SUMMER SESSION 2018

BLOG POST #2,798 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDRED-AND-THIRTY DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

I believe that much of what President Obama did he did for the good of the country; however, throwing open the borders to massive inflows of illegal aliens and to Muslim ‘refugees’ was a horrible mistake
Arvin, CA, 06-29-2018 Friday: Approximately 18 months ago, I wrote a post in February 2017 in which, I somewhat supported President Donald J. Trump’s stand on preventing people from predominantly Muslim countries entering our country because it was fact-based.  Although the President surely could have said things better, I did not see how the lower courts could prevent him in his effort to keep out Muslims from a variety of hotspots as it is the job of the President to determine who can and who cannot enter the country.
Many of my friends went spastic on me, thinking I was somehow supporting President Trump at the time, which I was not, at least not then, I was not.  However, the presidential administration is the body having the power to determine who can and who cannot enter our country as well as having the power to enforce existing laws
What is all the hubbub about concerning how the Supreme Court of the United States ruled 5-4 that the so-called third “Muslim ban” was constitutional?   Of course, it is constitutional and our nation’s Border Patrol must enforce the laws!
I contend that everyone with half a brain or more understands that unrestricted flows of people from around the globe into our country is dangerous and does nothing good for us.
During the eight years under Barack Obama, we allowed in MORE Muslims that probably any other president has while restricting the inflow of Christians and other religious minorities hanging by a thread throughout the Middle East as jihadi groups rolled them up.
I know many on my side of the aisle believe that any restriction on who can and who cannot enter the country is wrong.  They also believe that open borders are somehow next to godliness, which in my view is both ludicrous and harmful misinformation.  Our nation is under NO obligation to open our borders and to welcome hordes of so-called “Muslim refugees,” whom many see as the tip of the spear in an invasion force
I have a quarrel with my party over their narcissistic belief that once here, they can somehow control the massive inflow of people who view us inimically, who want to impose their ways of life on us, and who will force us, whether we want to do so or we do not, to accept their lifestyles.  A clitorectomy, anyone?
There is no way I would ever force any of my kids to ‘submit’ to their erroneous, evil lifestyles as once these people take over a country, their despicable minarets go up like noxious toadstools, their Islamic schools hurl open their doors and ‘invite’ non-Muslims to attend, and next thing you know, your women and girls must dress in the misogynistic clothing in order to prevent the scumbags from raping them.
If we need evidence as to how these Muslim invaders behave, all we need do is to observe what has already occurred in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, and other European countries.
Furthermore, I truly believe that Islam is going to be the death of Europe and of every other country around the world fighting to thwart this massive exodus of people from the Middle East into traditionally Christian lands who despise our ways of life.
I will always believe that much of what Barack Obama did for the United States and for our European allies he did because he thought that what he was doing was correct; however, I also believe that he sold our nation short by flinging open the doors to the nation to illegal aliens and to Muslim ‘refugees.’  None of these people are ‘refugees,’ they are all invaders and we as Americans must demand our politicians to stop further inflows.
Although I realize I could be burning some of my bridges to my friends and family, I rest assured that many of them slowly are awakening to the fact that unless we do something to challenge the current crop of Democrat leaders, our country is going to find itself in a dangerous situation, one we may have a challenging time correcting when threatened by those to whom we have extended a ‘hand.’
In closing, I will say that I am perplexed by what I see going on.  Yes, President Trump is a bombastic, counter-punching troglodyte, a president none of us has ever encountered in our lifetime.
However, I believe he is fighting for the future of the country and as I see improvement in the economy, people returning to work, North Korea standing down (as of now), and fighting to control our borders, I will accept his negatives along with the positives.
How about you?  Can you find it within yourself to do the same?  Once we lose the country, there will be no way of ever getting it back.

This is a facsimile of me as a young chef back in the 1960's when I was working as a sous chef at a fine dining restaurant, the Victor Hugo, over on the coast around Newport, California.  I began my career working as a pot washer at the age of 10, move to washing dishes in 1958, became a chef's apprentice in 1961 and have been a career professional ever since.  I am still involved in professional foodservice as a consultant for food and beverage professionals.  Famed Bakersfield street artist Simone created the cartoonish figure of me, which appears to be ‘me’ but I hope I look better than how he portrayed me.  You are the judge.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Deep Purple released their next live effort on November 15, 2015, “Live in Stuttgart 1993,” in support of their then recent studio effort, “The Battle Rages On.”  Since the group had fired a problematic Joe Lynn Turner the previous year, we now return to the era of the Mk. II lineup in which we have vocalist Ian Gillian back alongside Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), Richie Blackmore (guitars), and Jon Lord (keyboards).  This album is an amazing live effort featuring nearly four-plus hours of hard-driving rock-and-roll.  Please, use the link we provide you here, so you can go to Amazon.com where you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you- you will be glad you did.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

The next addition to the growing Dick’s Picks series by the Grateful Dead is “Dick’s Picks Vol. 4—the Fillmore East, New York City, NY, 2/13-to-14/70.”  This show is one of the all-time best concerts from the early days of the band featuring material from the start up-to “Workingman’s Dead” as well as crowd favorites including the first time on record, “Mason’s Children.”  If there is one thing we can tell you about the Grateful Dead, the band continued morphing and changing all the time and here, the music swirls in and around the ears and gaping minds of the listeners/viewers.  Add to that the fact that Pigpen does yet another stellar rendition of “Turn on Your Lovelight” and you have a stoned rock-and-roll party on a night that moves into early morning.  Please, seek this CD out at Amazon.com so you can check it out in the format, the condition, and the price that is best for you.
