THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF CULINARY POLITICS-ELEMENTAL NEWS OF THE DAY COMMENTARY-OPINION-SPORTS-FOOD SERVICE FOR MONDAY, AUGUST 14, 2017 BY CHEF BRIAN C. CARRICK

SUMMER SESSION 2017

BLOGPOST #2,478 AT THE AICP-END

TWO HUNDRED-AND-SEVENTY-NINE DAYS AFTER ELECTION DAY

After more than 18 months, I am back
Oildale, CA, 08-14-2017 Monday: Friends, hello, and welcome to the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day.  It has been quite a while since I last did some posts, perhaps more than 18 months or so ago as I have been somewhat ill.  Granted, I do my best to participate at times by doing work on the Facebook page of our blog as well as hosting lively debates with millennial snowflake twits at our Google Plus page.  It is amazing to me how many dimwits, dunderheads, and idiots there are in this world, hence the need to educate as many of them as we possibly can.
I was behind Donald J. Trump as far back as the day he proceeded down the escalator at Trump Tower with wife, Melania, and family by his side, to toss his hat into the bulging GOP potential presidential candidates ring.
At the time, I had no clue as to what Mr. Trump was doing was for show but it did not take long to comprehend that he was in it to win it, especially after the first debate in which, Megyn Kelly ripped into him.
There was a time when I had some respect for Ms. Kelly but I lost all of it after watching her attempted but failed hatchet job on Mr. Trump on the night of August 06, 2015.
Moreover, she made clear to all who have gray matter throbbing within the confines of their skulls that she was totally in the tank with those who sought to destroy the New York billionaire at whatever cost it took to do so.  I am so glad she left Fox News Channel and that she now lingers in media limbo because NO one cares about the skank.
Anyhow, all insults aside, Donald Trump vanquished every GOP candidate brave enough to challenge him and man, oh, man, there certainly were large numbers of them, sort of like tadpoles trapped in brackish water when the Kern River subsides.
As I said, I liked Donald Trump but I also favored Senator Ted Cruz as I thought he would make a fine president.  However, Mr. Trump was bold and abrasive enough to fling his thoughts all over the media, no matter what form it presented to him and he never backed down from all the jabs, thrusts, and whacks he took.
I found that extremely refreshing because up until the entry of Donald J. Trump into the fray, I feared that we would end up with yet another Bush, this one in the form of lackluster Jeb, a prospect that appalled me because there was no way I could cast another vote for yet another member of the Bush Family.
Had Jeb won the nomination somehow, whether through subterfuge or through winning it outright, I would have been in a quandary of sorts because how could I—a lifelong Republican—consider casting a vote for a Bush, alternating between a Bush, a Democrat, a Bush, yet another Democrat, and then still another Bush?  What are we, a banana republic in which only a few well-placed descendants of a family can run for office?
You see, that would have been the rub for not only me but for millions of loyal Americans, how can we continue voting for someone from one family as opposed to someone from another presidential family, it would have made a mockery of our political system.
In saying this, I hope never to see another member of the Clintons, the Bushes, or even the Obamas seeking the highest office in the land as that is one of the things the Framers of the Constitution overlooked when crafting the nation’s founding documents.
Furthermore, no one from any family should be able to run for at least 10-15 years after another member exits office.  How about an amendment stating such a thing?
Friends, this will do it for today and note, we will continue tomorrow.  I look forward to seeing all of you here because I am glad to be back.  I also hope you will leave some comments and follow me at Google Plus as well as on Facebook.
Moreover, please be sure to buy the excellent music we advertise here seven days a week as well as at the secondary blog because your purchases keep our two blogs online around the clock.
Thanks, I will see you tomorrow.
