FALL SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #2,147 AT THE AICP-END

Our employees serve as our ‘focus group’ when it comes to politics
Taft, CA, 10-07-2016 Friday: Yesterday, we began to discuss the vice presidential debate we watched on Tuesday night and how the people of the nation saw it.  I use as my focus group the number of employees my husband and I have working in our restaurants because they represent a cross-section of greater society.  I have white, black, Latino, an Asian, and a Native American on the payroll as well as several different religions and 1-2 members of the LGBT-Q community.  I do my best to treat each one as an individual and seek their advice, support, and commitment to excellence that my hubby and I espouse and promote.
Roman and I have long been a part of the community in which we live and thrive and we always do our best to take into account the feelings of the workers and their families.  We have the one-and-only KNZR AM-1560/97.7-FM radio station on the kitchen radio station 24/7, which means we begin the day listening to Glenn Beck, then Rush Limbaugh, then Jaz McKay, Inge Barks, Mark Levin, and then conclude the day with good old George Noory.  I love those UFO stories and I love listening to Art Bell—‘somewhere in time.’
The employees never complain and they listen to the various radio hosts, either in agreement or in disagreement, which is fine and from this and the occasional television broadcasts whether a debate or a special sports’ broadcast, they listen to, as well.  In providing this ‘entertainment,’ which we see as a service, it allows our employees who might not otherwise pay attention to what is going on within the nation much less the world to see and hear the news of the day.
Our idea is to open their minds and to cause them to see the world in a different light and not the one that their upbringing and their lifestyles have impressed upon them.  We do not care what particular political persuasion they claim, we just want to open their minds to what other people think and how their voting patterns can affect their community, their families, and even their jobs.
You see, some things such as Obamacare are job killers and for those who might vote for candidates who supported that pile of rubbish, they must know that for some, there are consequences.  Right now, we have to thank Bill Clinton for speaking candidly about what a disaster the ‘Un-Affordable Care Act’ is and thank God for him doing it.
As I said yesterday, we encouraged everyone to watch the previous two debates because it is in their best interest to hear what the candidates (and her spouse) had to say.  Many felt that Hillary Clinton easily smoked Donald Trump in their first cage fight, which probably is true because she managed to get beneath his skin as a chigger does and irritated the living crud out of him.
Still, he managed to get in some good points of his own, which is something I hope we see this Sunday night.  We would love to see Trump emulate the debate his vice presidential pick did—there is always room to grow.
The vice presidential debate went the other way, however, in that employees saw Senator Tim Kaine, D-Va., become obnoxious almost from the start.  Some thought he did what he needed to do in trying to get Governor Mike Pence, R-Indiana, to either defend Donald Trump or to ‘cut him loose’ in the debate.  As the interruptions continued, you could see them grimacing as even the rock-solid Democrats among the employees found it blatantly rude.
The Democratic members of the crew wanted to see Kaine besmirch Trump and anyone who supports him but when the issue of taxes came up and Roman explained the situation to the workers they understood that people running businesses have some redress when they have a business failure.
However, the larger the failure, the more the redress and Donald Trump operated entirely within the letter of the law and yet, the Democrats continue throwing lies about what he pays in taxes and about him out there like red meat to their snarling voters.  Like yapping dogs, they gorge on it, as this is what the liberal loonies ALWAYS do.  I mean, look at the nuts at the Huffington Post, the writers there are nut house denizens!
They understand that if Rom and I cannot pay the bills and the taxes that they will suffer along with us.  Therefore, we run a tight ship here in Taft and elsewhere within the county by enlisting our workers along with us.
You see, if we have success, they have success, which is why it is important for business owners to be up front and open about everything from the costs of doing business to what we ourselves earn from the restaurants.  People who fail being open with their workers typically suffer the consequences and will pay for it at some point.
Back to the debate, some of the minority workers have had this idea that ‘stop and frisk’ and ‘law and order’ are bad things.  I understand how they feel just as I understand that sometimes, the system is indeed unfair.  Roman and I have told our employees many times that they should always present themselves in a certain way and that they should treat law enforcement as they wish to be treated.
Granted, sometimes, this does not work but we want them to act as though they are ambassadors for both their community and their jobs and not outcasts and that if something should happen to them, Rom or I will be there to help them make bail.  This is our commitment to them.
So far, the Lord has blessed us well because our employees are good people.  We want them to understand that Donald Trump will restore respect to everyone by being a president everyone can look up to and see as a role model.  Granted, the man can be gruff and say some crazy things but part of it is the persona he presents to the public.  This is why his opponents have a difficult time trying to snare him into one of their traps.
Conversely, the media also does its best to distort the words of Donald Trump as well as those of other Republicans so they can twist them in a way that will make their followers believe what they hear and see is true.  The problem is it is not true what the media typically says because they have a dog in this fight and that dog is Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Furthermore, they do not care if her presidency will be worse than the one under which, the nation now chafes; no, all they want is to put another incompetent Democrat into the White house and into as many other local, statewide, and national seats as possible.
What we all saw happen on Tuesday night was as Governor Mike Pence said, ‘an insult-driven campaign,’ because Kaine blasted one insult after another to the point where the viewers began to become uneasy.  We live in a society that has grown increasingly nasty with people behaving in all sorts of rude and belligerent ways.  We see this in the number of confrontations with the law, with shooting after shooting, and with people going nuts caught in the grip of road rage.
I tell my workers, my family, and my friends that we need someone who will behave presidential and who will be a cheerleader for the nation as well as a shoulder upon which, to cry.  We must return to sharing national victories and defeats equally and with patriotism as if we do not, we will have little to nothing ever to celebrate again.
This is what I can tell YOU about Hillary Clinton.  First, she is going to raise taxes by two-trillion dollars, an astronomical amount while doing nothing to bring down the national debt.  We labor beneath an unseen, government-caused weight that keeps wages sluggish, growth, stagnant, and jobs scarce.  Try getting a loan to expand a business or to purchase a home, or to do anything else and one finds that it is extremely difficult.  Good luck with earning a return on investment income, there is no point with owning CDs at the bank or investing in property.
Second, a Hillary Clinton presidency will open borders while providing amnesty to ALL illegals.  Sure, she says that her administration will deport ‘criminal illegals’ but that never seems to happen anymore.  We the people of this great country find ourselves buried beneath repetitive tidal waves of illegal aliens, people who at best suck up available resources and at worst rape, rob, and murder us while fleeing back to sanctuary cities.
Third, our position in the world will only diminish because Hillary actually believes she can reconcile with Vladimir Putin and with other despots around the world while playing fast and loose with intelligence.  Everything they blame on Donald Trump is likely stuff for which, she will bear responsibility like starting a nuclear war or withdrawing from allies such as Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and even Saudi Arabia.
Fourth, Bill and Hillary Clinton have one concern, which is two-fold: self-enrichment and absolute power.  As with Louie XVI and Marie Antoinette, they seek to perpetuate their power and to continue building their bank accounts while continuing to absorb billions of dollars more into the Clinton “Foundation.”  Hillary even quips that ‘why should she or her husband step down from running their ‘foundation’ when she could care less about what the American people think, much less feel?
Fifth, all of this talk about ‘shutting down the Iranian nuclear program’ is a load of cow dung, stinky, smelly, fly-ridden cow dung.  No matter what Hillary and her toady, Tim Kaine, say, they merely postponed the nuclear armament of the Mullah-led crap hole that the world once knew as ‘Persia.’  The Iranians will launch a nuclear attack on Israel and perhaps in conjunction with the North Koreans will launch one on the United States.  We have Hillary Clinton to thank for this mess.
As a Roman Catholic, I ponder the ‘End Times’ in the back of my mind and I sometimes wonder if Barack Hussein Obama was the ‘Beast’ and that Hillary Clinton is ‘666?’  Say what you will, if you read the New Testament, you understand that at some point a personality will arise who will bring about the Apocalypse.  I know many claim that Donald Trump is the ‘one,’ but I highly doubt that; I suspect that he is the ONLY one who can prevent the destruction of the world.
In closing, I will say I hope I am wrong just as many of us were regarding the prophecies swirling around 2012; however, if we believe what we read in the Bible and I most certainly do, then we know at some point, the world will go to hell and then the Lord will return.  I tell my employees we must do the ‘right thing’ and I hope they will come November 08 as if they do not; well, we could all be looking for news jobs.
We might continue the discussion tomorrow, too, and then prep for the second round between Hillary and Trump on Sunday.  Who is playing on Sunday Night Football?  Whoever the teams are, it simply does not matter when the future of our nation remains at stake.
Ciao!
