The ONLY way we will ever be able to end Tom Brady and the New England Patriots is if Eli Manning and the New York Giants can get it together and give us Manning-Brady III in 2019

WINTER SESSION 2017

BLOGPOST #2,617 AT THE AICP-END

THREE HUNDRED-AND-NINE DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2018

NEW YEAR’S EVE 2017

KWANZAA CELEBRATION 2017 DAY NUMBER SIX

We conclude our discussion of the New England Patriots today and what it takes to vanquish the damned team
Oildale, CA, 12-31-2017 Sunday: Welcome to the New Year’s Eve edition of the fabulous American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, a place where we urge everyone to celebrate with abandon but keeping an eye on NOT driving drunk or putting anyone else at risk because you make a dimwitted decision.  We want everyone to arrive home safe and in one piece and since I no longer imbibe nor go out, my wife and I do not have to worry about hitting anyone or having some ass illegal alien running into us.
Yesterday, we discussed the New England Patriots and how teams—at their own risk—seem to think they can beat them.  A week before sans some key players, an upstart Miami Dolphins team beat the Patriots because they had a high-firing defense that was all over Tom Brady as much as possible causing him to make errors, hurry up, and suffer several sacks.
Meanwhile, the offensive line protected quarterback Jay Cutler, someone not known for avoiding careless turnovers, costly mistakes, and other incomprehensible errors that drive fans to want to commit hari-kari.  Yet, on that night, the Dolphins jumped out and took the lead and maintained it up until the final snap, making the Patriots look tired and fatigued and Tom Brady extremely old.
As we discussed yesterday, the Steelers should have had the Patriots but allowed them to recover in the following week’s game, the Sunday Night Game on December 17, 2017.  Instead of kicking a field goal to tie the game, the Steelers rushed a play and turned the ball over in the end zone.  Shock of shocks?  No, something totally expected given the history of the two teams.
Last year, we watched the Atlanta Falcons ALMOST destroy the Patriots in Super Bowl LI, but it became apparent—at least to me—that the Falcons began to suffer from self-doubt in the second half.
I am sure the players on the Falcons team were thinking, ‘can we really do this’ and then sitting on a lead, began to play extremely conservatively thereby allowing the Patriots to get back in the game and eventually win it by a final score of 34-28.
Granted, lengthy halftime shows do not aid a team with the hot hand to maintain it and I wish they would cut out all the crap the league inflicts on the viewers in the middle of an otherwise enjoyable experience.  Bruno Mars?  Please, throw him and all the rest of the little fairies out and let’s return to marching bands and displays of patriotism.
Anyhow, I would urge every team in playoff contention facing the Patriots to not make mistakes that have afflicted other teams.  If you think you are going to win on some sneaky play, the Patriots have most likely seen it already or Bill Belichick has envisioned it.  If having a chance to beat the Pats meaning tying a game up and going to overtime, then for God’s sake, DO IT.
In closing, I want to see the Patriots go down, but I can tell you given the weakness in the AFC right now, I do not see any of their competitors beating them, thus denying them another opportunity to return to yet another Super Bowl.
That is, unless someone with mojo on the NFC side such as a hot New Orleans Saints, a team with amazing offense and now stunning defense, gets an opportunity to meet them.  Now, that would be something to see.
Still, many harbors this forlorn hope that Eli Manning and the New York Giants will somehow recover and return to form and then get back to the Super Bowl, maybe next year, as that might be the only way to send Tommy Brady into retirement, beat him in Manning-Brady III by a resounding score.  Suggestion to Giants ownership: Bring back Coach Tom Coughlin.
Ah, well, have a great New Year’s Eve celebration and I will see you here tomorrow morning on New Year’s Day 2018 at 12:01 A.M.  Please, be safe.
