SPRING SESSION 2018

BLOGPOST #2,776 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDRED-AND-FIFTY-TWO DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

After Tuesday’s California primary races, things are looking so much better in our once golden state
San Luis Obispo, CA, 06-07-2018 Thursday:  There is always so much to discuss and never enough time.  People say that election results here in California could be a definitive signpost as to which way the 2020 Election will go, as some expect the Democrats are going to mop the floor with Republicans from top to bottom.  At the time I began working on this post, I had no clue as to which way the election this past Tuesday was going to go but let me say a few things first.
The left feels that they work for the good of the people when in truth, they work for the good of themselves and no one else.  They seek to advance their own ends much like waterborne parasites would, seeking to infest the host and then drive the victim to the brink of madness.  Has no one ever watched an episode of “Monsters Inside Me?”  They sure as heck need a story about how Democrats infest a state with sickness and then suck the life’s blood out of it.
As people began going to the polls this past Tuesday, most everyone in the state—other than the extremely wealthy—faced the same troubling problems.  We face higher taxes just as we face fees and costs on virtually everything whether gasoline taxes, energy costs, and the costs of simply opening the doors and doing business.
California, ever to be at the forefront of everything continues pushing up wages just as they seek to overtax the people employing them.  It forces us as employers to determine for whom we are going to reduce hours, whom we are going to terminate, and how many hours we can afford to be open throughout the week.
Elizondo and I have no desire to put long-term employees out on the street but there is no other way we can keep them if the General Election in November does not go the way that millions of employers and workers hope it is going to go.
However, if the Dems somehow reclaim power by hook or by crook, their focus will be on one thing and one thing only: retribution, payback, and punishment for those who spoke out against them and their crooked policies.
Many Californians fully expect that the Democrats of the state and nation will exact their retribution in any way they can.  They want to force sanctuary state and city policies down our throats, putting the ‘needs’ and the ‘rights’ of illegal alien felons over those of us born here or who have moved here from other parts of the nation.
As I have said earlier in the week, people used to flock to California to establish themselves and their families in a state that promised all sorts of opportunities at moving ahead and making a life for oneself.  If one was a failure somewhere else, one could come here, reboot their lives and businesses, and find new success.  The only thing stopping them was the limits of their imaginations.
Well, on Tuesday, we witnessed the first cracks in the phony façade behind which the Democrats hide and do their dirty work.  Everyone figured that “Pretty Boy” Gavin Newsom and former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa were going to come in numbers one and two in the race for the gubernatorial mansion.  Wrong!  Republican John Cox is going to challenge Newsom and could very well beat the pasty-faced adulterer.
What we learned in the seven or eight states that held primary elections this past Tuesday is that GOP turnout was high, dwarfing that of liberals most everywhere which nixes their hoped-for ‘blue wave.’  It will be interesting to see how their ginned-up lunatic base is going to respond when the Dems go down to smoking defeat in November.
For a brief period, it appeared as though Republican Travis Allen might come in Number Three in the gubernatorial race but it appears that Villaraigosa managed to maintain that position.  What it tells us, however, is that there is enough smoldering anger among voters out there to give businessman John Cox an opportunity to wrest the governorship away from the little ‘pretty boy’ with the mean eyes.
Sadly, the race for lieutenant governor will be between two Democrats.  Republican Cole Harris came in third but I suspect his inability either to state his party affiliation in his campaign ads or to ask for an endorsement from President Trump caused him to fall to the two Dems.
In November, Eleni Kounalakis came in first while Ed Hernandez came in second.  These two will square off in the General Election, which will be problematic for John Cox should he win the governor’s race as whenever the governor of the state is somewhere else in the nation or the world, his underling can do whatever he or she wants to do, which is why it would be so much better to have a tandem race here in the state.
Perhaps one day our governor and lieutenant governor candidates for each party will run on a ‘ticket’ as the president and vice president do in national elections.  That way, there would be more harmony at the top in both the direction and the ways and means of accomplishing them.
Friends, this is going to do it for today, please join me here tomorrow around one minute past midnight and we will continue with our statewide and local races.  I look forward to seeing you here so make sure you do come.  Bye.

FEATURED ALBUM OF THE DAY:

Deep Purple released a classic blast from the past, “Live at Montreux ’69,” (August 2006), which featured the Mk. II lineup at the very beginning of its incarnation.  The band was beginning to play music from “In Rock” just as it was some from the earlier Mk.  I lineup.  If you would like to have a good historical recording in good sound quality, this is an awesome piece for you to own so please, use the link we provide you here, so you can visit Amazon.com—the world’s greatest online marketplace—where you can find the album in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

Wednesday, September 14, 2011 Blog Post:

The next album by the Grateful Dead was a wonderful studio release and both the fans and the music press showered it with praise.  The band now consisted of Jerry Garcia (guitars/vocals), Bob Weir (guitars/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Billy KreutzmannKeith Godchaux (piano/vocals), and wife, Donna (vocals).  This album generated a new generation of crowd favorites from “U.S. Blues” (Garcia) to “Money, Money” (Weir) to “Pride of Cucamonga” and “Unbroken Chain” (Lesh).  We love this CD, entitled, “The Grateful Dead Live from the Mars Hotel,” (1974) and highly urge you to seek it out at Amazon.com by using the link we provide you here so you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for YOU—you will be so glad you did—it is GREAT!

Thursday, November 07, 2013 Blog Post:

In 1984VanillFudge reformed with the original four members, Mark Stein (keyboards/vocalist), Carmine Appice (drums/vocals), Tim Bogert (bass/vocals), and Vince Martell (guitars/vocals) with a special surprise guest: the legendary guitarist, Jeff Beck, aka J. Toad.  The ensuing effort by the band, “Mystery,” demonstrates that a long lay-off and that performing with other bands and musicians did not dampen their fire to perform, which is why we urge you to use the link we provide you here, so you can pick the album up by going to Amazon.com.  Once there, you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and at the price that works best for you.  Please, check it out- this band is exceptional.
