SUMMER SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #2,066 AT THE AICP-END

First, a terror attack in Nice, France, then a ‘coup’ in Turkey

Valencia, CA, 07-18-2016 Monday: Hello, hello, hello, folks; I have to say I am quite pleased to be back in the saddle, once again, what with the GOP National Convention beginning today and the turmoil in a NATO ally, Turkey this past Friday.  We now know the GOP ticket is Donald Trump and Governor Mike Pence and it seems like it is as good as, it is going to get so we must move onward and never backward.  If you read my old Facebook posts, then you know that I hoped for a Trump-Ted Cruz ticket but as time went by and the campaign grew rougher, well, it is what it ‘was,’ folks—Cruz lost and Trump won.  We have to accept the people leading our party if we hope to vanquish Hillary Clinton and whatever piece of crap she chooses to put on as her vice presidential nominee—it will be someone she can bully, no doubts about that, folks.
I have to say, I had hopes that Newt Gingrich was going to be the vice presidential nominee as that man has the bones with which, to help lead the nation back from the brink.  However, I fear that what with Newt saying we check out the nation’s Muslims by asking them if they are ‘pro-Sharia’ or ‘anti-Sharia,’ and if they are the former, well, they need to leave the country.  I do not see what could be wrong with a test such as this as back in the last 150 years or so when people came here from all parts of the world, we wanted to know numerous things about them.
We wanted to know if they were anarchists, communists, socialists, homosexuals, sick, mentally ill, we asked them all sorts of things and if they did not pass the screening, well, they boarded the next boat back to wherever they came from.  A nation is only as strong as its citizens so we made sure people had a sponsor and a job before coming here and that they either passed or failed the aforementioned tests.  Try that with today’s ‘immigration’ system, people come here sans sponsors, jobs, but with their hands out seeking the welfare given them by our beloved Democrats at all levels of government.  Let’s move on to something else now, shall we, it is a busy Monday.
We have all watched events in Turkey over the past six-and-a-half, seven years perhaps with growing dread as the rise of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has concerned many Western politicians as well as the few Islamist-free nations of the Middle East.  It seemed as though President Erdoğan wanted to become a leader in Middle Eastern politics and that he actually favored the Islamization of not only his country but of neighboring states.
We know he has no problem with allowing the hundreds of thousands of ‘Syrian refugees’ to pass through his country as a way station and across the water to, I believe, the Greek island of Lesbos.  From there, the European Union stupidly allowed them to transit across the nations of Eastern Europe and up the gut into Austria and Germany as well as to France.  No wonder the British voted for Brexit, as without control of their borders, as a nation, Great Britain will cease to be.
To continue this discussion, we must look at the horrendous terrorist attack that hit France last Thursday where an Islamist, angry or unhappy with his lot in life, chose to commandeer a big rig truck and then drove it through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in the city of Nice.  At what point do the French people begin demanding a similar ‘Brexit’ of their own and demand that their leaders pull their nation out of the crumbling European Union?  I know if I was a French citizen and some Tunisian piece of crap ran over my family, I would dog Mr. Hollande until he began deporting non-citizen Muslims and reverts the nation to what it once was or faced removal from office.
Here in this country, we saw the terrible attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, last month when another Muslim killer killed a mass number of revelers at the gay dance club and wounded numerous others.  How many times do we need to see events such as this while our president comes out and wags a finger at us, telling us that ‘guns are the problem and not the Muslims?’  I have never seen anything such as this and as you should be able to tell, I have been around a long, long time so I have seen much over the course of my life.
When I began writing the draft of my first post for today, I heard that Turkish authorities were somehow regaining ground against the military coup.  Whatever happens, we have a problem on our hands as the nation anchors the NATO alliance’s eastern flank, bordering Syria.  We know the president despises the Syrian leadership and has made no secret that he would love to see it removed and a Sunni-led government replace it; if not ISIS then perhaps the Muslim Brotherhood.
Knowing this, I sometimes wonder whether Assad is a better person to have in power there rather than have a group such as ISIS flow in and take the nation over for good.  Up until ISIS criminals hit the Ataturk International Airport a couple of weeks ago, it appeared that the Turkish government felt it had things under control.  However, perhaps the military felt this was the last straw because they had more or less served as pathfinders for the passage of jihadists from the West into Syria and into the ranks of ISIS.
One thing I know I have heard is that if the Turkish president survives the coup, which it now looks as though he will (at the time of this writing), he will increase the Islamization of a once-democratic nation—and proud of it, too!—something that is not going to be good for the West but great for our enemies.  If Turkey topples into complete Islamic bedlam, we will see EVEN MORE people flooding the West because he will propel them forward unless the Western nations pay an exorbitant ransom.  Reminds one of Attila the Hun, huh?
By the time I return tomorrow, we will have more news than what I have now, seeing as how I began writing this post last Friday in anticipation of my upcoming week, beginning today.  Let us hope something positive happens to the world between here and tomorrow but only time will tell.  I sure as heck hope we do not suffer any additional terrorist attacks here in the United States but we shall see what we shall see—please, join me both here and at the secondary blog throughout this week as we cover the top stories of the day.
