SPRING SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #1,978 AT THE AICP-END

Don’t you find it amazing that Donald Trump NEVER complains about the politics of the states he WINS?
Taft, CA, 04-21-2016 Thursday: Yesterday, we talked politics and we will discuss it again today as it is ‘all the rage’ right now.  I find it amazing that Donald Trump NEVER complains about the ‘state of affairs’ in the states he wins, only in those he does not.  My sneaking suspicion is that the Donald knew it ‘all along, boys and girls, he knew it all along.’  In fact, as the theory goes, he knew it last August as did the other sixteen candidates, and has kept it in his secret pouch to use when someone else such as Senator Cruz began cleaning his clock.
If we look back at each step of the way, anytime anyone gets close to him, Trump reaches into his Felix the Cat’s grab bag of tricks and unloads onto the unfortunate individual who gets close to him.  He also has used ‘political endorsements’ in the past from vanquished foes such as Governor Chris Christie and Dr. Ben Carson, before dispatching them back to wherever they came from to shield him from embarrassing losses.
After Megyn Kelly unfairly sought to take the Donald out in the first debate, Trump said some things that the pundits and the politicos all said would ‘knock him out of the race.’  Well, mentioning ‘her period’ aka ‘time of the month’ did not knock the man out of the early running and with every step of the way, he continued increasing the level of the insults, the innuendoes, the slander, the libel, and the shotgun blasts until people swore up and down, ‘THIS TIME WOULD BE IT!’
As we know, NOTHING has been it, even when multiple attacks coming from all sides hammered him relentlessly.  Trump fought back, long and hard, slamming one foe after another until one-by-one each of them fell out until only Ted Cruz and that loser, John Kasich remain.
Now, Trump, knowing that if HE has to debate both of them will end up appearing like the LOSER he could very well be debating those who KNOW the score.  Trump may know the score, too, but when it comes to details—and believe me, the proof is in the details—he cannot compete with two veteran politicians.
This is WHY Mr. Trump will continue hurling insults and acting as though he is the nominee.  We know Hillary Clinton sure acts as though she has dealt Senator Sanders a major blow by winning her ‘adopted’ home state but many still think Bernie has ‘life.’  He does have life and he can still win the rest of the New England the bulk of the Middle Atlantic States, which could embarrass Mrs. Clinton.  If Senator Sanders manages to reclaim some of his impetus—and we must recall he won eight of nine contests prior to New York—Donald Trump will use it to make hay.
In essence, the campaign is far from over no matter how much the two front-runners would like it to be and this next Tuesday and the one after that are going to be highly interesting.  Besides, you cannot imagine how excited the people of California are that OUR votes will count for once as they once did decades ago.
How California can be at the end of the campaign schedule instead of at the beginning is BEYOND any of us who live in this tarnished state.  We want our votes to count and this year they will.
You all have an awesome day, we are doing our best to pick up where we left off, and please note that this is the first election cycle that we have worked our utmost best to keep up with it from the very start.
Thank you for continuing to be readers of the blog, we welcome everyone to leave comments and share their thoughts on anything.  See you tomorrow.
Thank you.

MORE TO COME FROM THE ROLLING STONES

THURSDAY, APRIL 21, 2016
In 1974, the Rolling Stones released their next studio album—the final one upon which, Mick Taylor would play.  “It’s Only Rock-and-Roll,” was a great album, and the title cut was a monster single.  As always, the band was moving through various styles, rock, Jamaican-influenced, you name it the band had it.  “If you can’t Rock Me” opened the album followed by “Ain’t too Proud to Beg,” the title cut, and on into one of their all-time greatest tunes, “Time Waits for No One.”  “Dance Little Sister,” “Luxury,” and even “Fingerprint File,” there was not a single bad cut on the album.  Ron Wood and Kenney Jones of the Faces put in a guest appearance on the title track and this is where Wood came to the attention of the Stones.  As the band was planning its tour in support of the album, Mick Taylor up and quit leaving them in the lurch.  Please, seek this album out at Amazon.com; you will be glad you did no doubt about it.
