SPRING SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #2,012 AT THE AICP-END

We have decided to sever ties with Facebook and bid Mr. Zuckerberg farewell…
Mukilteo, WA, 05-25-2016 Wednesday: We have decided at the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, that we are going to say ‘farewell’ to the Facebook page for several reasons.  The first being we have not brought many of our readers to the AICP-END page from any of our assorted personal Facebook pages (for those of us who have them).  We think that if people want to see the album of the day and if they wish to see the Beverly Carrick painting of the day, then they need to come to the blog every day and see them here.
Another reason we are not big on Facebook is that the site punishes conservative viewpoints while pushing liberal ones, something of which, the world has more than enough.  If Mark Zuckerberg cannot be honest, open, and fair, then we say to him, “Go screw yourself.”  Why patronize someone such as Zuckerberg who thinks at his young age that he can truly mold the news that people his age and younger see, believe, and spout.  No, we cannot continue being a part of that losing organization and besides, it gives us far more time to do our work here.
That probably is the most important thing for us, seeing as how we never have enough time to do the work Stinkbug and Mo delegate to us so that in itself is a good thing.  We NEVER have enough time to do everything our normal jobs require of us much less what we need to do here.  We think that by restructuring our duties we can gain more time, write better posts, and keep putting our opinions out there for the world to see, assimilate, and to which, they can adapt.
As far as Google goes, we also have issues with them seeing as how they seem to want to keep us in the ‘sandbox,’ something that is fair to no blogger no matter how good (or not) he or she is (or all the other gender ‘classifications’ we have been told there are—bullshit).  We have been doing this for more than five years now and two years ago, our numbers were going up every single day and then all of a sudden, in the 2014 mid-terms, we found out that our numbers evaporated like mist overnight.  No one knows why this is nor do we know what we can do about it other than that we need to build our own Website and write our own articles for publication on other sites.  It is that or close up shop sometime later in the year.
What we would like to hear from you is whether you find our blog enjoyable or not, whether or not you would care to participate or whether or not we should throw in the towel, sell off our assets, and go about our business elsewhere.  We want active participation from our readership instead of coming, going, and remaining mum on the posts upon which, we labor with love.  We even welcome lunatics and nuts to share their opinions, tell us where we are wrong, which allows us to debate the issues.  Otherwise, what the f*** is the point?
Please, let us know what you think and we will combine our minds because without interaction with you, we may as well hang up coats, turn off the fires, shut off the exhaust fans, and go home for good.
Thank you,
V. Gdansk

This is a photo of I, your host, back in the 1980's when I was the Executive Chef at a country club in the Napa Valley but for security purposes, we have scaled some of our personal info back.  However, I spent many years working in professional foodservice, having begun as a young boy working for my father in his restaurant over on the coast in Pismo Beach.  Foodservice is in my blood and it is something I still do actively every day in my late eighties in Washington State.

MORE TO COME FROM THE ROLLING STONES

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2016
Mick Taylor released his second solo album in 1990, “Stranger in this Town.”  For those who have been with the Rolling Stones and their members from the VERY beginning, we love each period of the band.  The Brian Jones period was very creative, Jones being proficient on any instrument with which he sat down for a couple of hours.  After he fell out of the band, the Stones recruited Mick Taylor from John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and he provided some of the BEST music the band ever recorded/performed through his very fluid guitar work.  After he left in 1974, The Stones moved on as did he.  In 1979, he released his first self-titled album and this is his follow-up to that one, a live album featuring him performing the blues as only he, and very others can do.  For those of us who have had the good fortune to see him LIVE, you know what a treat his musical talent is and can be and that is WHY we urge you to seek this CD out by using our link so you can go to Amazon.com and pick it up there.
