WINTER SESSION 2019

BLOG POST #3,026 AT THE AICP-END

631 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Baby Evita is little more than a liberal thief
Weedpatch, CA, 02-12-2019 Tuesday: Good morning, friends, there is much discussion about the Green New Deal, how the unattractive barmaid, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka the Baby Evita, aka AOC, aka “Dumbass,” has this ‘Green New Deal’ and now has fellow female liberal Democrats jumping aboard with her even though this ‘deal’ is not even hers; no, she stole it from the Green Party website.
The summary of the Green New Deal (found at www.gp.org) states the following:
“The Green New Deal is a four part program for moving America quickly out of crisis into a secure, sustainable future.  Inspired by the New Deal programs that helped us out of the Great Depression of the 1930s, the Green New Deal will provide similar relief and create an economy that makes our communities sustainable, healthy, and just.”  (www.gp.org)
Here are the ‘Four Pillars of the Green New Deal’ (and note, I will insert comments into the text where I feel the need or will add them at the end):
Part I: Economic Bill of Rights:
“Our country cannot truly move forward until the roots of inequality are pulled up, and the seeds of a new, healthier economy are planted.  Thus, the Green New Deal begins with an Economic Bill of Rights that ensures all citizens: 1. The right to employment through a Full Employment Program that will create 25 million jobs by implementing a nationally funded, but locally controlled direct employment initiative replacing unemployment offices with local employment offices offering public sector jobs which are “stored” in job banks in order to take up any slack in private sector employment.”  (www.gp.org)
The Green New Deal continues:
“Local communities will use a process of broad stakeholder input and democratic decision making to fairly implement these programs;
“Pay-to-play prohibitions will ensure that campaign contributions or lobbying favors do not impact decision-making;
“We will end unemployment in America once and for all by guaranteeing a job at a living wage for every American willing and able to work.”
“2. Worker’s rights including the right to a living wage, to a safe workplace, to fair trade, and to organize a union at work without fear of firing or reprisal;
“3. The right to quality health care which will be achieved through a single-payer Medicare-for-All program;
“4. The right to a tuition-free, quality, federally funded, local controlled public education system from pre-school through college.  We will also forgive student loan debt from the current era of unaffordable college education;
“5. The right to decent affordable housing, including an immediate halt to all foreclosures and evictions.  We will:
“Create a federal bank with local branches to take over homes with distressed mortgages and either restructure the mortgages to affordable levels, or if the occupants cannot afford a mortgage, rent homes to the occupants;
“Expand rental and home ownership assistance;
“Create ample public housing; and,
“Offer capital grants to non-profit developers of affordable housing until all people can obtain a decent housing at no more than 25% of their income.”
“6. The right to accessible and affordable utilities- heat, electricity, phone, internet, and public transportation- through democratically run, publicly owned utilities that operate at cost, not for profit;
“7. The right to fair taxation that’s distributed in proportion to ability to pay.  In addition, corporate tax subsidies will be made transparent by detailing them in public budgets where they can be scrutinized, not hidden as tax breaks.” (www.gp.org)
Nancy Pelosi was correct when she called this ‘pie in the sky.’  Although she might encourage the “energy” of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka the Baby Evita, aka AOC, aka “Dumbass,” she should fear this lunatic just as others among both parties should fear her.
I am quite sure that NO one gave Fidel Castro or Che Guevara much attention when they said what going to do until the murderous thugs began doing it, when it was too flipping late to do a single thing about it.  Communism continues to reign supreme in Cuba and in other Third World s**t-hole countries as once it becomes ingrained, it requires the mass killing of everyone benefitting from the system.  Then and only then, can an enslaved people return to freedom and capitalism.
Virtually everything in this steaming pot of Green New Deal cow crap is loony tunes.  The only way to fund it is to tax the rich into oblivion, which will drive them and their cash out of the country to places more welcoming to them.
I doubt an idiot like Tom Steyer would remain; no, I bet he would pull up stakes along with Georgy Soros and other leftist billionaires and would go someplace more amenable to them.  Liz Warren promises to pursue billionaires wherever they might escape to so NO one can beat the taxman.
That would leave the disappearing middle class to pay the bulk of the taxes.  I fear that if they balk and began demanding a return to sanity, the liberal Democrats would use their illegal alien military-aged males to become their ‘enforcement’ arm, their S.A., the Ocasio-Cortez Brown Shirts.
The Dems would pit them against any critics and nonbelievers in the same way the Colonial British employed Indian troops in Africa and Asia to quell uprisings by native peoples while using other members of their colonial empire to quell Indian uprisings.
We will continue discussing this big pot of hooey tomorrow and most likely throughout the rest of the week.  See you at BOTH blogs tomorrow.

My colleagues and I no longer share old photos of us, as the price of success means that lunatics and nuts come looking for one.  Therefore, we hired local up-and-coming Bakersfield-Oildale, California street artist, Simone, to create facsimiles of us so we can remain somewhat obscure. Ah, well, I began my culinary career in 1969 bussing tables at age 12 and became a cook's apprentice in 1973 at age 17. I have worked all over California, Hawaii, Washington State, and even a brief time in Arizona

Following the death of Queen front man, Freddie Mercury, his record company released what would have been his second solo studio album, the amazing, “The Freddie Mercury Album,” which came out on November 16, 1992.  Joining the accomplished vocalist/musician were a lineup of top-notch musicians, and while the album contained some stuff from his earlier solo album, it also had some remixes and additional material.  The album  was released to remember the first anniversary of his death.  If you want to catch the artist away from his main job with Queen, we urge you to seek this album out and give it a listen- we think you will enjoy it.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Following the death of Queen front man, Freddie Mercury, his record company released what would have been his second solo studio album, the amazing, “The Freddie Mercury Album,” which came out on November 16, 1992.  Joining the accomplished vocalist/musician were a lineup of top-notch musicians, and while the album contained some stuff from his earlier solo album, it also had some remixes and additional material.  The album  was released to remember the first anniversary of his death.  If you want to catch the artist away from his main job with Queen, we urge you to seek this album out and give it a listen- we think you will enjoy it.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

Posted @ the Wednesday, May 23, 2012 Blog Post:

HOT TUNA released an archival release entitled, “Setlist: the Very Best of Hot Tuna,” on June 21, 2011.  This album features tunes from the band’s 1970s rock-and-roll tours as a power trio.”  Having seen the band live, we can attest to how great they are/were, which is why everyone should seek out this album and add it to their ever-growing collection.  We hope you will- it’s good stuff and we know you will enjoy it.

Posted @ the Wednesday, May 21, 2014 Blog Post B:

Rod Stewart released his second biggest album of the 1970s on November 17, 1978.  This album was a monster as it delivered some powerful tunes with a great deal of radio airplay.  “Blondes Have More Fun” found the Scottish rocker returning to doing the rock music that made him famous.  The disco-drenched  “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy,” alone, is worth the price of admission as is “Ain’t Love a Bitch.”  It also included some powerful ballads so it was a well-rounded effort.  Once again, he had a wide range of musicians joining him but no one from the ‘old days.’  On guitars, we have Gary GraingerBilly Peek, and Jim Cregan.  On bass, we have Phil Chen and on drums, Vanilla Fudge and Cactus alum, Carmine Appice.  Please, seek this album out as it is an important addition to the ongoing discography of this famed singer.
