Last Night was Round #1 in a Three-Round Fight
San Luis Obispo, CA, 09-27-2016 Tuesday:  All day yesterday, the BUILD-UP to the FIRST PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE between Status Quo candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and the agent of monumental change, Donald J. Trump took on all the pomp and circumstance of a Super Bowl.  All weekend long, talking heads talked and while some knew their topic and formulated their thoughts well, most were on the side of Hillary Clinton and as dumb as a box full of rocks.  When I heard that little slime-ball, that little scumbag, that little CHOMO Senate Minority Leader Harry ‘the Mob F**KED up my face’ Reid on the floor of the Senate calling Trump a ‘racist,’ I almost puked my guts. 
What the hell is wrong with that little SOB, I wish the Mob had gone in there and left him brain dead because he is a loser, a BIG loser but Democrats—when the voters give it to them up the old poop chute—remain in office.  They remain there because (1) earning free money from government is too difficult to surrender and (2) they are too stupid to know they took a pounding. 
Alas, Reid says hateful S**T on the floor of the greatest debate body in the world because he knows he can say all of the vilest and most disgusting things and NO one can hit him with a major lawsuit.  How is this, a ‘good thing,’ to allow people to cast aspersions, insults, and out-and-out lies without facing some sort of legal retribution.  Does the aggrieved have to hire a Mob hitman to go out and make the slate right?  
Something else I found upsetting was the drumbeat throughout the weekend of liberal pundits, talking heads, and bottom-feeders demanding that Lester Holt—the debate moderator—actively challenge Donald J. Trump on ‘ALL of his lies’ instead of allowing presidential debaters to do what they do and that is, “HOLD A DEBATE.” 
Poor Lester must feel as poor Matt Lauer did in that if you attempt to do an unbiased job of asking questions of a candidate, if you hit the lib with the same questions that you hit the opponent with, the Left sees you as a traitorous douche-bag.  Poor Mr. Holt, all one could do was to feel some sympathy for the poor man as there was no way he could win if he acquiesced to the liberal demands.  Still, I was sure that Mr. Trump was going to come in and even with the owner of the Dallas Mavericks in the front row—Mark Cuban—I think the billionaire was going to give them a side of him totally unexpected. 
Besides, what was the big deal with Cuban being there in the first place?  He appears to be a spoiled little brat who thinks he is BIG STUFF because the Mavericks finally won a NBA championship a few years ago.  What have they won since?  NOTHING—they won NOTHING and will continue to fall short; big deal.   
We heard Hillary was going to have some guests but I have to admit, I was truly hoping that Jennifer Flowers was going to come because how awesome would it be if she or Monica Lewinsky sat in the front row giving the old battle ax—Hillary Clinton—the evil eye? 
Furthermore, I think it would have made super great reality TV because for once, the accusers of hubby Bill would be able to stare down the person who attempted to rub them out, both verbally and most likely in reality.  I think she and the Bimbo Eruption Squad would have done it had she been able to get away with setting such a thing in motion. 
In the run-up to the debate, increasing number of polls continue shifting towards Donald Trump, which has to have Hillary yanking at her wig.  They thought they had Colorado in the bag and lo and behold, it now requires them to return to the Rocky Mountains and begin spending money. 
Likewise in Ohio, in a state ruled by the dimwitted and recalcitrant Governor John Kasich—a seeming avowed enemy of the New York billionaire—the numbers for Trump have made it not the worth the trouble for Hillary to do battle there.  Yet, after watching last night’s debate and knowing that the pundits will say Hillary wiped the floor with the BIG GUY, well, we can expect those numbers maybe to swing the OTHER way.
Even in Pennsylvania, a place much like California where the BIG cities override the smaller towns and locales, the numbers are beginning to creep up for Mr. Trump.  I know that my good friend, Chef Hector “El Chilote” Santanamos De Soto suggested—brazenly, I must say—that Mr. Trump COULD carry the Golden State.  Did you hear what he said?  He said Trump could carry California and I am inclined to agree with his prophecy on this as you see Trump signs EVERYWHERE and very few Hillary signs ANYWHERE. 
As you can tell, I began writing this post earlier in the day because I felt it important to make post time deadline at 12:01 A.M. so I am not heavy on what happened last night.  I know that the Hillary campaign was hopeful that by putting the debate on Monday night—at the same time Monday Night Football appeared—NO one would see Trump make a fool out of her. 
I guess they should have paid attention to the two teams playing—the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints—suck.  I doubt anyone—even in the team’s communities—watched this crappy game because EVERYONE—and I mean EVERYONE—watched this first debate.  It is akin to George Foreman and Mohammad Ali—the “Rumble in the Jungle” or “Smokin’” Joe Frazier and Mohammad Ali—the ‘Thrilla in Manila”—with the ENTIRE WORLD tuning in to see the devastation. 
Now, I hate to say something that sounds hateful, but my entire thought over the weekend was that I hoped that Hillary was not going to collapse on stage or tumble into the audience because Trump made her all apoplectic.  I would hate to see the poor woman stroke out because unlike with her hubby Bill, she cannot throw an ashtray at Trump’s head without some sort of negative points. 
Granted, I think many of her followers would LOVE to see her throw something at the head of Trump but so far—in the modern era—we have not seen violence on a debate stage. 
Ah, well, the Trump I expected to see show up at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, last night was the somewhat combative individual and not the recent, presidential Donald Trump.  Still, it is the first debate so the results are open to interpretation and spin and I believe that his team is going to make HIM prepare for the NEXT TWO DEBATES.  If they don’t and Hillary manages to remain upright, cough-free, and to reduce the snarky looks, she will win all three.  The question is, do the debates truly matter?
I suspect that the debates do not and remember, I am a Libertarian and not a Republican, merely an ‘enquiring mind interested in seeing someone make our nation better than what it now is.’  If you recall, George W. Bush debating with Al Gore and John F. Kerry—2000 and 2004 respectively—even though the two Democrats were ‘crappy,’ they still out-debated Governor and President Bush.   
George W. Bush was not a debater-in-chief even though he came out of top colleges; he just was not a ‘debater’ and yet he won.  If you want to look at a past debate that made a major difference, it was Vice President Richard M. Nixon and Senator John F. Kennedy.  On the radio, listeners claimed Nixon won.  On TV, viewers claimed Kennedy won.  That is the difference between the two formats—radio and TV—and let me tell you WHY-
Nixon was suffering jetlag and from a cold or the flu.  Kennedy was fresh and his handlers used makeup.  Kennedy appeared youthful and vigorous plus with the makeup, he looked good while the VP appeared ill, tired, sweaty, and rather tallow.  However, on the radio, he presented a robust, informed persona while Kennedy had the annoying Bostonian voice that for some is fine while for others is tiresome. 
   I think Kellyanne Conway will now corral the billionaire into doing debate prep so he does not wander all over the screen going on and on and appearing as though he has a thin skin.  I guess he does have a thin skin so his handlers are going to have to get him to tether his feet to the ground while presenting a better image to the millions of viewers.  If Trump wants to win, that is precisely what he is going to have to do so we shall see what we shall see.
I know tomorrow, NEVER-TRUMPERS such as Glenn Beck and numerous other talk radio hosts will tear Trump a new one fretting that he is going to elect Hillary Clinton.  Here is the deal, YOU will elect Hillary Clinton if you do NOT vote for Trump.  Vote for Trump and I think Mike Pence will make the difference whereas Hillary could collapse over the course of the next several weeks.  We will see what we shall see.  I hope the next moderator does not interrupt Donald Trump to the amount that Lester Holt did last night and WHY no questions on the Clinton Foundation?
