SPRING SESSION 2017

BLOGPOST #2,347 AT THE AICP-END

ONE HUNDRED-AND-FORTY-EIGHT DAYS AFTER ELECTION DAY

We Democrats seek to fix the problems facing humanity while the Republicans seek to enrich only themselves and their big dark money donors
Pasadena, CA, 04-05-2017 Wednesday: One of the good things about we Democrats being in charge is that we make policies and laws designed to better humanity, both here in the country and around the world.  The Republicans on the other hand seem to favor the big donors, the people who give them dark money checks beneath the table or who redirect money from legitimate charities for political purposes.
None of what the Republicans do they do for the good of the whole; no, what they do directly benefits them or their cronies who run big business behind the scenes.
Look at Donald Trump and his family, we have never seen a president or his family in which, the individuals are as wealthy as Midas, it is obscene, especially in a nation where many languish in economic circumstances directly resulting from harsh Republican policies.
Eight years of George W. Bush placed the nation and its citizens into dire economic circumstances, thanks to the tax cuts he managed to get his GOP hacks in the House and Senate to shove through, against the wishes of we, Democrats.
The tax cuts he gave the American people were not in their best interest because the Bush #43 administration did not reduce spending in other areas; no, he continued the spending while lessening the tax burden for his fat cat donors and the unseen powers behind the scene.  In so doing, he drove up debt that President Obama labored to fix over eight years but in the end failed to do.
One has to wonder WHERE the GOP gets its crackpot economic policies.  They certainly do not come to them from accredited experts who can point out the various pitfalls of each proposal.
Sadly, no one sees Austan Goolsbee around ‘President’ Trump, do they?  Well, the 45th president sure as heck needs someone as intelligent as Mr. Goolsbee is to help him out of the morass into which, Mr. Trump has placed himself;—it is not pretty.
President Obama had no choice other than to borrow vast sums of money, driving up the National Debt in the process, in order to provide health care to every American as well as to keep Social Security and Medicare soluble.
The GOP generally is the party seeking to rob seniors of their Social Security, Medicare and the poor of their Medicaid because this is what they do, it is their modus operandi, and it is their signature method of highway robbery.
Look at their recent failure to repeal Obamacare and to replace it with something similar but with a different name attached to it—the American Health Care Act, the AHCA.  There is no reason to throw out Obamacare, all they need to do is to work with Democrats to fix some of its minor flaws and in so doing, both political parties could achieve a bipartisan win.
Yet, the GOP avoids any sign of working in a bipartisan manner, which leads us to our next tidbit of truth—the only reason the GOP wants to trash Obamacare is Barack Obama himself.  Whether it is because President Obama is a black man or because it bears his name, we may never know and yet, it seems somewhat suspicious.
Now, I know the more timid folks out there among the readership are going to cry, “Really Fritz—you have to bring ‘race’ into the argument against the Republicans?’
Well, I think I have no choice but to do so, my friends, and as I know that most people who come here to see what we esteemed food service professionals think, feel, and say, it pains me to tell the conservative side that, “Yes, many of you are racists, whether you wish to admit it or not.”
That is the sad crux of the problem is that among the milk-white Republicans, there are numerous racists lurking among them.  Do not misconstrue my words; however, I am not painting ALL Republicans with the paintbrush of racism, only the vast majority who are.
It is such a shame that we, as a nation, cannot cleanse our country of the founding sin, something that has long soiled us, the ignominy of RACISM.  Whenever I have family come to Pasadena from abroad or even some of my older relatives who live here, when they ask me, “How could something like this {the election of Trump}happen?”
I will admit, that I have no answer- it is as much a humiliation to me as it is to anyone.  I also will admit that some of the things he said drew me in as such as building the wall and monitoring more closely the arrivals and dispersion of Muslim refugees into the country, I have found myself pulling back.
One of the things that caused me to reconsider some of my ‘positive’ feelings toward then candidate Donald Trump has been his overt racism in virtually everything he says or attempts to do in dealing with foreigners seeking to come to the USA.
You see, we do need low wageworkers to do the jobs that Americans will not do and the policies of ‘President’ Trump are ones born in the cesspool of racism and not out of a desire to protect the American people.
If he truly wanted to protect the American people, I think he would initiate immediate immigration reform, he would make the DREAMERS solid as rock, and he would legalize the people already here who have done nothing wrong other than to come here seeking a better life, and would order his administration and party to stop with the attempts to enact racist laws.
Friends, we will continue discussing why the ‘President’ is the worst thing that has ever happened to our nation tomorrow but please, make sure you join me over at the secondary blog so we can continue the celebration of the artworks of Beverly Carrick.
Thanks—see you tomorrow.

Paul McCartney released his next solo effort on November 11, 2002, “Back in the U.S.”  The former Beatle recorded the album while on tour promoting “Driving Rain;” however, the album featured more of his work as a member of the Fab Four, with Wings, and much of his earlier solo work.  This is the deal- at this point in his career, people wanted to hear the ‘oldies’ and even though his previous studio effort, the one which the tour was in support of, was the ‘bomb,’ sales were not good.  Hence, he wants to sell out concert halls so he plays the music everyone knows and loves.  Please—use the link we provide you here so you can take a digital journey to the world’s greatest online emporium in the world, Amazon.com.
