We Democrats must accept the fact that we will lose an occasional presidential election but what we cannot do is to contest them the way we are doing now: a lawsuit, REALLY?

SPRING SESSION 2018

BLOGPOST #2,731 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDRED-AND-NINETY- SEVEN DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

I get it, we want Donald Trump gone; however, do we have to destroy the Democratic Party to accomplish it?
Kihei, HI, 04-23-2018 Monday:  Good morning, greetings from Kihei on the gorgeous island of Maui.  Although we now have more people than we can handle here in paradise, we still see the best sunsets in the world as the sun heads out to sea.  Lately, we have had to live through some violent storms with much destruction, once again on Kauai.  Twenty-five years ago, Maui expected a direct hit from Hurricane Iniki, which veered off its trajectory at the last minute and moved over to the Garden Isle, tearing them up badly.
As a Democrat living in a Democratic state, I feel that it is okay for me to be critical of the stuff taking place on the Mainland.  Look, I get it, Donald Trump is a mess, we do not like the man and we want him out of the White House and Hillary Clinton in her rightful place.  However, we are going down some very lolo paths, friends, the sort of alleyways that drive people to even greater lunacy and dire deeds.
Whether we like it, or we do not, we are going to lose some elections and when the elections go out the window, we must accept the loss without allowing it to drive us bat-crap crazy.  What we cannot do is to contest every election a Republican candidate wins as if we do and do not begin taking the high road in lost presidential races, I fear the repercussions for our party will be still greater losses.
Again, the idea that there is a President Donald J. Trump is depressing, it is obvious that the man lacks the ability and the moral virtue to do the job, which is reason enough to fill the House and Senate with more Democrats in November.  Not necessarily to impeach him, as that would leave negative repercussions for our party, too, but to hamstring him and keep him under our control.
If we were to impeach President Trump and either fail in removing him from office, it would be bad for us just as removing him, would be, too, as it would fire up his supporters.
What’s more, we live with a certain number of far-left lunatics in our base, people who continue pushing us farther and farther left to the point that it no longer makes sense to be a ‘Democrat’ as the party no longer is the “Democratic Party” but the ‘Democratic-Socialist Party of the USA.’
Look at the issue with Robert Mueller, James Comey, and Andrew McCabe—among others.  We thought we were going to find irrefutable proof that Donald J. Trump and members of his campaign colluded with Vladimir Putin and the Russians to steal the election from Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2016 and then obstructed justice to protect their evil secret.
News flash: there is NO evidence after 15 months of digging and the few charges against low-level hacks (other than Michael Flynn) reeks of embarrassment.  Imagine, the millions of dollars wasted on this wild goose chase, at what point is it going to come back around and bite us on the ass?
We hear how the Democratic Party base is ‘fired up’ to go to the polls in November.  Well, I can tell you with my ear placed firmly to the ground that the fire blazing away among the GOP voters is making ours look like a small, sputtering campfire.
Oh, yes, Republicans are mad, even here in Hawaii, and that does not smell of victory to me but to a possibility we have not had the misfortune to see in a long, long time: Republicans regaining control and driving our party into the wilderness.
Last Friday, in a last gasp measure, the Democratic Party hierarchy, Tom Perez, Keith Ellison, and others, launched a lawsuit in New York seeking damages from President Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., Paul Manafort, Vladimir Putin, Wikileaks, and God knows who else for ‘interfering and colluding in the 2016 Presidential Election.’
Now, I am just a simple female chef living and working in Hawaii but even I recognize this action as a last-ditch effort to throw something against the wall—including the kitchen sink, hoping it will stick.  Unfortunately, stupidity such as this is going to cause us further embarrassment and will add fuel to the GOP fire, which unless we regain some common sense, is going to cost us big in November.  Yikes.
Friends, I will rejoin you tomorrow so please make sure you come back so we can continue our dialog.  Please, leave some comments and become a follower of our blog.  Show us you care and enjoy the quality articles we post here seven days a week.
Aloha.

This is a photo of me back in the 1980's when I was the Executive Chef at a fine-dining restaurant out in Lahaina, HI, on the beautiful island of Maui.  I began my culinary career in the late 1960’s while living on my home island of Oahu and after spending some time in California during the 1990’s, I returned to my native Hawaii and am currently running a gourmet restaurant in Kihei, HI.  My experience has been in fine dining, but I have also spent time running a hospital kitchen as both a dietician and as a Cook IV.

SPECIAL ALBUMS OF THE DAY:

Sunday, July 31, 2011 Blog Post:

The Steve Miller Band moved into a more rock-and-roll direction with each album and “Number 5” (1970) was a clear example of the style and type of music the band would do for the next four-plus decades.  We love this album, it features more of less the same lineup of Miller (guitars/vocals), Tim Davis (drums/vocals), Lonnie Turner (bass/vocals), Benny Sidran (keyboards) as well as quite a few guests sitting in on various songs.  We urge everyone to seek this CD out by using our link to redirect your browser to Amazon.com where you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that works for you—you will be glad you did.  We thank you for your patronage.

Friday, September 27, 2013 Blog Post:

In June 1967the Association released their next effort, “Insight Out.”  This album featured a pair of monster hits, “Windy,” and “Never My Love,” along with a changing style more akin to the times.  The album featured almost the same lineup of Terry Kirkman (wind instruments, percussion, and vocals), Larry Ramos (the new guy) (lead guitar/vocals), Russ Giguere (rhythm guitar/vocals/percussion), Brian Cole (bass/vocals/percussion), Ted Bluechel, Jr. (drums/percussion/bass/rhythm guitar), and Jim Yester (rhythm guitar/vocals/keyboards).  If you want to broaden your musical horizons, get in on the ground floor with this fascinatingly great pop-rock band that dominated radio airwaves for several years, you need to own this album.  You can do it by using the link you find here, riding it to Amazon.com, where you can pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that rocks your socks.
