SUMMER SESSION 2018

BLOG POST #2,879 AT THE AICP-END

FIFTY-ONE DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

Only one time have I ever mentioned issues associated with judicial matters and that was in a Facebook post
Shafter, CA, 09-18-2018 Tuesday:  Amigos, good morning, welcome to the best blog on the Internet by professional food service workers, for professional food service workers, and a place where we give those who labor in, on, or around every type of food service operation imaginable a voice they would have nowhere else.  Believe me, we are an untapped source of knowledge that the last 2-3 generations could learn something from, something I hope they take us upon because as long as the ‘snowflake generations’ continue in the manner in which, they are doing, you know, between plumb loco and overly psychotic, the future of our nation is in doubt.
Here at the blog, I do not believe that I have ever discussed judicial matters at any level because I typically leave that for those who are more informed than I am to discuss.   However, on one rare occasion when I was commenting on a post written by Chef Itzi, perhaps our final remaining hardcore liberal voice, I shared my views as to how I saw Republicans back in 2016 with their refusal to give Judge Merrick Garland a hearing.
Here is what I said on Facebook and at Linked-In:
Wednesday, February 17, 2016 Linked-In and Facebook @ the AICP-END Blog Post: “While I realize Chef Itzi did not mention the U.S. Supreme Court today, I must laugh that the GOP already begins to cave on the idea of stopping Obama from putting a liberal Democrat onto the high court.  I know that the Republicans have the spines of worms, which is why the Democrats are going to reclaim the White House and most likely the Senate this November and then it will be match.”
Now, I am not clear as to what I was referring in the final sentence, “and then it will be match” so please, amigos, give me a pass on that one.  However, the entire comment demonstrated that I had no clue as to what the GOP was going to do and that was to dig in their heels and fight the nomination of Judge Garland until after the November 2016 Elections.
Back then, I thought the GOP was going to lose BIG in November, that Hillary Clinton- once she won the nomination which there never was any doubt that she would- would either put Judge Garland onto the Supreme Court out of respect for the aid provided by then-President Obama or someone of her own choosing.
Some of you might ask then, what has happened to me, your beloved Latino host, Chef El Chilote, the man endowed with such a tool of destruction, that women and pining gays cower in fear before him- just kidding folks.  Well, I began to realize that the Democratic Party- MY party- was going off the deep end in the things it sought to do.
Back in 2016 when the Dems were RELATIVELY sane, they wanted open borders, more Muslim refugees, President Obama was intent on bringing people suffering from the Ebola virus into OUR country, ostensibly for treatment, but still, putting the nation at risk.
I began to see that Hillary Clinton was not the person I once believed her to be.  I saw her as someone out to enrich her family and her cronies’ coffers at the expense of the American people.
Furthermore, I also saw that the hierarchy of the party depended more at putting thugs (Antifa) into the street than the American people into jobs and so in continuing to move farther and farther left, I found myself left with no choice other than to take a chance on Donald Trump.  I am one of the 30-35-percent of Hispanics now in the Trump camp as are numerous members of my family.
Since Donald Trump has been our president, we have witnessed all manner of shocking events that had they happened under President Obama would have caused millions of Americans and the media, too, to cry out in outrage.
We have seen so-called comediennes holding bloody, severed, albeit facsimile heads but heads still the same while other actors and stage actresses have openly queried ‘where is John Wilkes Booth’ when you need him?
Back to the issue of the courts and who sits on them, as well as the charade we go through when Republican presidents send nominees to the Senate for confirmation, what began this past Friday as a way of derailing Brett Kavanaugh has me appalled.  Appalled, I say.
Let me put it on the table for everyone to see is the shock and distaste that I have for members of my party who are doing their best to tar and feather Judge Brett Kavanaugh.   If Senator Dianne Feinstein had this information back in July when they say she did and failed in her duty to bring it forward, then I say, “Shame on her both then and now.”
My colleagues who live in California say that they will hold their noses and vote for the little pindejo, Kevin DeLeon, a punk who was born “Kevin Leon” and who changed his name by adding a “De” before the “Leon” so he could act as though he was one of us bona fide “Latinos.”  He ain’t nothing but a punk; however, if we vote for Feinstein in November, then we tacitly endorse the crooked tactics she is employing.
We will continue with more of this issue tomorrow, especially as to how the takedown artist chosen by the California Democrats to destroy Brett Kavanaugh is little more than a partisan, liberal hack, a Bernie supporter, someone who cannot remember key details and whom it appears the Dems fear to put before the American people because of her instability as a potential witness.
Fellow Democrats: are we going to endorse behavior such as this or are we going to begin cleaning up our party?  I choose the latter.  Happy birthday, Chef Jimmy!
¡Dios te bendiga!

As have the rest of my colleagues, local Bakersfield street artist, Simone, created these portraits of me that you will see over successive days here at the blog.  I guess Simone did ‘okay’ in capturing my likeness; I guess it could have been worse.  I was a young cook back in the early 1960's when I commenced my culinary career.  I served underneath a Master Chef for many years before striking out on my own.  I went up the coast of the Western United States and Canada, working all the way, until I made it to Alaska.  From there, I moved to Hawaii for a couple of years (1994-1997) before I returned to Washington State and it was there that I met Stinkbug.
