SPRING SESSION 2018

BLOGPOST #2,736 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDRED-AND-NINETY- TWO DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

We want Donald Trump out of office; but is it worth the blowback if we succeed?
Kihei, HI, 04-28-2018 Saturday: Although the Resistance Movement is a just one, meaning I believe we must defeat Donald Trump at all costs, I fear at times we are making things extraordinarily difficult that it might cause blowback for us.  My fear is that when we recapture the White House in 2020, if we have not vanquished the Republicans in the House and Senate to the point where they can offer only a token resistance, then we could see similar roadblocks as we now see our side doing to President Trump.
I believe millions of Americans are now with us than against us, that millions of them who cast votes for the present fraudulent commander-in-disaster wish they could reclaim those lost votes and give them to someone willing to cross the aisle and in a spirit of bi-partisanship move the country forward instead of keeping it trapped in the swamp.
Every Hawaiian Republican with whom, I interact all have expressed that they wish they could make their 2016 votes ‘right.’  What they tell me is that voting for Donald Trump was a lark, that the prospect of “Crooked Hillary” (what Trump labeled her as) was too much to bear.  However, if they had an opportunity to make things ‘right,’ they would do it in a heartbeat.
Who can blame them?  I mean, if I allowed this scam artist to seduce me in a night of drunken abandon and then the next day when I awoke and understood the gravity of what I had done the night before, I would want to throw myself out the window and onto the street, four stories below.
This is what many Hawaiian Republicans tell me, that they suffer regret, shame, and self-loathing for having cast a vote for Donald J. Trump.  Moreover, they tell me that the man is little more than a grifter, a huckster, one out to make a quick buck at the expense of the American people.  How ashamed they are!
Instead of we, Democrats, calling them all sorts of vile names, we must embrace our wayward brothers and sisters as though they were the Prodigal Son.  We must tell them that we understand that like the college-aged girl who spent the night with some derelict she met at a dance that we understand, that we forgive her, and that we will enable her to make amends.
I think as women, we all have allowed some detestable Casanova-like creep to lead us astray when we were younger.  That in our drunken revelry, we saw them as some variety of cavalier man of the world when in truth, they were a toothless miscreant who found a suit, put it on, and then plied us with double shots of bourbon all night.  Then, they took us home and did the deed, pushing us out on the street before we even got ours.
If you think I am speaking of myself, yes, yes, I am.  When I was a young woman out in the world for the first time and away from home, I did things that caused me a great deal of shame.  We see our fellow American brothers and sisters stumbling about with a Trump hangover and a case of the clap.  They need our help and I say we give it to them.
We give it to them by letting them know we forgive them.  We help them by schooling them on the right way to vote, which is the LEFT.  We care about people, our opponents do not.
We want everyone to succeed in the battles of life where our opponents want to oppress the common working-class folks, want to punish those who choose to walk different paths, and defend their wealthy donors while people live homeless on the streets.
Back to my fears concerning blowback, it might not be a horrible thing to give Mr. Trump his cabinet, ambassadorial, and judgeship picks as when we win the White House next time, we might find ourselves caught in the web of tit-for-tat.  That would not be good.  While I realize we are still angry over the lack of hearing Merrick Garland received, we should not stretch the tactics of obstruction out overly long.
Then again, mayhap I am worried about nothing.  I guess we shall see.  See you tomorrow, aloha!

The next album by the Steve Miller Band was another MONSTER album, “Fly like an Eagle,” (1976) an album with THREE monster singles and a wide variety of musical styles woven together like a well-written book.  Built upon a trio of Steve Miller (guitars/vocals), Lonnie Turner (bass), and Gary Mallaber (drums), many other big name musical hitters joined the cast, ranging from guitar maestro Les Dudek to James Cotton on harmonica, the album shone from start to finish.  Besides the title cut, “Take the Money and Run” and “Rock-n-Me” were gigantic hits, too, which is why you need to seek this album out in the form, the condition, and the price that is right for you so go to Amazon.com—you will thank us for sending you there.

Wednesday, October 02, 2013 Blog Post:

In August 1970the Association released their next album, “The Association Live.”  The album was recorded earlier before the departure of Giguere with the same lineup of Terry Kirkman (wind instruments, percussion, and vocals), Larry Ramos (lead guitar/vocals), Russ Giguere (rhythm guitar/vocals/percussion), Brian Cole (bass/vocals/percussion), Ted Bluechel, Jr. (drums/percussion/bass/rhythm guitar), and Jim Yester (rhythm guitar/vocals/keyboards) PLUS original member, Jules Alexander (also lead guitar/vocals).  This is a great album, we love it, originally released as a 2-LP set, it is worth every dime spent buying it.  Please use the link you find here, riding it to Amazon.com, where you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that rocks your socks.
