FALL SESSION 2018

BLOG POST #2,930 AT THE AICP-END

727 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020

Here are the tallies for the U.S. House races for California 2018
Bakersfield, CA, 11-08-2018 Thursday:  The election has come and the election has gone and now in another 727 days, we will be involved in the next election.  I will say one thing before we begin looking at any other 2018 Election news and that is WHY the Fox News Channel began declaring Democrats in California ‘the winners’ with less than ONE PERCENT of the vote in- this began almost as soon as polls closed in the Golden State, a few minutes after 8:00 p.m. and it pissed me and many of the people around me off.  It is not right.
We will now look at California’s election results as we looked at the races on Monday.  Here goes:
1.      United States Representative District 1: Audrey Denney (Democrat) v. Doug La Malfa, Republican, incumbent; La Malfa won another term with 56.1-percent of the vote whereas Denney received 43.9-percent.  Republicans: 1 / Democrats 0.
2.      United States Representative District 2: Democrat Jared Huffman, incumbent v. Republican Dale K. Mensing; Huffman won with 74.3-percent of the vote while Mensing received just 25.7-percent of the vote.  Republicans: 1 / Democrats: 1.
3.      United States Representative District 3: Democrat John Garamendi, incumbent v. Charles Schaupp, Republican.  Garamendi won with 57.2-percent of the vote while Schaupp received 42.8-percent.  Republicans: 1 / Democrats: 2.
4.      United States Representative District 4: Jessica Morse, Democrat v. incumbent Republican Tom McClintock; McClintock won with 55.3-percent of the vote while Morse pulled in 44.7-percent.  Republicans: 2 / Democrats: 2.
5.      United States Representative District 5: Democrat incumbent Mike Thompson v. Anthony Mills (no party preference); Thompson won with 78-percent of the vote compared to 22-percent for Mills.  Republicans: 2 / Democrats: 3.
6.      United States Representative District 6: Jrmar Jefferson, Democrat v. Doris Matsui, incumbent Democrat; Matsui won another term with 79.7-percent of the vote as opposed to 20.3-percent for Jefferson.  Republicans: 2 / Democrats: 4.
7.      United States Representative District 7: Democrat incumbent Ami Bera v. Republican businessman-educator Andrew Grant; Bera held onto her seat with 52.7-percent of the vote compared to 47.3-percent for her challenger.  Republicans: 2 / Democrats: 5.
8.      United States Representative District 8: Paul Cook, Republican incumbent v. Republican politician Tim Donnelly; Cook won another term with 60.3-percent of the vote compared to Donnelly’s 39.7-percent.  Republicans: 3 / Democrats: 5.
9.      United States Representative District 9: Jerry McNerney, Democrat incumbent v. Marla Livengood, Republican; McNerney retained his seat with 54.3-percent of the vote compared to 45.7-percent for Livengood.  Republicans: 3 / Democrats: 6.
10. United States Representative District 10: Democrat Josh Harder v. Republican incumbent Jeff Denham; although still counting the votes with 100-percent in, it appears that Denham will hold his seat with 50.6-percent of the vote compared with 49.4-percent for Harder.  Republicans: 4 / Democrats: 6.
11. United States Representative District 11: Mark DeSaulnier, Democratic incumbent v. Republican small business owner John Fitzgerald; DeSaulnier held the seat with 71.9-percent of the vote compared to 28.1-percent for Fitzgerald.  Republicans: 4 / Democrats: 7.

26. United States Representative District 26: Democrat incumbent Julia Brownley v. Antonio Sabato Jr., Republican businessman.  Brownley won with 59.4-percent of the vote compared to Mr. Sabato’s 40.6-percent.  Republicans: 6 / Democrats: 19.
27. United States Representative District 27: Congresswoman Judy Chu, Democrat v. Democrat Bryan Witt, railroad operations supervisor.  No surprise here, Chu kept her seat with 78.4-percent of the vote compared to 21.6-percent for Mr. Witt.  Republicans: 6 / Democrats: 20.
28. United States Representative District 28: Democrat incumbent Adam B. Schiff v. Republican Johnny J. Nalbandian.   Schiff maintained his seat with 76.4-percent of the vote compared to 23.6-percent for Mr. Nalbandian.  We wanted to see the little POS lose his seat but no problem for him.   Republicans: 6 / Democrats: 21.
29. United States Representative District 29: Democrat incumbent Tony Cardenas v. Republican Benito Benny Bernal.   Cardenas won with 79.2-percent of the vote compared to 20.8-percent.   Republicans: 6 / Democrats: 22.

39. United States Representative District 39: Democrat Gil Cisneros v. Young Kim, Republican small businessowner for an open seat.  It appears that Kim has won the seat with 51.3-percent of the vote compared to 48.7-percent of the vote for Cisneros.  Still, anytime it looks like a Republican is going to win, pollsters always leave it ‘up in the air’- even with 100-percent of the votes in- because they cannot bear to lose.  We say, Republicans: 7 / Democrats: 31.
40. United States Representative District 40: Democrat incumbent Lucille Roybal-Allard v. Green Party Rodolfo Cortes Barragan: Roybal-Allard won another term with 77.9-percent of the vote compared to the Green Party candidate’s 22.1-percent of the vote.  Republicans: 7 / Democrats: 32 / Green Party: 0.

44. United States Representative District 44: Democrat incumbent Nanette Diaz Barragán v. Aja L. Brown, Democrat, mayor of Compton.  Barragán won with 69.4-percent to 30.6-percent for Brown.   Republicans: 8 / Democrats: 35 / Green Party: 0.
45. United States Representative District 45: Democrat Katie Porter v. Republican incumbent Mimi Walters- with 100-percent of the votes in, it appears that Mimi Walters has won another term with 51.7-percent of the vote compared to 48.3-percent for Porter.  Still, the Democrats say, “NOT YET” because they are scouring car trunks for additional votes, a time-honored way for them to steal elections.  We say:  Republicans: 9 / Democrats: 35 / Green Party: 0.
46. United States Representative District 46: Democrat incumbent Lou Correa v. Republican Russell Rene Lambert: Correa won with 63.4-percent of the vote compared to just 36.6-percent for Mr. Lambert.  Republicans: 9 / Democrats: 36 / Green Party: 0.

50. United States Representative District 50: Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar v. Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter; Hunter maintained his seat with 54.3-percent of the vote opposed to 45.7-percent for his Democrat challenger.  Republicans: 10 / Democrats: 39 / Green Party: 0.
51. United States Representative District 51: Democrat incumbent Juan Vargas v. Republican USMC officer Juan M. Hidalgo, Jr.; Vargas won with 68.1-percent compared to Hidalgo Jr.’s 31.9-percent.  Republicans: 10 / Democrats: 40 / Green Party: 0.
52. United States Representative District 52: Democrat incumbent Scott Peters v. Republican Omar Qudrat; Peters won with 61.2-percent of the vote compared to 38.8-percent for Mr. Qudrat.  Republicans: 10 / Democrats: 41 / Green Party: 0.
53. United States Representative District 53: Democrat incumbent Susan A. Davis v. Morgan Murtaugh, Republican political commentator; Davis won with 66-percent of the vote compared to 34-percent for Murtaugh.  Republicans: 10 / Democrats: 42 / Green Party: 0.
As for the U.S. Senate seat, Dianne Feinstein easily whooped her energetic young challenger, the flawed Democrat state Senator Kevin DeLeon with 54.3-percent of the vote compared to his 45.7-percent of the vote.
Friends, it appears that California is a lost cause.  You can thank the tidal wave of illegal aliens.  See you tomorrow.

Wishbone Ash released their next studio album, the amazing “No Smoke without Fire” on October 06, 1978.  Each studio album continued to amp up the volume and the rock and this one was no exception.  Once again, we had the same lineup, Martin Turner (bass/vocals), Laurie Wisefield (guitars/vocals), Andy Powell (guitars/vocals), and Steve Upton (drums).  The fact that this band remains with us to this day, albeit with only Powell at the helm tells you something about its ability to continue appealing to a large fan base.  Each song on this album is worth multiple listens, which is why we urge everyone to use the link we provide you here so you can visit the world’s greatest online marketplace.  Once there at Amazon.com, you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you- you will be glad you did.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

The Byrds released a recently located live recording featuring the band at the famed Fillmore East Auditorium in New York City back in 1969.  The album, “Live at the Fillmore East, February 1969” (February 22, 2000) features the band in a stripped-down configuration delivering their hits to a rowdy crowd.  We hope you will use the link we provide you here so you can zip on over the world’s greatest online marketplace, Amazon.com.  Once there, you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you- you will be glad you did.

We continue offering CDs by the great New York band, the Velvet Underground. The band’s eleventh album, “The Best of the Velvet Underground featuring the Words and Music of Lou Reed” came out in 1989 and is yet another compilation CD featuring the best music the band ever recorded all in one place for both the new fan as well as for the veteran.   We love this album because it contains the crème de la crème of this hardcore rock band from New York City. Once one opens the door with this record, the others seem to beckon the novice and the veteran to buy one-by-one so they become committed lifelong fans.  To own it, take the link posted above, go to Amazon.com, and buy it NOW in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you, your checkbook, and your ears—you can thank us later.
