SPRING SESSION 2017

BLOGPOST #2,419 AT THE AICP-END

TWO HUNDRED-AND-TWENTY DAYS AFTER ELECTION DAY

What happened this past Wednesday in Alexandria, Virginia, is what I have feared this entire week
Century City, CA, 06-16-2017 Friday: I must beg your pardon for not being ‘current’ as my workload forced me to write a day or so ahead.  I did not comment yesterday on the needless and senseless assault that occurred early Wednesday morning east coast time in which, a campaign worker for the Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign shot Republican Congressman Steve Scalise, R-LA, along with several others at baseball practice for a charity event that took place yesterday.
I think throughout this entire week, I have expressed my dismay over how insane our political situation has become in our nation and have openly expressed fear that if someone or something did not tamp things down, we could expect something as what happened to Mr. Scalise to happen to someone else such as the commander-in-chief.  God forbid.
Our nation cannot withstand the lunacy that seemingly has gripped it since Hillary Rodham Clinton—a failed candidate whom a milk cow or an inebriate from skid row could have beaten—and the narrative immediately became the ‘Russians did it.’
Too many on the left side of the aisle have allowed the constant repetition of this erroneous load of crap to infect their already troubled minds.  I am surprised that someone such as Wednesday’s gunman and dead Sanders campaign worker, 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson has not stepped forward and committed some act of pointless violence sooner.
The question is why not when every day the strident drumbeat of insanity goes on, hour after hour, and day after day.  There are so many people out there drinking from the pool of psychosis that one would expect to see more and more of these kinds of incidents.  Thankfully—at least at the time of this writing—there have not been any additional ones so let us thank our lucky stars.
The story of how the ‘Russians interfered in the election and put their chosen satrap on the throne of the United States’ beggars the mind in the level of stupidity one believing it would require.
First, if the Russians did indeed interfere in the 2016 Election, then the interference occurred during the PREVIOUS administration so why are not former President Barack Obama, former Attorneys-General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, and all the rest of the Obama gang not sitting before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence instead of Trump officials.  It happened on THEIR watch did it not?
Yet, we have watched current Attorney-General of the United States Jeff Beauregard Sessions suffering a reaming by his former senatorial Democrat colleagues that blows the mind of the viewer in how intense the hatred is for all-things President Trump and the Republicans.  I will admit that it shocks the hell out of me because I like to consider myself among the sane.
I have said before that if we do not find some sort of way to quell the level of animosity, anger, and outright hatred towards the current administration, it is going to be a long hot and ugly summer and there is no telling HOW many Americans are going to suffer in its throes.
Now, I do not suggest that Senator Sanders had a hand in inciting his former colleague to go out and shoot at some Republicans practicing for a charity baseball game on Thursday but the senator does bear responsibility for not admitting that the presidential election was ‘fair and square.’
If anything, the senator should admit that it was NOT the Russians that denied him the nomination but the DNC under the control of then-chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz on behalf of eventual Democrat candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.
It is those two—along with other Clinton campaign hacks such as John Podesta, Robbie Mook, and Donna Brazile whom the good senator and his insane followers should aim themselves at attacking.
Granted, I am not advocating that anyone attack anybody; however, I am just pointing out the apparent as Captain Obvious would that it was not Donald J. Trump who put the final nail into the Vermonter’s coffin but his fellow Democrats including someone such as Wasserman Schultz whose job it was to be IMPARTIAL.
Unfortunately, none of these things seems to have occurred—at least at the time of this writing—so the nuts out there roaming the main byways of every American city—continue believing that somehow, someway, Donald J. Trump and all of his underlings sat down and actively colluded with the Russians.
You know, President Trump—just for the hell of it--should put a bust of Josef Stalin next to the bust of Martin Luther King and a photo of Vladimir Putin on the wall in the Oval Office—how crazy would that be!  The Democrats and the media would jump out the window.
Ah, well, this talk is crazy; these beliefs are what led to the shooting at the baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia, this past Wednesday.  What’s more, if we do not find a way to come together as a nation, as a unified people composed of many diverse types of folks, I see dreadful things ahead for us in the next few months.
As a former liberal voter, I can assure you that what happened this past Wednesday is but one more reinforcement as to WHY I am NO longer a ‘liberal voter.’  I cannot condone political hate speech when there is no more reason for it.
Despite their efforts, Donald J. Trump won the election.  He did it with vigorous work and attention to details and combined the needs of both Republicans AND Democrat voters.  Sure, he is not your typical politician but before the left goes after him for what they perceive are his ‘wrongs,’ they need to recognize theirs, first.
I would like to say to Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Mark Warner, Patrick Leahy, the vile Al Franken and all the rest, ‘enough is enough, people—you lost the election so accept it, shut up, and get back to working for the good of the nation and not for your loony tunes voters.’
Will they, do it?  No one knows for sure but we can only hope that the Democrats will, that is, if they hope to continue being a ‘mainstream’ party and not one lurking about the fringes.  All I can say is that I will light candles for them at church while praying to God that we can find a way to move out of the political morass that the Democrats have placed our beloved nation.
Thanks for joining me today; we will continue with more of the same tomorrow and let me say, I hope there are no more violent events but given the current political climate, no one knows from hour to hour what is going to happen.  Take for instance the towering inferno that was ongoing in London this past Tuesday night—the moment I heard that, my mind immediately went to ISIS as the cause.
Pray with me people, faith is all that we have that separates the forces of darkness that swirl around the periphery and ourselves, the good people who make our country work.  Kathy Griffin and the ‘severed head’ and the ‘actors’ performing “Julius Caesar” in the park in New York are all incitements to the psychotic.
See you tomorrow.

The Guess Who returned in September 1969 with another great album, “Canned Wheat.”  The band still consisted of the quartet of Burton Cummings (guitars/vocals/piano/flute), Randy Bachman (guitars/backing vocals), Jim Kale (bass/backing vocals), and Garry Peterson (drums).  It also featured two big hits, “Laughing” and “Undun.”  The writing of both Bachman and Cummings delivered some great music and set in motion a great songwriting team that sadly would not last that long due to personal difficulties that would see the group make numerous changes in personnel.  However, for now—this is a super album, one we hope you will purchase in whatever format, condition, and price that works best for you at Amazon.com.  We thank you in advance.
