SUMMER SESSION 2018

BLOG POST #2,878 AT THE AICP-END

FIFTY-TWO DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

As an old-style Blue Dog Democrat, the modern version of the party scares the shit out of me
Shafter, CA, 09-17-2018 Monday:   ¿Amigos, hola, ¿cómo diablos estás?  I am back for my second week of the year and am so glad to be here that I am shaking like a big dog, you know, un perro grande!  I have been watching the news nearly all the time I am not down at the restaurant in beautiful, downtown Shafter, California, perhaps one of the fastest growing cities in the Golden State but for how long, that is the number one question of the day
I have been a Democrat my entire life, back when Democrats were, well, Democrats, back before the party started shifting farther and farther left to the point that old-time Dems like me no longer recognize the party to which we once swore unswerving allegiance as it now reeks of Hugo Chavez, Che Guevara, and Fidel Castro.
I think California elected Democrats have spent far too much time in medical marijuana dispensaries ‘medicating’ their anti-Trump-frayed nerves to the point that Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, the pinche puto who seeks to follow in the oversized faux leather sandals of Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, now wants taxpayers like you and me to fully fund FREE health care for ALL illegal aliens living within our state.
Now, as your educated and opinionated host, I am aware that social media and online browsers such as our beloved host, Google, do not like it when anyone who possesses a pair of massive balls like I do, you know, cuando alguien que posee un par de bolas masivas como yo, uses the very apt term, “ILLEGAL ALIENS,” when they speak of, uh, ‘ILLEGAL ALIENS.’
Let me backtrack a moment here, we have all seen the Google execs crying on TV following the 2016 Election about ‘all the steps these dot Indians and other foreigners took to make sure that we, Latinos, turned out in record numbers to put Hillary Clinton into the White House.’
Well, the poor idiots, you know, uh, los pobres idiotas, did not reckon that large numbers of Latinos like me and members of my family were going to turn out and vote for Donald J. Trump and not that old hag, Hillary Clinton.  It was not in their algorithms.
We Latinos are as victimized by ILLEGAL ALIENS as are everyone else.  A week ago yesterday, in neighboring Bakersfield, they had an incident in which a presumed illegal alien (no one is talking right now) chased his former girlfriend into a Starbucks on a bright Sunday morning with a machete.  A MACHETE.
Now, I might use a machete when I am working on my back acre on one of my rare days off but I cannot recall the last time I saw someone chasing someone else with a machete, much less cut her up and a man who leapt in between them and saved the woman’s life.  Are we living in frigging Mexico or are we living in the United States?
So, little Gavin Newsom, the punk whom Chef Elmer labels “Silver Spoon” because he grew up in the lap of luxury, believes that my family and I as well as everyone who either owns and operates a business or works in one for an honest day’s paycheck should help fund free health care for noncitizens.  NONCITIZENS.
I was not going to vote for Gavin Newsom as I have joined the #Walkaway movement, no more am I voting for a single flipping Democrat because there is not one who resembles the sort of Democrats we once had in our state like the great builder of infrastructure, Jerry Brown’s daddy.
Something else that has irked the heck out of me is how devious old Di-Fi has become in her old age.  Like Chef Elmer and others here at the blog who live in this state, we had no option other than to vote for her because the thought of voting for California state Senator Kevin DeLeon is akin to drinking strychnine-laced Kool-AidAi, chingas!
I agree with Chef Elmer that the only way we can pay the old biddy back is by voting for this heretofore unthinkable Senator DeLeon to take her place so her final election in life is one of unbridled disaster and the loss of her seat.
As for Gavin Newsom, look, I know what they say about John Cox- his Republican challenger- that the man has lost election after election.  Well, at some point, he is going to win one, I mean Richard M. Nixon had some election losses and so did Ronald Reagan, although not on the national front other than seeking to bump out Gerald Ford in a primary.
However, I believe John Cox can win in November as once Gavin Newsom said he wants ‘open borders’ and ‘free health care at taxpayers’ expense,’ Mr. Cox pulled within 4-5 points of our slimy little lieutenant-governor.
Last year, Sacramento Democrats sought to force upon our state Obama-style health care, a plan that would have thrown out every private and government insurer and plan, and thankfully, California State Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, D-Paramount, would not allow the vote to occur because of the cost of the plan: $400 billion per year, which is double the state’s annual budget.
Summing it up, friends, the Democrats have gone loco, completely loco and it has to stop.  If we do not stop it, our kids and their kids and maybe even their kids will have to find a way to save the state and nation so in November- much to the chagrin of Google and other left-wing groups and organizations- we are going to vote for John Cox.
What’s more, we will vote for every Republican we can (other than Kevin DeLeon because that little maricón must knock Di-Fi out of her seat and into the old folks’ home).
Gonna be a great week, mis amigos, make sure you join me every day and also, make sure you buy some of the merchandise as I want to beat my colleagues in sales at the end of the year.
Muchas gracias, buen amigos!

As have the rest of my colleagues, local Bakersfield street artist, Simone, created these portraits of me that you will see over successive days here at the blog.  I guess Simone did ‘okay’ in capturing my likeness; I guess it could have been worse.  I was a young cook back in the early 1960's when I commenced my culinary career.  I served underneath a Master Chef for many years before striking out on my own.  I went up the coast of the Western United States and Canada, working all the way, until I made it to Alaska.  From there, I moved to Hawaii for a couple of years (1994-1997) before I returned to Washington State and it was there that I met Stinkbug.
El Chilote writes from Shafter, California.

El Chilote is a moderate Democrat.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Ian Gillan released his next effort in 1992, “Cherkazoo and Other Stories,” which was an oddball assortment of solo studio outtakes and material from an aborted children’s show the vocalist was working on prior to joining Deep Purple back in the late 1960s.   Considered an archival release, it contains numerous interesting nuggets that will fascinate the diehard fan as well as some newer folks seeking to revisit the past.  Please, use the link we provide you here so you can visit the world’s greatest online marketplace, Amazon.com.  Once there, you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you; you will be glad you did.

Thursday, February 06, 2014 Blog Post:

Today, we begin offering CDs by one of the greatest bands to come out of the 1960’s, the GrasRoots.  Originally, the band began as a vehicle for some songwriters but in time became its own entity and what’s more, they are still around today in one form or another.  Their debut release, “Where Were You when I needed You” came out in October 1966 and raced up the charts because of the title cut and some other tunes.  The lineup included P.F. Sloan (guitars/vocals), Steve Barri (vocals, percussion), Joel Larson and Bones Howe (drums), and Larry Knechtel (keyboards), and numerous session musicians.   Use the convenient link posted above, go to Amazon.com, and buy this awesome album NOW.
