SUMMER SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #2,062 AT THE AICP-END

When I was young, I was a far left ideologue
Century City, CA, 07-14-2016 Thursday: I have seen others write here at the blog how the nation is close to what it was during the pivotal year of 1968, a year about 48 years ago.  The 1960s was a horrible time for many as the level of strife, whether between classes or between skin colors and even political divisions was at an all-time high, something no one has seen other than during the run-up to the Civil War.  That means, we have people running the country or who seek to who were alive during the 1960s and live and breathe the fire of undeniable radicalism.
Radicalism is but an offshoot of Progressivism, the polite name for ‘communism.’  When I was a young man, I drank long and deep of the Kool-Aid that friends and family placed before me.  I saw the world through pot-addled eyes and used selective hearing to hear what I wanted to while blotting out what I did not.  I was there with the people who were marching in the streets because I felt their arguments and demands had a legitimate basis as otherwise, why demand them.
You see, the Bologolo Family had liberal ties and beliefs and we thought it was only right to hit the streets and to walk with those seeking a reduction of police brutality. Although I grew up in the sleepy farm town of Hanford, California, I did go to college in the Bay Area from 1967-1971.  I will not say what college, however, as I do not want people delving any deeper into my identity than the miniscule one I share here as a blogger.
During my time in San Francisco, I went to the streets to protest what I saw as an unfair war, the one in Vietnam.  My college deferment and the fact that I was married kept me out of the fray, which I felt was good.  I did not see any purpose of heading overseas to kill and maim those whom I did not know and would never have known had the government sent me there.  Too many people were dying in the war as well as suffering all sorts of physical abuse on the streets back home in America.
Over the years, I veered into environmentalism as I did not feel it right to permit big industry to pollute the planet as much as they liked without some sort of pushback.  In so doing, I continued walking down the path of leftwing liberal politics.
However, when I left school and quit working in northern California because the cost of living was phenomenal, I moved to Wasco, California, so I could work at the Wasco Café, and to return to a much simpler life such as what I had known as a farm boy.  I always enjoyed the small town environment because everyone knew one another and that made life better for everyone.
In the 1980s, I found my way up to Portland, Oregon, and went to work in a restaurant there as the executive chef.  I fell back into the leftist environment that seems to pervade the Northwest and enjoyed the strong environmental politics so common throughout the region.  I joined the Green Party and jumped in headfirst so I could make a difference and save the planet, something in which, I felt strongly and contributed much time, effort, and money.
Eventually, I found myself living and working in Mukilteo, Washington, where I met Stinkbug, and we formed a great friendship.  Although we differed completely in our political views, we could debate them back and forth without wanting to kill one another.  He also became a second father to my kids, and this brought us even closer and that is how I eventually ended up becoming a contributor to the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day.
That said, over the past eight years, my views have begun to undergo a transformation I never would have thought possible.  I guess one might say that that’s ‘age,’ and maybe it is so or maybe I just woke up and saw the world clearly for the first time.
I saw the politics of environmentalism a hollow shell used by people who want to push the nation and the world towards Globalism and communism.  I mean, one of the biggest eye-openers besides the emails from East Anglia University in Great Britain is the fact that Governor Jerry Brown of California—a man who fears rising seas—would rather water flow out to sea than to the farms of the southern San Joaquin Valley.
When I began looking at some of the things that do not make sense such as the aforementioned water situation, I began revisiting things through clean glasses.  How can we environmentalists favor allowing water from northern California to flow out through San Francisco Bay and into the Pacific Ocean when we fear rising sea levels, levels that supposedly are going to swamp many parts of the country and the world?  It makes absolutely no sense, especially when former farmland becomes housing tracts with swimming pools and other water-based amenities.
You see, as we continue to buy more and more food items for our restaurants and grocery stores from outside the country instead of growing it here in America, prices go up and food becomes increasingly more costly and distant for those who need cheap food the most.
Instead of reducing our population, our state and the nation continues bringing in more and more poor people who will remain dependent upon government handouts for decades to come.  How does this make sense?  It makes utterly NO sense to me or to anyone I know.
I think when one begins pulling the curtain away from the dais and truly sees Oz, the Great and Powerful, back there using tricks and special effects to get his way; one begins to see the world for exactly what it is.  We see it as one in which those who believe themselves above reproach use we, the people, as dupes to achieve their end means.  I hope we all begin waking up and seeing the reality of the duplicity the leftwing leaders seek to impose upon us because once we lose our rights, it will take violence to get them back.
Please, do not fail to understand what I am saying, folks, as I am not promoting violence in the streets.  That is something the Left uses more so than the Right and historical references throughout history are available at a few keywords.  I think we need to remove the shackles rampant, unchecked environmentalism imposes upon FREE peoples and to allow people to return to Conservation, protecting the resources we have while fighting pollution.
I hate to say it but talk of humanity destroying the world is incredible, seeing as how it is not true.  During World War II, more bombs fell from airplanes or burst from the barrels of massive artillery pieces while two nuclear weapons brought the Imperial Japanese to their knees.  How many fire bombings did the world witness during the years 1937-1945 (we must count when Japan invaded China as our beginning point) and yet, the world is still here.
Anyone who says the planet is in peril is filling your hearts and minds with erroneous stuff, stuff that manipulates the mind and feeds the soul with falsehoods.  Propaganda, folks, nothing but propaganda, bull*** and lies—negatives we as a free and educated people must ignore and avoid.
We must reclaim the country as given us by our parents and grandparents and if that means telling the truth seven days a week and around the clock, then that is what we must do.  You see, the greatest threat facing the world is overpopulation and Islamic jihadists, something we can contend with if we but set our minds to doing it.
(Note, I am still a Green Party member at heart but seek to transform it into an HONEST party and not a devious one—they need to stop with the Jim Jones’ rhetoric).
That will do it for today, please, let me know what y9ou think and we will debate the issues and find the answers we need.  We must elect someone who will restore the United States to the platform with which, the world depends upon it instead of allowing lunatics and crackpots to steal it from us.  Think about your children and their children and think about how the planet survived two major world wars and numerous smaller ones and yet, the Earth still spins round on its axis.
See you tomorrow.
Thank you,
PEACE!

This photo is one of me taken at an ACF Convention back in the early 1960's when I was a representative from our California chapter.  Anyhow, I'm a great deal older than this picture now but that's what we're doing, sharing OLD pictures of all of us.  I'm still a handsome man, however!
