If Donald Trump wins the White House, would the GOP seek to impeach him?
Santa Barbara, CA, 10-30-2016 Sunday: In my final post of the year, I feel compelled to ask a very important question: when Donald Trump becomes president, will the Republicans—either alone or in conjunction with the Democrats—seek to overturn the will of the voters by dropping impeachment charges on Mr. Trump.  I would not put it past them to do so because that seems to be ‘how they roll’ to use the vernacular of the young folks.  However, if Hillary becomes the president, the nation knows her to be the Great Deceiver, that she is as crooked as crooked can be, and that she has broken so many laws and gone scot-free without any sort of ramifications that one would think it would be Issue #1 for the GOP.
The lack of determination by the GOP to act as an opposition party to a sitting president who lacks control of the House and the Senate is the eye-opening outrage that has caused many Americans to view them simply as one side of a single coin.  On the one side, we have the Republicans yearning to be like the Democrats while on the other, we find the Dems who hate the Republicans and seek to humiliate them through destroying them.  What is wrong with the damned Republicans?
As I have said, I once was a member of the Peace and Freedom Party here in California because I wanted to meet hot chicks of different races and do my thing.  Everyone communed in opposition to the Vietnam War, which is what made me such a believer in the misguided ideals of the crackpot party. 
However, as time went by and I attained a business through hard work, sweat, tears, financial investment and sheer luck, I realized that leftwing political parties had nothing good in store for me.  It was all about ‘share the land and the wealth,’ which I found to be literally crazy because WHY should I give up my earned success to fund some stupid pipe dream? 
This is what caused me to become an ‘independent,’ which over a short time caused me to become a conservative in most of my political and economic views.  I remember the ‘miracle of Ronald Reagan,’ how he took a decaying nation led by an inept leader for four years and within two returned the country to the top of the hill where our ‘city’ could shine.  Anyone who scoffs at his amazing accomplishments scoffs at making the nation as great and as inviting to ALL as it can be. 
His successor was unable to keep things on track and then we suffered under Bill Clinton for eight solid years.  The Democrats tell us he was ‘amazing,’ which is little more than bulls**t because ‘his’ accomplishments he inherited from Ronald Reagan-George H.W. Bush.  Sure, he could blame them for some issues with which, he had to contend but Clinton is the one who set the nation onto the destructive path upon which, we now find it.
You see, his successor, George W. Bush, might have been able to restore the nation to the plateau upon which, Reagan-Bush 41 left it but saw it all go to hell with the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.  The attacks might not have occurred had Bill Clinton had some balls and taken out Osama bin Laden on the 2-3 occasions when the terrorist mastermind clearly was in the sights of U.S. intelligence. 
Clinton waffled long enough each time until Osama managed to disappear again and so thanks to the inabilities of the 42nd president of the United States, what might have become a new ‘economic miracle’ went to hell because bin Laden launched his greatest attack on a ‘new day that would live in infamy.’  Bush did not invite the Jihadis to attack us, they attacked us because (1) Bill Clinton was impotent and (2) was an immoral scumbag, something which, the Jihadis find detestable about our way of life.  
The Democrats blame Republicans for starting wars around the world but the Dems are the true warmongers of the nation.  Under Barack Hussein Obama, we find ourselves fighting in more places around the world than ever before and yet, the millennial generation believes that Donald Trump is going to be the one to start wars.  If I were they, I would tremble in my socks down in the basement because if Hillary wins the election, she is a BIG HAWK. 
Under Hillary, I suspect that as a way to mollify her political enemies as well as to show she has some big balls of her own buried deep within her Chairman Mao pantsuits, she will up the ante around the world and commit American troops to battle real and supposed enemies. 
Understand this, back in 1964 when Lyndon Baines Johnson battled Barry Goldwater to win the White House, Johnson made Goldwater out to look like the warmonger when in fact — after Johnson won his first official term in as president,—he upped the number of ground troops to South Vietnam and increased the intensity of the war. 
Much-maligned Republican President Richard M. Nixon—the man who followed LBJ—is the man responsible for getting the United States out of the mess raging in South Vietnam.  Had it not been for the mistake made by the Nixon White House in the Watergate investigation, he might have gone down in history among the great presidents but the Left could not bear the idea of a Republican besting the Kennedy-Johnson Era—they had to take Nixon out of the running through his destruction.
Back then, however, the Republicans supported their president until it became clear they could no longer do so as the price they would have to pay would be severe.  Likewise, the Republican establishment did not like Ronald Reagan and in fact laughed at him and made him out to be as inept as the person he followed. 
Many worked in league with the opposition to keep Reagan under control and yet, Reagan restored the economic engine of the nation better than it had ever been as well as in conjunction with Pope John Paul and British leader Margaret Thatcher, ended the Cold War without us having to fire a shot. 
In doing so, the Soviet Union imploded and its various components found freedom for the first time in nearly a half-century or longer and the Iron Curtain came down giving freedom to millions of people living in East Germany and in Eastern Europe.  The crumbling of the Evil Empire—as President Reagan called the Soviet Union—was one of those monumental actions in human history that live forever in the hearts of minds of the people who experienced it and in whose memory it lives forever. 
The Left cannot contend with the accomplishments of Ronald Reagan because they were all about working with the Soviet Union rather than bringing it down and freeing its subject peoples.  The Democrats of the era detested President Reagan because they felt connected more to the Soviet Union and its top-heavy, oppressive dictatorship than they did to the country the people of their districts sent them to represent.
The question I shared at the beginning of the post is what would the GOP in the House and Senate do should Donald J. Trump because the nation’s 45th chief executive?  Would they flock around President Trump and aid him in making America great again or would they seek to thwart him every turn?  We cannot put anything past the Republican mainstream because we know what they already have done—stab Trump in the back by not supporting him. 
Many Americans would love to see the Republican Party collapse because they have done little to aid the people of the country instead choosing to aid a devious president of the OTHER party to do everything over eight years he can do to trash the country for generations. 
They instead, have attacked the Tea Party and any other grassroots movement seeking to force President Obama to operate within the defined boundaries the Constitution of the United States sets forth. 
No one knows for sure what the Republicans will do but based upon their ongoing distancing from all things Donald Trump, it would not surprise me if Articles of Impeachment appear against him the moment he does something, which would provide them cover to get him out of office. 
Worse, if the GOP maintains control of House and Senate and continues with this anti-Trump sentiment, they would not even need support from the Democrats to remove President Trump seeking all the glory for themselves and no one else. 
Moreover, neither mainstream party wants anyone outside the club to change things forever nor once Trump began talking about imposing constitutional term limits on all elected and appointed officials at federal level, do we know EVERYONE who views public service as their livelihood will do whatever it takes to take out Donald Trump.
The question is, what will the voters do?  I for one will NEVER again vote for a Republican if they take Donald Trump out of the picture and will go third party for the rest of my life.  I will seek out the best third party aligned with the bulk of my views and will long and hard to make a strong third party a reality.  The GOP needs to go the way of the Whigs, as the ones opposing Donald Trump are the new equivalent of the “Know-Nothings.”    
Have a great rest of the year.  First, tomorrow, enjoy Halloween, then make sure you vote on November 8.  After that, have as good a Thanksgiving and Christmas as you can and a safe and sane New Year.  God bless you all, keep the faith, and let us get behind the one, the only, Donald Trump for president.

This is me as a chef during the 1980's when we took a group photograph for a Chefs de Cuisine yearbook.  At the time, I was working at a hotel in Bakersfield, CA, down on Union Avenue.  It was still somewhat nice and the area was still the original "restaurant row" of the city.  Now, I am 70 years old and work over in Santa Barbara, CA, as a food and beverage director for a fine-dining country club.
