WINTER SESSION 2015-16

BLOGPOST #1,933 AT THE AICP-END

We are living in the Age of Anger
Oildale, CA, 03-07-2016 Monday: Greetings and welcome again, I am glad actually to have an opportunity to converse with the readership again seeing as how the last time I actually did posts at the blog I created, was back in July of last year.  The only time I have been here is doing Facebook posts and leaving comments on various posts.  Since then, much has happened in the way of political debate, in the campaigns, and in the attitudes of the American people.
About a month ago, I made predictions as to what would happen in New Hampshire and I have to say, I was completely wrong—how embarrassing.  I said that Donald Trump would win, followed by Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, and John Kasich.  I also said that Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz would finish farther down the political food chain—I think I called it all wrong.
Donald Trump won New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada
Donald Trump did well.  The ones who did not have stunned me such as the recent collapses of Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich, albeit the last two struggle onward with Rubio winning Puerto Rico yesterday—big deal.  Perhaps, Donald Trump should build some luxury hotels there.
It is crystal clear the mainstream GOP is in deep, deep trouble and that is why we saw Mitt Romney insert his snoot into the race by attempting to take Donald Trump out with his speech.
I cannot imagine what prompted Mitt Romney to enter the campaign by giving a speech during the day of which, a political debate would follow that night; did he really think that what he had to say would matter?  It only mattered to the enemies of Donald Trump who used it against him but to NO avail.
I hate to bash Mitt Romney; however:
I do not want to bash the man because yes, I voted for him in 2012 as I thought Governor Romney was going to save the party.  I guess I should have known that he would not because I hoped the schmo had the chutzpah to go the distance and go toe-to-toe with President Obama.
We all saw what happened there, did we not?  In their first debate, Governor Romney came out and pulverized President Obama on virtually every question thrown their way by the moderators.  One could clearly see the peeved expression the president exhibited.  I do not believe he suspected that he would suffer the hammering he did—it was brutal.
Following the first debate of October 03, 2012, Governor Romney went into a lull
After that, however, the good governor went into a stall, giving President Obama an opportunity to recover from the drubbing he took.  We do not know for certain, as to what the handlers of Governor Romney told him.  Perhaps, they told him, “You got it in the bag, Mitt, hold back from pummeling him any further because people might see you as a bully, picking on an overwhelmed schmuck.”
The ‘schmuck,’ unfortunately recovered his balance and in the following pair of debates on October 16 and 22 managed to regain his balance fighting the former governor of Massachusetts to a standstill, possibly outpointing him in the process.
What happened to Governor Romney?
Whatever happened to Governor Romney, the president won enough votes to gain a second term and from then on, has continued ramming one piece of his agenda down the throats of the American people after another.
It has been ugly, folks, we have seen little in the way of opposition from a frightened GOP although they swear they are doing their best to stop him.  Are they kidding?
It appeared that John Boehner did a better job fighting against a rebellious conservative component in the House until he finally threw in the towel and handed it off to Paul Ryan.
Meanwhile, across the hall in the Senate, Mitch McConnell continues to do what he always does and that is bow to pressure from the Democrat minority.  Oh, he says he is doing all he can but I see the man as a Democrat wearing a RINO skin.
The Mainstream GOP begs for our continued ‘help’
The mainstream Republican leadership continues to beg the people to believe they are fighting on OUR behalf and not on their own, which simply is not true.  The reason we have a ‘Donald Trump’ is that we had a John Boehner, have a Mitch McConnell, a Paul Ryan, and a Kevin McCarthy.
We have a Donald Trump because we have a Jeb Bush, a John McCain, and a Lindsey Graham.
We have a Donald Trump because of all the rest of the lying RINOS such as Chris Christie, Mitt Romney, as well as had a George W. and a George H.W. Bush.
This is WHY there is a Donald Trump and WHY he is doing so damned well in the 2016 race for the GOP nomination—the American people are tired of lying Republicans.  Mitt “I’m severely conservative’ Romney is both a liberal and a failure, this is why no one except for OTHER RINOS believe him.
To understand the present cycle, we must look at past cycles
All we need to do to understand a present election cycle is to look back at the ones that come before the current one.
This is what I am saying about where we find ourselves with Donald Trump.  The unstoppable billionaire did not suddenly appear on the scene; no, he has been out there biding his time.
At some point, the people of the country were going to head to their barns, pick up their pitchforks, scythes, and ignite their torches.  Once they did this, they began plodding up the hill to the place where the aristocrats live and take them on and this is what Trump has awaited.
Bernie Sanders has awaited the same thing and the disaffected Democrats have turned to him to make things better.  We are in the Age of Anger.  We live in a time when the ‘same old same old’ is not going to cut the mustard anymore, folks.  We want REAL CHANGE and we want it NOW.
People on both sides of the Political Grand Canyon are ANGRY
I hope you find enlightenment in what I have said today because we do indeed live in a time of great hostility to status quo.  People on both sides of the political Grand Canyon feel anger at having their leaders tell them, “This is what we are going to do for you” and then fail to do it, sometimes not even trying to do it.
I understand WHY people want Donald Trump to win the White House, they want him to go there, grab the losers by the scruffs of their necks, shaking them as a dog does a struggling rat, and then toss them aside disemboweled.
What I do not understand is that how the Democrats do not seem tired of the status quo and that no matter how hard Bernie Sanders works, the leadership has rigged the game in favor of the same old thing.
Someone said this the other day in our Facebook comments that ‘if Donald Trump or Ted Cruz lose the race for the White House in November (should they win the nomination), the Republicans will establish their own ‘super delegate’ system so what we see happening this year will never happen again.’
See you tomorrow, folks; it is nice to be back in the saddle.
Thank you!

  1. Stinkbug discusses his concept of the “Age of Anger,” a time in the United States in which, the people have declared “ENOUGH!—WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE.” This is sort of an age of Enlightenment, too, one in which, the people no longer are going to accept their status of sitting in the back of the bus. We want progress, we want the future to be better than the past and we do not want the same ol’, same ol’, folks, we want true hope and change.
