SUMMER SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #2,115 AT THE AICP-END

Welcome to the Labor Day Edition of the AICP-END Blog
Pasadena, CA, 09-05-2016 Monday: Good morning, friends, since today is Labor Day, which means NO one is going to visit the blog, we will present some of the political cartoons we collect and have shared at the blog’s Facebook Page, something in which, NONE of us indulge anymore thanks to the number of Internet trolls in the world.  Tomorrow, we will commence the final countdown to the November 08, 2016 Election.
Please note that the following cartoons feature commentary written by others who posted them at our Facebook Page so they do not feature MY views or beliefs.  I am a liberal, have been one my entire life, and am committed to getting a Democrat into the White House on November 08.
I also want you to note that any cartoons with our STINKBUG emblem attached to them denote the fact that we have altered their appearance to make them more appealing to the readership, not saying that we are the ones who drew them.  The STINKBUG emblem also means that we approve of them so when you join us at the blog, you know we have made the photos better and that we are the ones promoting them to YOU.
What’s more, we do not want you to run crying at the top of your lungs that we are ‘ripping off intellectual material’ because anyone who has come here for the past 6.5 years know that we revere all authors, artists, and political thinkers.

(#PC0019.1r #507)  Political Cartoon of the Day:  ah, last year CVS pulled tobacco products from their shelves in a show of ‘look how great we are, we love everyone’ but we all know it is not just cigarettes that are the problem.  They hate to say it but pot has more harmful chemicals in it and yet, it is like it was one century ago when the magic formula for all good things was a little cocaine in everything.  A century from now, people will be wondering what the hell was wrong with us, we had freaks covered in tats, we aborted 1.5 million of our future children per year, we said pot was a cure for all things bad, and Obama gave us fucking Obamacare.  Wow, they are going to think we were flipping crazy!  Oh, we sell tobacco to the rest of the world, how nice we are!

(#PC0019.1s #508)  Political Cartoon of the Day: this cartoon makes light of the fact of the number of medals earned at the Sochi Olympics by the Russians, the final one being the ‘iron one’ in which, they squeeze the life out of the Ukraine.

(#PC0019.1t #509)  Political Cartoon of the Day: this cartoon from Thursday, March 06, 2014, depicts our secretary of state, the illustrious John Kerry lecturing an unseen Putin on how in the 21st Century, we do not ‘behave as though we were in the 20th Century’ meaning that nations do not invade other nations.  However, the ghost of Saddam Hussein reminds him about the American invasion of HIS country in 2003.  Look, it does not take a great deal of intelligence to know that was a gross mistake.  However, once it is underway, the nation needs to support it so we can bring it to a swift and favorable conclusion instead of bashing the commander-in-chief.  We must return to a time when the president stands before Congress and asks THEM to declare war on whatever enemy we face instead of presidents taking it upon them to launch all sorts of unnecessary wars.

(#PC0019.1u #510)  Political Cartoon of the Day: our final cartoon of the week shows President Obama with a foreign policy splinter over the various problems he faces while the GOP rushes in with a foreign policy LOG rammed through its head and carrying an axe to aid the president.  Yes, the GOP has messed up many things but so have the Dems.  We need to find a way by which, we can disagree on things but not put the nation into constant stagnation because we cannot find a consensus upon which, we can act.  Such is life, folks, such is life, we have had better times throughout our history.

(#PC0019.1v #511)  Political Cartoon of the Day: today’s cartoon comes from the Friday, March 07, 2014, a time when Vladimir Putin was slamming American ‘exceptionalism’ and Barack Obama was drawing ‘red lines in the sand’ over Syria.  Well, here, our president, a man noted for slamming his own nation puts HIS red line through the word ‘exceptionalism’ as it pertains to the United States.

(#PC0019.1w #512)  Political Cartoon of the Day: this hilarious cartoon from Saturday, March 08, 2014, shows President Obama looking into the mirror of his foreign policy and what does he see in the reflection but the grinning visage of President Jimmy Carter, which should tell the president how inept he is.  That has to hurt, as President Carter now knows he is not the worst president in the nation’s history.

(#PC0019.1x #513)  Political Cartoon of the Day: the next cartoon from Saturday, March 08, 2014, shows a slam on Paul Ryan discussing the ‘poor’ while feeding the BIG GOP pig that thrives on cheap labor.  We need to update this, BOTH the Dems and the mainstream GOP as politicians such as John Boehner, Kevin McCarthy, and others of the same ilk thrive on cheap labor.  It is just that the Democrats hide their allegiance to bringing in illegals while the GOP thinks it is going to be beneficial to their reelection chances.

(#PC0019.1y #514)  Political Cartoon of the Day: the third political cartoon from Saturday, March 08, 2014, shows the “American Distress” card with President Obama’s name on the front.  This is sad because this is how it is, we are deep in debt, and it is going to be a long time getting out of it.

(#PC0019.1z #515)  Political Cartoon of the Day: the final cartoon from Saturday, March 08, 2014, shows Uncle Sam telling Putin to get out of the Ukraine but the U.S. moral high ground appears a great deal like Iraq.  Now, more than 1.5 years later, Vladimir Putin is roaming the Middle East like a king and we sit on the sidelines begging him to ‘PLEASE STOP!’  We are such chumps!

(#PC0019.1z #516)  Political Cartoon of the Day: today’s cartoon comes from Monday, March 10, 2014, depicts the horrendous mess of the Affordable Care Act—aka Obamacare—depicting its architect, President Obama, as an artist painting a mess instead of a masterpiece.  This looks very much like something no one can untangle, which is what most of us believe it to be.  Instead of taking care of those who truly need the care, the Democrats made it so that it would punish everyone instead of being the safety net that they claimed it to be.  It is going to take a strong president to throw this mess out and give the American people a plan befitting of them.

(#PC0020.1a #517)  Political Cartoon of the Day: our next cartoon comes from Tuesday, March 11, 2014, and it shows the mess the American taxpayers face every year when it comes to filing taxes.  We have a messed up system, no doubt about it, one that does not befit a great nation such as ours.  We believe that any of the various plans offered by the GOP candidates is better than the punitive mess we now have.  However, we believe that NO one, we repeat—NO one—can or will change the Internal Revenue Service—it is what it is.
Thanks for indulging me on this Labor Day holiday, especially since the election is all we discuss at the moment; however, tomorrow, we will commence in earnest the final countdown to Hillary Clinton winning the White House and the salvation of the American people.  Thanks for joining me today; I appreciate it and thank you, Chef Roland, for doing the fine job you are in relief of the one-and-only Moses.  I wish him and his family nothing but the best.
Thank you, my friends-

WE CONTINUE PROMOTING THE MUSIC OF THE ENGLISH BAND, THE HOLLIES

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 05, 2016

Later in 1967, the Hollies released a second album, another one featuring the psychedelic movement’s sound from the former Beat band.  The lineup was the same as the one on “Evolution.”  This album, “Butterfly,” would be the last album to feature original member, Graham Nash.  Like its predecessor, “Butterfly” spawned no massive radio hits but the music showed the band had what it took to remain current with others of its generation, whether the Stones, Beatles, Who, Kinks, and even the Moody Blues and Pink Floyd.  We certainly hope you will use our link so you can redirect your browser to Amazon.com where you can snap it up in the format, the condition, and the price that works best for you—you will be glad you did.
