While promoting the ‘Benefits’ of Recreational Marijuana, the American Left seeks to criminalize the Harmless Alternative to Cigarette Smoking, E-Cigarettes or ‘Vaping

“While promoting the ‘Benefits’ of Recreational Marijuana, the American Left seeks to criminalize the Harmless Alternative to Cigarette Smoking, E-Cigarettes or ‘Vaping’” by Chef Lilah Paulikovich

SUMMER SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #2,125 AT THE AICP-END

Once again, the LEFT chooses ‘winners’ and ‘losers’ in choosing recreational pot over the use of the non-harmless e-cigarettes
Kula, HI, 09-15-2016 Thursday: For the past 2-3 decades now, the BIG TOBACCO industry has seen the majority of Americans—led by the leftists—on the attack against them.  Many people want to drive the tobacco companies out of business because they want to see them disappear forever even though every single state relies on tax revenues raised from the sale of tobacco products for a variety of programs from children’s health programs and education.
Besides the states taxing tobacco for a variety of purposes, the export of American tobacco products makes big money for an otherwise stagnant national economy.  Every year, we sell billions of dollars of tobacco products abroad to markets eager to buy them.  In doing so, money flows into the federal and state coffers that keep many communities afloat.  Without the money we make on the sale of tobacco, it is possible that many states in the tobacco belt would be in worse economic crises than they already are.
The war on BIG TOBACCO began in earnest back in the late 1960s-early 1970s when the federal government began reaming tobacco executives on Capitol Hill over the proven health problems associated with the use of cigarettes.  Granted, all of the ‘crimes’ laid at the feet of the tobacconists are true, whether it is lung cancer, emphysema, heart problems, and a whole host of other negative and dark health concerns.  Eradicating tobacco in that respect would not be a bad thing.
Over the years, the penalties against tobacco companies have increased just as have the taxes and the price of a single pack of smokes went from thirty to forty cents back in the 1950s-1960s to more than five, six, or even seven bucks per pack depending upon where one lives.  The price of a carton of cigarettes is astronomical, yet, people continue to buy tobacco and use it, albeit in increasingly confined and fewer places.  God help you light a cigarette out on the street, people will accost the unfortunate user to the point that he or she must flee for his or her life.
We have seen in other places such as New York City that a person—who died at the hands of the cops, Eric Garner—supported his family by selling single cigarettes on the black market because the taxes on them are so high.  Mr. Garner sold cigarettes by the single for many years and did so because people simply could not afford to buy a pack much less a carton because the taxes atop either form are prohibitive to one buying them.
In the past decade, many people have sworn off the habit altogether, because of the cost and the harm to one’s health, it no longer makes sense to engage in the nasty pastime.  Yet, government never stops pursuing and punishing smokers even though they rely heavily on tax revenue gleaned from the suffering of others.  Obamacare further adds to the nightmare of smokers by discriminating against them until they quit.
Meanwhile, we have seen a new form of tobacco product enter the market, e-cigarettes, a harmless alternative to smoking actual tobacco because one merely inhales the flavored water vapor.  This minimizes the risks to one’s health regular cigarettes cause the user, which should be something the entire nation (and the world) stands up and cheers.  What’s more, using e-cigarettes help people swear off the actual item by using a non-risky alternative, which helps more people achieve health and economic freedom.
Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case as now, we Americans who thought we are doing the right thing see a barrage of advertisements blasting e-cigarette use and portraying the tobacco companies as being worse scumbags then their opponents have already portrayed them by attempting to sneak a ‘new form of addictive behavior.’
Please, folks, ‘vaping’ is okay, there is nothing wrong with it, all one gets is the flavor of tobacco in a non-poisonous form, and something I thought would be a cure-all to all tobacco-related problems.  What the hell is the matter with the leftwing of this nation that seeks to deny the American people of ANY form of pleasurable pastime in which, they wish to partake?  I am telling you, it makes me truly angry because ‘vaping’ should be some method by which, people can swear off REAL tobacco by enjoying a harmless facsimile.
On the other hand, more and more places around the nation seek to defy a seemingly non-enforced federal law by seeking to legalize recreational marijuana.  One would think that Jesus Christ gave us marijuana as to listen to all of its proponents pot is the cure-all for every health disorder one faces, akin to the Wild West version of ‘snake oil.’  Please, excuse me, give me a break, virtually every Paniolo cowboy here in the Islands smokes pot and pot, my friends, is a major flipping problem.
Worse, every day some poor child finds him-or-herself in the hospital over them eating one of mommy-or-daddy’s edibles, poisoning them within an inch of their lives.  Oh, the compliant media does its best to cover up the statistics related to this sort of ‘error,’ all the while the pro-pot folks tell us that smoking pakalolo has no health drawbacks whatsoever.  Please, what is wrong with these doofuses that is so much crap, I believe there are far worse problems associated with the use of pot today.
My hope is that the people of the country wake up and deny all future attempts to legalize the use of pot.  California has such a ballot measure up for a vote in November, as do other states around the country.  The state governments roll their eyes and dance a Hitler-like jig when they think of the tax revenue that will soon flow into their state treasuries.
Even worse, the people now governing us will most likely not be here in 50 years when the effects of long-term use and abuse of marijuana causes future generations to ask, “what was wrong with those people—smoking pot is a disaster!’  Hell, it already is a disaster as the number of pot-related, driving-while-high incidents continues to skyrocket off the charts; yet, the proponents tell us, ‘nothing to see here, folks--move along.’
Here in Hawaii, we already had problems with illegal pot use and drunkenness among many native Hawaiian people, whom one can see sitting outside upcountry minimarts getting stoned on everything from Jägermeister and weed.  We have problems with people driving the two-lane backroads of the island getting into accidents, killing and maiming innocent people, and then running for their lives, thanks to the lax views on intoxicants, most notably the whacky-weed.
At what point does government step up and begin fulfilling its number one obligation to the people it represents (or is supposed to represent), which is protecting them from all harm as best it can?  I guess those days are long-gone, folks, tax revenue flowing in is far more important than the long-term health, welfare, and happiness of the people are.
I would hope at some point, they begin waking up and seeing that the problems they cause now are going to affect future generations, generations of people who will have to contend with the problems the modern politicians promote now.
Friends, sorry if I riled anyone up but I think there is nothing wrong with ‘vaping’ just as I believe ‘legalizing’ pot is going to cause us far worse problems over the long run.  We already know that smoking marijuana changes the brain of the user whereas vaping simply does not.
Furthermore, e-cigarette cartridges do not attract children as do laundry ‘quick-packs’ and edible marijuana does so why can we not stop the scare tactics of the former while continuing to prohibit the availability of the latter?
That is going to do it for us today; I truly look forward to hearing what you have to say about the various topics we have discussed today.  We cannot continue to vilify the use of electronic cigarettes when the use of the REAL thing is the danger.
Add to this the promotion of marijuana for recreational use and one can easily see that once again, the LEFT choose ‘winners’ and ‘losers’ and so has thrown in with the doped-up underclass that believes the use of pakalolo trumps something that does not generate much tax revenue while being extremely safe.
Have a great day and I will see you tomorrow—God bless you all—and let us work to make America a better place, not one that is far worse than the one we now have.  Aloha.
Thank you,
Lilah Paulikovich
