SPRING SESSION 2018

BLOGPOST #2,784 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDRED-AND-FORTY-FOUR DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

Perhaps, Kim Jong Un can look up to Donald J. Trump- who else does he have?
Century, CA, 06-15-2018 Friday:  Yesterday, we began talking about the glorious spectacle we witnessed late this past Monday night, the honest emotional connection between older President Donald J. Trump and younger—and in my view, extremely isolated—Kim Jong Un.  It truly seemed as though a crack in the façade separating the Hermit Kingdom from the rest of the world appeared and that if things go the way in which, they should, we might see a lessening of tension, an opening of the door to the world, and a prosperous North Korea one day.
Sadly, far too many people lack education regarding the Second World War and our role in it but Japan was such a nation, bent on dominating their part of the world in league with the Nazis and the Fascist Italians as well as their lesser Axis members.
They started a major war and committed all manner of atrocities against POWs and civilians and it took a massive pushback of Imperial Japanese forces via a bloody and brutal island-hopping campaign and an around-the-clock strategic bombing campaign to bring them to their knees.
Even then, the Japanese, with few remaining, un-flattened cities to their name and millions of war dead still determined to fight to protect the home islands from invasion, which in the end did not occur thanks to the use of two atomic bombs, one on Hiroshima and the other on Nagasaki to force them to surrender.
The United States did not want the war, we did not seek it, we did not even declare war on Nazi Germany to aid the British until the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and then a day or two later, the Nazis and the Fascist Italians declared war on US.  Only then, did President Franklin Delano Roosevelt demand a declaration of war on the Axis powers and as you SHOULD know, the rest is history.
With the Japanese surrender, the humiliated survivors submitted to us, even though it must have killed them to throw open the ‘doors to the kingdom and to give us the keys.’  We embraced our former enemies as time progressed and as you know, the rest is history here, too, as we helped rebuild Japan into the modern prosperous nation it now is just as we also helped South Korea become the economic engine that it now is.
If Kim does not suffer toppling in a coup d’ êtat by dead-ender military leaders, he has a chance to see the same economic improvement for his country as occurred for Japan and the former Japanese colony of South Korea.  It won’t happen overnight; yet, it will happen and as President Trump showed him what the possibilities could be via a polished film reminiscent of Hollywood, he showed him what the future might be.
We will never bring Kim to account for the mass murder and atrocity that has occurred in his country but we also must remember, he is the third in a line of hardcore communists to whom life meant little to nothing and the ‘revolution’ meant it all.
I suspect that with the power of the sanctions strangling him and causing his military to go without food, Kim arrived at the conclusion that he lacked the choice to continue the fight and so decided that if he could engineer a transformation in the attitude of his country for the past 70-plus years, maybe he could expunge his guilt and that of his father and grandfather by rejoining the civilized world.
If you read our blog with any frequency, then you know that when Chef Tiresias wrote about communism and other leftist political ideologies, communism never attains the promised land because it gets stuck on the third level, the dictatorship of the proletariat.
Moreover, knowledgeable people generally do not want to become communists because in so doing, one surrenders every part of their being to the government who has ‘winners’ whom it subsidizes and provides for and loads of ‘losers’ whose labors provide the subsidies.
What’s more, I believe that if the Democrats and Trump-hating Republicans do not do everything in their power to sabotage the initial things emanating out of the Singapore Summit 2018 and that the North Korean hardliners do not topple young Kim, we might see lasting change, good change, not the crap we saw the last presidential administration do with Iran or with Cuba.
The last president made the world a far more dangerous place by coddling losers such as the mullahs ruling Iran and the worthless pieces of trash running the show in Havana.  Perhaps with North Korea opening the door, their aid to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard will throw a monkey wrench into the gears of their nuclear weapons program, which would be great.
I also think that fearful U.S. farmers need to relax about the difficulties between our Western allies and our nation over the tariffs the President has put into place because I bet my eye teeth that American foodstuffs will be heading to North Korea and the farmers will benefit enormously.
Friends, thank you for joining me today and throughout this week; we will continue discussing the issues of the day and praying that the Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans will take a breath and work to bring about lasting peace between our two nations and the rest of the world.
See you tomorrow, my friends, ciao.

This is a photo of me at an ACF Convention back in the early 1960's when I was a representative from our California chapter.  Anyhow, I am a great deal older than this picture now but that's what we're doing, sharing OLD pictures of all of us.  I am still a handsome man, however!
