SPRING SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #1,977 AT THE AICP-END

Big Election yesterday
Taft, CA, 04-20-2016 Wednesday: Friends, it appears that things went the way most people thought they would go what with Donald Trump cleaning up in New York State as well as Hillary Clinton pummeling the snot out of Bernie Sanders in the same statewide election.  Still, Hillary did not clean the floor with the irascible Vermonter nor did she drive him out of the race.
What we do know, however, apparently a LARGE number of voters in Brooklyn who most likely would have voted for Senator Sanders suffered disenfranchisement.  For some reason, when more than 125,000 voters went to the polls in the former home of the Dodgers and Senator Sanders, they discovered that their enrollment in the voting rolls did not go as they thought it did—they screwed up and were left off them.
Oh, sure, they got the provisional ballot but as anyone knows who has ever had to go that route; it is not the most pleasant way to go.  People look at you, they peer at you, and they think you have gone there to STEAL a vote so I can imagine what it must have been like for 125,000 or more suddenly finding that the system has disenfranchised them.
On the GOP side, Governor Kasich managed to pull into the number 2 spot on the polling while poor, poor Senator Cruz slipped into a dismal third place—a first for him.  Hell, it was a first for Donald Trump, too, the first time he went over the 40-45-percent margin and you know what?—I think he did it with the constant bashing of the senator from Texas.
“Lyin’ Ted, lyin’ Ted, “you spell it l-y-i-n-apostrophe Ted.’ The man hates New York values, he despises the GREAT liberal bastion of New York, and he wants to see the city go to hell.  I do not believe that but we saw the Donald trash Dr. Ben Carson as being pathological, a child molester, and a liar, all of which, drove him out of the race (and into the Trump camp).
What’s more, we watched what the Donald did to “Little” Marco Rubio, he used the derogative name for him repeatedly and no matter what Senator Rubio did, even descending into the slime pit and trading one on one and even going farther, he ended up dropping out of the race following his loss in Florida.  Trump is a cage fighter, a pit fighter, he will say or do whatever he needs to do or say so he can knock his opponents out and leave them stunned, gasping for air.
We still have other battles to fight, next week, the rest of the mid-Atlantic states and Maryland next week followed by Indiana and then in June, well, the big finale happens, people in OUR state—the Golden State—go to the polls along with Oregon and one or two others.  Whether Donald Trump will win BIG outside of the very liberal northeast remains for us to see and we sure do hope that Cruz and Kasich keep him honest.
Thanks for joining me today and sorry for the delay, we have had some publishing issues lately and hope to be soon back on track. Please, join me over at the secondary blog today, too.
Thank you!

MORE TO COME FROM THE ROLLING STONES

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 2016
In 1973, the Rolling Stones former record company put out a compilation album entitled, “No Stone Unturned,” a great album that once again included B-sides to A-sides of singles and other tunes released in the UK but not in the United States.  The Stones always recorded lots of material because in the early days, the band was on tour almost constantly so when they entered the studio, they recorded loads of back stock.  This is a fine album and it contains some cuts that as of then were not available in the U.S., which is why you need to seek the CD out at Amazon.com by using our link so you can pick it up there in the format, the condition, and the price that is best for you.
