, the man who could not even beat Senator Ted Cruz, Robert Francis “Beto” aka “Hand Jive” O’Rourke.  Each of these candidates you and I scrutinized under a microscope and once we did, I provided you my feelings as to each one’s possibility of winning of the nomination and why they could or would not.  We will now move on with the remaining long-long-long shots.
Others in the loser category include Florida Mayor Wayne Messam, a seemingly likable guy, but why are you even in the race?  What makes you think that a nobody like you or former Senator Mike Gravel from Alaska have any chance at winning the vice presidential slot, much less the BIG NOMINATION, the 2020 standard-bearer of our party?  Neither of you has a shot no more than Jim Webb, Martin O’Malley, and Lincoln Chafee did back in 2016 yet, you think somehow you can.  Ah, well, give it a go.
Three congressman, Tim Ryan, Eric Swalwell, and Seth Moulton believe they, too, can somehow make it to the end of the line and somehow claim the coveted position, like, if everyone else drops dead.  I think Congressman Ryan is a good guy, I think he means well, and who knows?  Perhaps he could become surgeon general in a Democratic administration?  As a doctor, he might be just what the physician ordered but as president, no chance in hell.
The other two congressman, Swalwell and Moulton, grab the kids and hide them under the floorboards, pull the drapes and bar the doors.  Where this incredibly dense and untelegenic duo think they have a snowball’s chance in hell is beyond me.  I mean it.  I cannot imagine Swalwell having been a prosecutor much less a congressman and I feel for the people of his district.  The guy is, how you say it, a horse’s ass.
The other man, I believe a veteran, is one of those peculiar losers so endemic in the Democratic Party, the self-hating goober who has to whine and snivel about all the racism in the United States and ‘oh, woe, look at me, I’m a white male and I’ve done wrong.’
There is only so much a thinking liberal such as me can handle and if I have to look at two dog dinguses trying to somehow win the nomination for longer than the first debate, I am going to have to stick a soup spoon down my throat and throw up my ‘Swalwell and Moulton’ into the nearest Chuck E. Cheese crapper.
Don’t get me wrong, probably both of them are nice guys (although I think Swalwell suffers from a cantankerous, oversized ego) but as president, if you think Trump is the worst (which he is), these two would eclipse him and probably get us nuked by an alliance of China, Russia, NOKO, and Iran.
Moving on, let us see who is next on our list: ah, Mayor Pete Buttigieg.  I am not like everyone else on my side of the aisle and enamored of this Sheldon Cooper knockoff because I think he could be highly dangerous for the country.
Sure, as a representative of the LGBTQIA+ group, he would be another first in our quiver of ‘firsts.’  However, he is a MAYOR, of a crap hole town infested with problems and we want him to be our next president?  Really?  Honest to God?  You have to be kidding me and here is why:
Much of the country and most of the world is NOT ready for the first gay president of the United States, no matter how intelligent, how intellectual, and how articulate Mayor Pete is.
I fear that if he entered the White House and he started swapping spit with his little hubby, we would see an immediate realignment of Muslim nations who presently are our friends bolt to Russia and/or China.  They are NOT going to accept a gay president no more than a large portion of the country will.
I think Russia, China, and Iran’s perspective on homosexuality would show the Muslim and African nations favorable to us now an out and after them calling us the BIG SATAN for as long as many of them have, thanks to their ‘loving’ Muslim faith, they would finally have proof that we- in their eyes at least- are NOT.
If you think having Trump in the White House has opened our nation to possible attack, magnify the threat by one-thousand and that is where we would be, under threat of nuclear attack from an alignment of nations finally having the balls to take a combined stab at us.  It would be akin- in my eyes- to welcoming in the Apocalypse and inviting our destruction and of whatever allies remain to us.
Again, like Swalwell and Moulton, I am sure Mayor Pete is a great guy, one with whom I could share a beer or two.  However, as president- even though many far-left liberals on my side of the aisle would be dancing in the streets if he became our president, I sincerely believe it would not be good for our country or the world to have Mayor Pete become our president.  The world is not ready for it.
The final ones to slice from the herd are Michael Bennett, senator from Colorado, Montana Governor Stephen Bullock, and the worst candidate imaginable, flipping New York City Mayor Bill Di Blasio.  Surely the last one is running simply for comedic relief, right?  I sure as hell hope so because NO one is voting for him to be dog catcher much less president of the United States.  The man killed a groundhog, for God’s sake, and his wife is a flipping embezzler.
Be here tomorrow and we will begin looking at the ones who have a chance to win the whole enchilada.  See you then.

This is a facsimile of me as a young chef back in the 1960's when I was working as a sous chef at a fine dining restaurant, the Victor Hugo, over on the coast around Newport, California.  I began my career working as a pot washer at the age of 10, move to washing dishes in 1958, became a chef's apprentice in 1961 and have been a career professional ever since.  I am still involved in professional foodservice as a consultant for food and beverage professionals.  Famed Bakersfield street artist Simone created the cartoonish figure of me, which appears to be ‘me’ but I hope I look better than how he portrayed me.  You are the judge.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Phil Collins released his next album, “Tarzan- an Original Walt Disney Records Soundtrack,” on May 18, 1999.  For many artists, doing a soundtrack can be financially rewarding, especially if the artist is able to deliver a substantial hit from the album which is what he does here.  The song, “You’ll be in my Heart” won awards at both the Oscars and at the Golden Globes so folks, this is a musical rendering that you need to seek out and consider- we repeat- consider adding to your collection.  We think you will enjoy it.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

Posted @ the Friday, September 28, 2012 Blog Post:

Santana released a smoking live album, “Sacred Fire- Live in South America,” on November 02, 1993.  There are 13 classic cuts on this effort that emanate from the earlier albums which is why it is so hot as one never tires of hearing the all-time greats.  The lineup featured Carlos Santana (guitars/backing vocals), Jorge Santana (guitars/backing vocals), Alex Ligertwood (vocals), Walfredo Reyes Jr. (drums), David Margen and Myron Dove (bass), Alan Pasqua (keyboards), Raul Rekow, Vorriece Cooper, and Karl Perrazo (assorted percussion), and a few others.  This is an enchanting album, we hope you will investigate for the sake of your own ears as it is a superlative addition to any growing album collection.  One thing can be said about Mr. Santana is that he NEVER fails to please his fans.

Posted @ the Sunday, July 13, 2014 Blog Post A:

Free reformed for a second-to-last studio album in 1972.  “Free at Last” came out on May 08, 1972 and it featured a revved-up quartet of Paul Rodgers (lead vocals/guitars/pianos), Paul Kossoff (lead guitar), Andy Fraser (bass), and Simon Kirke (drums and percussion) although Kossoff was having increasing drug difficulties.  Sadly, the album did not rekindle the success the band enjoyed with “Fire and Water,” and once again, friction reignited between various members.  The album serves as a keystone for this fabled British blues act which is why we encourage everyone to seek it out by visiting whatever site you do for nothing but the absolute best in fine rock music.  You will be so glad you did.
