The United States is not as Bad as the Liberal Sell-Out Democrats attempt to make it but if we no longer teach American History in High Schools and in College—even to History Majors—how are we to get the Truth out there?

BLOGPOST #2,053 AT THE AICP-END

It is a shame American history does not rank high on the list of classes to teach the young people
San Diego, CA, 07-05-2016 Tuesday:  I heard with some dismay last Friday that the teaching of American history in schools and colleges is something that is going by the side of the road.  It is hard to believe because our nation has long attempted to be the best it can be and in my view, despite some flaws in the fabric, it is still the best country on Earth.  I read with interest some of the posts written by my colleague, Chef Elmer K. Hootenstein in which, he noted the nation had some warts, especially those connected with slavery, but if you know the history of the nation, then you understand why the Founders allowed it to continue for another 89 years.
When the people of this nation made the determination that life under the British Crown was no longer something they could tolerate, they sought to sever ties with the motherland.   The fact that a distant power could impose its will upon the people of another land without giving them some sort of say in how the distant power governed them, they deemed it something that had to change or end.
Imagine if you here in the United States found yourself charged with some sort of crime.  Instead of a local court trying you and your peers sitting in judgment of you, let us pretend that the prosecutors sent you across the ocean to The Hague.  There, you might languish for a lengthy time span, deprived of your friends, your family, and the things you left at home.  Let us further imagine if the court considered you ‘guilty of all charges,’ until you managed somehow to find a way in which, to prove your innocence—how would you handle this?
This is how things were in the Colonies prior to the Revolutionary War that would create a new and independent country—the United States.  Prior to the revolution, the British Crown could require whatever it wanted from us.  We had to pay taxes sans representation, we had to bow to their laws whether they were just or not, and we had to house their soldiers within our homes, giving them room and board and allowing them to mistreat our families if they chose to do so.  No one would tolerate a situation such as this.
When the Founders began working on the Constitution, they wanted to set up the BEST FORM of government the world had ever seen and most likely would ever see.  However, they knew that if the colonies did not unite—that if the Northern ones went one way while the Southern ones went theirs—we would become ‘easy pickings’ for foreign powers.  What could we do?
The Founders compromised with the ‘Three-Fifths Clause’ and did so the South could not count slaves as one person for purposes of representation, which would have given the South control of the NEW nation and forever put off the question of slavery.
The Constitution and other founding documents expressed ideals of liberty, equality, and the rights granted us by God.  Even though wealthy landowners held human beings in bondage in the South, the Founders wrote the documents knowing that at some point, a future generation would right this one horrible wrong.  However, if the Constitution did not grant the right to own slaves where the institution already existed, there would be no United States but two separate and weak nations instead of one strong one.
In less than a century, the matter came to a head as South Carolina set in motion the breakup of the United States by declaring its succession from the nation in 1861.  Soon afterward, other Southern states joined them, forming the Confederacy in the meantime, one that consisted of eleven states (North and South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee), and two others the South claimed as theirs (Missouri and Kentucky).
President Abraham Lincoln did not want to see the nation torn asunder and brought his military and political leaders together to find a way to thwart the South and to heal the wounds of the young country.  We lost more than 600,000 Americans on both sides of the dividing line, fighting a war that ran from mid-1861 to mid-1865.  It was bloody, brutal, and hard fought but somehow the nation managed to reform itself.
As a Latino, I have heard the stories of what it was like when the nation crossed the plains and spread from sea to shining sea.  The people living in the American Southwest and in California suffered from the American invasion and the imposition of a legal code dissimilar to what Spain and then Mexico understood and knew.  Many ranchero owners lost their lands to the Yankees and felt aggrieved over the loss but in time, we became Americans ourselves and came to love the country.
Many people in modern-day America know little to no American history—with the exception of the BAD things—because for the educational system to do the dirty work of the liberal Democrats running the nation, it has to disseminate propaganda, half-truths, and complete fabrications as how bad the nation was and still is.
I always made sure I told my kids the truth.  Yes, Latinos suffered in this nation just as blacks did, Asians did, and the Native Americans did.  I even accept the fact that the LGBT community has grievances, too.  What I do not accept, however, is the idea that the white race is EVIL or BAD because different groups of white-skinned people have suffered, too.
The Irish did not enjoy a cakewalk, the White Anglo-Saxon Protestants (WASPS) deemed them newcomers little more than animals that shared a language and participated in criminal activities.  Many of them fresh off the boat found themselves drafted into the Union Army and sent to fight the Confederacy.  Still others, such as the famed San Patricios who went AWOL from the American army during the Mexican-American War of 1846-1848 and went to Mexico, suffered horribly.
You see, these Irish soldiers shared many things in common with Mexico, especially their Catholic faith.  We welcomed them to fight with the Mexican army, for liberty, for all of the things they sought upon leaving their homeland behind.  They fought during the fight to stave off the Yankee army at Mexico City and those who had suffered recapture by American forces underwent horrendous flogging before their captors strung up and murdered as deserters while those in the fight died where they fell.
What we have to remember about these things is that at this time in the history of the world, this is how military and political leaders typically dealt with things.  While we might, harbor grudges and long for something that might have been, it is not reality and we can choose either to move forward or to live in the past, a past no longer available to us.
Over the course of time, every group has fought for equal treatment under the law, for recognition, and for acceptance.  We have leaders who now seek to keep us at war with one another as they continue stuffing this ludicrous idea of social justice down the throats of those they tell are STILL persecuted by the whites.
Folks, none of the white people I know persecute me; however, I will tell you that the current regime, that of Barack Hussein Obama, does its best to persecute everyone while telling them “YOU ARE SPECIAL.”
If I were gay following what occurred at the Pulse nightclub, I would be outraged because it would be clear to me that Muslims are at the acme of the societal pole while everyone else is farther down or at the bottom.  It is not rich white Republicans doing this to us; no, it is rich white and sell-out minority Democrats who are doing this to us—hence, why I am now an independent.
My former Democrat friends and the president for whom I voted twice continue dividing people from one another in their nonstop quest for power, influence, and to live at a level above us to which, none of us can attain—unless we play their game.  Well, I for one am old so I could care less what they do to me.
What’s more, I do not plan to sell out my family, friends or me, nor do I plan to surrender my guns to the assholes in Sacramento.  If Kevin De Leon or Jerry Brown seeks to hit a hornet’s nest, they can attempt to do what King Obama cannot do and that is to come after us, the people, including me.
See you tomorrow, the Good Lord Willing, people.
Thank you,
Pedro Munoz

MORE TO COME FROM THE ROLLING STONES

TUESDAY, JULY 05, 2016
The Rolling Stones released an album in 2005, “Rarities 1971-2003,” which definitely is not a true ‘rarities’ album.  Then again, fans of the band always want to hear their music, whether it is an ‘unknown’ tune, or it is something that graced a “B”-side to a single.  Most hardcore fans who check out the tracks on this CD will decide for his or herself that the album whets their appetite or does not.  We wish that the band would release ‘official’ versions of all of the bootlegs that were available to us back in the late 1960s or the early-to-mid 1970s such as “Live at the Roundhouse.”  A bootleg such as that one is where; the band actually began classic tunes with a phony beginning to throw the crowd into a tizzy when they finally kicked the tune into high gear.  Ah, well, we can only hope they do before the band or the fans that were there in the beginning die.  Please, use the link we provide you here so you can go to Amazon.com and pick it up there in the format, the condition, and the price that is best for you—you will be glad you did.
