WINTER SESSION 2015-16

BLOGPOST #1,927 AT THE AICP-END

Welcome to Super Tuesday
Ventura, CA, 03-01-2016 Tuesday: Today is Super Tuesday, which means voters in the follow states will go to the polls: (1) Alabama (2) Arkansas (3) Georgia (4) Massachusetts (5) Oklahoma (6) Tennessee (7) Texas (8) Vermont and (9) Virginia.  The following states will hold caucuses: (10) Alaska (11) Colorado (12) Minnesota and (13) Wyoming.  Everyone says that Donald Trump is going to clean up in almost all of the states and possibly even in Texas, too, if he can overcome the people who love Ted Cruz.
On the flipside of the coin, Hillary Clinton seems to have the edge in every state but Colorado and Vermont, where Senator Bernie Sanders, pundits predict will win the day.  Whatever the outcome, it is hard to imagine how anyone can derail the Trump and Clinton freight trains but one never knows until people go and VOTE.
My Democrat colleagues here at the blog tend to favor Senator Bernie Sanders over Mrs. Clinton
The Democrats here at the blog seem to align more with Senator Sanders than they do with Hillary Clinton because to them, Hillary seems to be a crook.  How can people vote for someone that they feel is a liar, a person who spatters untruths around her wherever the veteran politician goes?
It is clear that everyone believes that Bernie Sanders is an honorable man, a person who does not lie, and a politician who truly wants to improve the lives of everyone with whom he comes in contact.  Hillary, on the other hand, could come under federal indictment at any moment if Loretta Lynch and the Justice Department does its job and prosecutes her.
I mean, how can they justify what they have done to poor General David Petraeus who almost went to prison because he mishandled sensitive information with his biographer?  Hell, the man still faces possible future legal troubles if they decide to take him back to court.
My Republican colleagues are split as to whom they want to be the nominee
Those of us who support Republicans find ourselves mostly split between Ted Cruz and the overbearing reality TV star, Donald Trump.  I like Donald Trump, I also like Ted Cruz and will vote for either one if they appear on the ballot here in California.
What’s more, I think Donald Trump would have no problem whatsoever winning the general election in November of this year whereas Ted Cruz might face more resistance from not only the Democrats but from the mainstream Republican camp, too.
Do not get me wrong, the mainstream RINO wing hates BOTH men but I think they believe they can make ‘deals’ with Donald Trump whereas Cruz will stick to his principles and is not someone to whom they would give their support.
Undeniably, Ted Cruz suffered a mortal blow when Senator Jeff Sessions threw his support to Donald Trump on Sunday
The Cruz campaign suffered a blow on Sunday when conservative senator and anti-illegal immigration advocate Jeff Sessions of Alabama threw his endorsement to the Donald.
I am sure Ted Cruz was hoping that perhaps Sessions would throw his nod in the direction of Cruz but it is clear that the Alabama Republican sees unstoppable momentum and wants to go with a winner.
Many Republicans in both the House and Senate have been wavering when it comes to endorsing Donald Trump out of fear that their mainstream GOP leadership would grow outraged and deny them both money and support at reelection time.
I think throwing in with Trump, however, counters any resistance that might come from the RINOS because Trump can fund his Republican endorsees should they need it.
Besides Sessions, Trump has other endorsees as well
We also saw some other endorsements recently such as Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey coming out for Donald Trump and prior to him, we saw Sarah Palin—although how much her endorsement matters remains for us to see—jumped on the Trump bandwagon.
Even when Trump would not bash or denounce former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke seemingly does not matter, he continues to receive the love and support from his so-called ‘Trumpsters,’ people who will vote for him NO matter what he says or does
Do you remember his comment from a month or so ago, in which he said he ‘could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and would not lose a single vote?’  Ai-yi-yi, that would doom any other politician except for Trump and most likely, Hillary, too.
It says a great deal about his supporters and their love for the irascible candidate.
Here is the number of delegates on the line for the GOP today
The total GOP number of delegates at stake for today is 595.  Alabama has 50 delegates, Alaska, 28, Arkansas, 40, Georgia, 76, and Massachusetts, 42.   Minnesota has 38, Oklahoma, 43, Tennessee, 58, and Texas, 155.  Vermont has another 16 delegates while Virginia has 49, and finally, Wyoming has 29.
The Democrats, on the other hand, have a higher number of delegates at stake and here they are: Alabama, 60, American Samoa, 11, Arkansas, 37, Colorado, 78, and Georgia, 117.  Minnesota has 93 delegates while Oklahoma has 42, Tennessee, 75, Texas, 251, Vermont, 26, and Virginia, 109.
The above compiled number is a large group of delegates that most likely will push Hillary Clinton over the top seeing as how she also has the Super Delegates on her side thanks to the machinations of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
Ms. Schultz, as you know, is the DNC chair.
Numerous of my Democrat colleagues despise Ms. Wasserman-Schultz
I know that some of the colleagues I have here at the blog despise Ms. Wasserman-Schultz as being in the tank—up to her neck—for Hillary Clinton.
I think they have some sort of agreement between them that after what Barack Hussein Obama did to Mrs. Clinton back in 2008—you know, commit political rape by turning the coronation into a beat-down of sorts—it will not happen a second time.
I think that both Mrs. Clinton and Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz did not expect that Senator Sanders would do as well as he has but I think the fix is in and that Sanders, is going to go down tomorrow unless the Millennials and the Gen-X voters turn out in droves for the old man.
He does appeal to them and they need to vote for him to keep him in the race.
Tomorrow, we should know the ‘gory outcome’
By the time we reconvene tomorrow, we should know the results of all the battling.
My hope is that Marco Rubio will be OUT of the race; however, listening to the Floridian yammer away at Mr. Trump on the stump, he seems to feel he can go ALL the way to the GOP convention and combat the Donald on the floor for the nomination.
I believe, too, that Governor John Kasich of Ohio and maybe even Dr. Ben Carson hope to do the same or to make some deal to leave the race for vice presidential consideration.
I hope, however, that if Rubio, Carson, and Kasich left the race, Ted Cruz could possibly pull into a neck-and-neck sprint and maybe even trounce him.  What do you think?  Like I say, I like them both but I would love to see them unite to beat the others and then the Democrat.
Oh, as of the 15th of the month, the races switch to ‘winner-take-all,’ which should decide the nominees once and for all.  See you tomorrow.
Thank you!

TUESDAY, MARCH 01, 2016
In 2007, the Spencer Davis Group released another live CD, “Official Bootleg and Unplugged,” an album culled from a 2005 European tour stop in Germany.  The album that came out in 2007 is a one-disc CD featuring some of the classic early tracks of the band smoking hot and live and then in 2015, a two-CD set would appear that would include even MORE amazing hits by this classic British Invasion group that came to the United States in the mid-1960s.  Anyone who has heard the original “Gimmie Some Lovin’” blasting out of an AM radio remembers just how fundamentally hot the group was and even in this later incarnation, they still rip it up, so to speak.  Please, use our link to go to Amazon.com and pick the CD up there in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you—you will be glad you did.

  1. EC discusses the lead up to Super Tuesday today, and what is in store for the winners and the losers at the close of the day. There are gobs of delegates on both sides of the aisle and while most think they know what the outcome could be, well, there is always hope that the outcomes could be different. I hope Bernie wins half of the states as well as American Samoa. I hope Ted Cruz and Dr. Carson rise up and smack Donald Trump in his fat yap. We need to move past fighting about spray tans, the size of hands, hell; it could be about who can pee the farthest and who can stare down his or her opponent until they flinch. We shall see what happens at the end of the day; the TV will be on in the kitchen until we shut everything down and go home. Please, let me know what you think. / Posted by Chef Vladimir Gdansk of the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, posted @ 12:29 P.M. PST
