SPRING SESSION 2018

BLOGPOST #2,771 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDRED-AND-FIFTY- SEVEN DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

What happened to Roseanne Barr is sad but not unusual
Oildale, CA, 06-02-2018 Saturday: As we all know, this past Tuesday, ABC fired comedienne Roseanne Barr as she said some hurtful things about Barack Hussein Obama confidante and behind-the-scenes manipulator Valerie Jarrett.  While I do not approve of what Ms. Barr said, what I do approve of is if one side can use whatever sort of speech they choose then so should the other side.  It just seems that never is the case and anyone on the right or purported to be on the right or who supports Donald J. Trump, always receives increased punishment for far less than anyone on the left ever does.
In fact, it almost always appears that the crazier, more hateful thing a leftist says is ‘okay’ as it is preaching to the choir, my friends, preaching to the choir.  In fact, the ONLY person whom I know suffered a misstep in her career was Kathy Griffin who found herself in trouble over some dumb-ass picture of her holding what appeared to be a severed head of President Donald J. Trump.
The American Left always suffers from amnesia, they say and do all manner of things, many of them outright mean, ugly, hateful, and untrue.
Yet, if someone on the right side does something far less comparable, that person either must resign from whatever position he or she has or someone on the right will tell them to go such as when Senator John McCain lambasted Bill Cunningham, host of “The Big Show” in Cincinnati, Ohio, back in 2008.
At the time, many of us in the “McCain Camp,” you know, it was him OR the other guy, Barack Hussein Obama, first term senator from Illinois, or Senator Hillary Clinton found ourselves appalled, not by what the wild and crazy Bill Cunningham said but what Senator McCain did to him in post-speech remarks.
You ask, ‘what did Bill Cunningham say?’  Well, Mr. Cunningham was introducing the irascible old senator from Arizona at a campaign rally when Mr. Cunningham had the temerity to use the middle name of then-Senator Barack Hussein Obama.
He made some other comments such as he was ‘not going to treat Senators Obama and Hillary Clinton’ (who were still doing battle with one another to win the nomination of the Democrat Party thanks to Rush Limbaugh and his “Operation Chaos”) ‘like the national media was doing,’ which drove the crowd wild with abandon.
Up until that time, the national media tiptoed around saying nothing out of the ordinary about either Senator Obama or Clinton as much like now, they were all sleeping in the same bed and using the same CPAP machine.
Senator McCain was the one tiptoeing around, he could not bring himself to say anything negative about his opponents, which is what was driving Republicans bonkers at the time.  We wanted OUR guy to go out there, jump down into the trenches, and do battle with the devious Democrats as even then, we knew that neither a ‘President Barack Obama’ or a “President Hillary Clinton” would be a good thing for our nation.
We knew that Senator McCain had a snowball’s chance in hell at winning the White House as once he heard what Billy Cunningham said, McCain addressed reporters by saying the following:
“It’s my understanding that before I came in here a person who was on the program before I spoke made some disparaging remarks about my two colleagues in the Senate, Senator Obama and Senator Clinton.  I have repeatedly stated my respect for Senator Obama and Senator Clinton, that I will treat them with respect.  I will call them “Senator.”  We will have a respectful debate, as I have said on hundreds of occasions.  I regret any comments I regret any comments that may have been made about these two individuals who are honorable Americans.”   (Laugh Lines; the Caucus, 02-26-2008, 1:54 P.M.)
Senator McCain (God bless him for dealing with the cancer he is) was a lackluster candidate (and now, an anti-Trump ass) whom we all knew was not going to win.  In fact, the only bright spot in his attempt at winning the White House was his addition of Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin to the ticket.
Sadly, the Arizona senator was but one more wimp in a long procession of timid Republicans who always back away from controversial things.  The funny thing about Roseanne Barr is that she is a creature of the left, once much-beloved by them but now, another addition to the ever-growing human wastebasket of discarded libs.
She joins Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and a whole host of others who found themselves sacrificial lambs, people who had to go away so the rest could survive.  ABC must have been shocked that their first Number One hit show in 24 years, the reboot of “Roseanne,” had to hit the road but deep down in their hearts, its success must have terrified them.
I am sure we have not heard the last from Roseanne.  See you tomorrow.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

Friday, September 09, 2011 Blog Post:

As promised yesterday, we have the first solo album by rhythm guitarist and vocalist, Bob Weir, of the Grateful Dead.  He teamed up with a new songwriting partner, lyricist John Barlow, abandoning Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, and the new songs were great.  The album, entitled, “Ace,” (1972) was an excellent addition to the Grateful Dead’s live shows as every song, except for “Walk in the Sunshine,” becoming much-loved crowd staples.  Some critics at the time dismissed it as a collection of ‘cowboy songs,’ but we at the blog believe it to be a GREAT album.  All members of the Grateful Dead were the backing group including Keith and Donna Godchaux, except for Pigpen, who was approaching the end of his life, alcoholism destroying his liver.  Still, he was there in spirit.  We urge you to seek this album out at Amazon.com by using the link we have for you here—it is a must-have addition to your collection of Dead Heads’ favorites.

Saturday, November 02, 2013 Blog Post:

The sophomore effort by VanillFudge, “The Beat Goes On,” came out in February 1968 and was thematic in nature thanks to the input of the producer.  The album was not as successful as the debut effort but still made the charts, which is why we urge you to use the link we provide you here.  Use it and go to Amazon.com where you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you.  You will be glad you did as this band ranks among one of the United States’ best East Coast psychedelic bands.  Check it out now.
