FALL SESSION 2018

BLOG POST #2,926 AT THE AICP-END

THREE DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

We break down California’s ballot propositions today
Santa Barbara, CA, 11-04-2018 Sunday:  Good morning, welcome once again.  Yesterday, we had three sessions over the course of which, ALL employees received information regarding the upcoming Tuesday elections.  Everyone attended and everyone is a citizen as we do not hire people whom we cannot verify even though that POS who serves as our attorney-general always threatens employers with all manner of punishments, fines, and penalties if they do not hire noncitizens or worse, if they whisper to ICE agents that ‘we have some people whom we cannot identify and YOU need to come and check them out.’  Hence, why you now know is among the reasons for increased security regarding our real names, our places of business, and where, exactly, we live.  Cannot have AG Becerra and his passel of fascist goons come looking for us.
There is a growing ‘Resistance to the Resistance Movement’ here in California as more and more citizens, employers, law-abiding folks ignore or turn their backs on goobers running Sacramento.  Enough is enough.  The ‘Resistance to the Resistance Movement’ is alive and well all around the state, most notably in Orange and Kern Counties as well as in quite a few north of the Bay Area or along the eastern border.
Soon, we hope we won’t have to lurk in the shadows, reaching out to people near and far through a network of salesmen-and-women, our purveyors, many of our customers, and everyone else who is of like-mind and who does not want to see our beloved state topple into anarchy thanks to devious Democrats who care ONLY about personal political power and not the needs of American citizens.
Okay, we will conclude our week by going through the ballot propositions.  The first one is Proposition 1: Authorizes Bonds to Fund Specified Housing Assistance Programs, Legislative Statute.  This statute authorizes $4 billion in general obligation bonds for existing affordable housing programs for low-income residents, etc.
Although they say this will help impoverished veterans, poor folks, farmworkers, and those who live in mobile homes, it is all phony baloney, folks.  This will not only raise taxes for all Californians, most of the aid will go to MORE illegal aliens- such as those marching northbound from Central America whom Sacramento wants to welcome- which is why we say “NO.” VOTE NO on Proposition 1.
Proposition 2: Authorizes Bonds to Fund Existing Housing Program for Individuals with Mental Illness, Legislative Statute.  This program is a must if we are serious about providing aid to homeless mental patients as well as others at risk in homes and communities around the state.  One of the worst things we ever did as a society was close existing mental hospitals back in the 1970s and 1980s.  VOTE YES on Proposition 2.
Proposition 3: Authorizes Bonds to Fund Projects for Water Supply and Quality, Conveyance, and Groundwater Sustainability and Storage, Initiative Statute.  Every time the people of this state vote for programs designed to help with our water crises, the money always seems to be diverted elsewhere.  We already have water projects underway so why give these politicians billions of dollars more that will somehow sneak into California High-Speed Rail and CalPERS?  VOTE NO on Proposition 3.
Proposition 4: Authorizes Bonds Funding Construction at Hospitals Providing Children’s Health Care, Initiative Statute.  This is an important proposition that the good-hearted among us believe is important; however, if Sacramento Democrats find ways to rip off the funding to divert it into California High-Speed Rail and CalPERS, then they will pay a hefty price at the next electoral opportunity.  VOTE YES on Proposition 4.
Proposition 5: Changes Requirements for Certain Property Owners to Transfer Their Property Tax Base to Replacement Property.  Initiative Constitutional Amendment and Statute.  Look, people over age 55, severely disabled homeowners and those living on devastated properties have had to chafe under restrictions giving them a second chance at rehabilitating their property taxes, which is why we say, VOTE YES on Proposition 5.
Proposition 6: Eliminates Certain Road Repair and Transportation Funding, Requires Certain Fuel Taxes and Vehicle Fees be Approved by the Electorate.  Initiative Constitutional Amendment.  This is the infamous gas tax, one that puts $0.73 additional taxes on a gallon of gas.  We know the Democrats want us out of our cars just as they do not give a damn about lower-income Americans and are threatening all manner of repercussions should voters vote YES to get rid of it for good. It has to go, VOTE YES on Proposition 6, enough is enough.
Proposition 7: Conforms California Daylight Saving Time to Federal Law, Allows Legislature to Change Daylight Saving Time Period.  Legislative Statute.  Look, Daylight Savings Time messes up everyone, especially when it changes here and there or is not even observed.  We say, VOTE YES on Proposition 7.
Proposition 8: Regulates Amounts Outpatient Kidney Dialysis Clinics Charge for Dialysis Treatment, Initiative Statute.  This one is crazy, it would drive everyone who requires kidney dialysis to get out of clinics and go to illegal alien-clogged emergency rooms at county hospitals for their treatments.  Tens of thousands could and probably will die, so compassionate are the Democrats.  Screw them and their attempt to stuff socialized medicine down our throats.  VOTE NO on Proposition 8.
Proposition 9: removed from the ballot by the California Supreme Court- this was the plan to break our state into three states, something the Dems began worrying about as it would have added at least two more right-leaning states meaning four additional conservative senators (instead of the hoped-for six liberals), something they did not want.
Proposition 10: Expands Local Governments’ Authority to Enact Rent Control on Residential Property, Initiative Statute.  Folks, Sacramento wants to put rent controls on EVERY form of residential property, including what YOU can charge for your own home should you decide to rent it out to someone else.  NO government should have this type of control which is why we say VOTE NO on Proposition 10.
Proposition 11: Requires Private-Sector Emergency Ambulance Employees to Remain On-Call During Work Breaks.  Eliminates Certain Employer Liability, Initiative Statute.  It only makes sense that first-responder medical crews remain on PAID call at all times as it is a matter of life and death.  They also need training from FEMA authorities as how to respond during mass shootings.  We say VOTE YES on Proposition 11.
Proposition 12: Establishes New Standards for Confinement of Specified Farm Animals: Bans Sale of Noncomplying Products, Initiative Statute.  We already have restrictions on how farm animals can be housed.  This statute would make it even worse and any out-of-state provider who did not observe the same restrictions would be unable to sell their products in California, thus driving up already high food costs.  This would cripple the poor and the needy.  VOTE NO on Proposition 12.
There are other local ballot measures but they do not matter to people outside those areas.  It is what it is.  All I can say is ‘please, educate yourselves and those around you and then vote on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
That is it for this year for me; I will see you next year.  Have wonderful holidays and let us make America and California better as well as Hawaii and Washington state where some of our other authors reside.  Bye.

Back in the day, I was working at a hotel in Bakersfield, California, down on Union Avenue where I met Stinkbug.  It was still nice at the time, and the area was still the original "restaurant row" of the city.  Now, I am over 70 years old and work over in Santa Barbara, CA, as a food and beverage director for a fine-dining country club.  The pictures you see here of me are facsimiles created by up-and-coming Bakersfield, California, street artist, the famed Simone.  Clever work, dude, excellent work.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 04, 2018

On November 21, 1976, Wishbone Ash released its next effort, “New England,” which did so much better than the preceding effort, “Locked In.”  Having relocated to the northeastern United States because of the overwhelming socialist tax policies of their native England, they took the region of their new home and made it the title of the album.  The lineup remained the same, featuring Martin Turner (bass/vocals), Laurie Wisefield (guitars/vocals), Andy Powell (guitars/vocals), and Steve Upton (drums) and the band began turning up the heat.  We love this album and we urge everyone to use the link we provide you here so you can visit Amazon.com where you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you- you will be glad you did.  We appreciate your patronage.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

On November 21, 1976Wishbone Ash released its next effort, “New England,” which did so much better than the preceding effort, “Locked In.”  Having relocated to the northeastern United States because of the overwhelming socialist tax policies of their native England, they took the region of their new home and made it the title of the album.

We continue offering CDs by the great New York band, the Velvet Underground. The band’s seventh album, “Live at Max’s Kansas City” came out in 1972 and was the band’s first live album featuring the crazed rockers at one of the legendary haunts in which, it performed: Max's Kansas City.  This two-CD set features the last performance in which, founding member Lou Reed played with the band (Sterling Morrison, lead and rhythm guitars; Doug Yule, bass/vocals; and Billy Yule, drums) and it is one of those CDs that instills the knowledge that rock-and-roll is here to stay and that is good in these trying times.  We think that you will enjoy this CD so please, use the link we provide you here so you can to Amazon.com and get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you.
