SPRING SESSION 2016

BLOGPOST #1,952 AT THE AICP-END

HOLY SATURDAY

Today is Holy Saturday and we have another slow day to enjoy
Kula, HI, 03-26-2016 Saturday: Today is Holy Saturday, the day Jesus spent with Death in the Underworld.  There, He conquered Death and would arise the following day, Easter Sunday.  We praise and love Him for bestowing the gift of eternal life upon us, it is something for which, we as true believers strive our entire lives because the gates of heaven only open to those deserving to enter them.
I am sure we all have things on our consciences that lead us to believe we will NEVER pass through the gates but if we repent, if we pray enough and beg forgiveness for our sins, then all of us may hope to one day enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Please, pray to the Lord, beg His forgiveness, seek out His love, and seek everlasting life.  I truly despair for those who mock and who laugh at Christians, deriding our beliefs, and even taking up hands against us.
It is the same with the jihadists running amuck in many parts of the world, these people who claim belief in a false and dishonest ‘prophet,’ Mohammad, is truly the hands of Satan doing his bidding, all of whom will serve the Great Deceiver in the pits of hell; to them, I say, “Good riddance.”
We will pick up where we left off yesterday with the next batch of Moody Blues albums.  Here is the deal: we do not promote their albums as though we are the moneylenders haunting the Great Temple in Jerusalem, we present them so we can take the time off to spend with our families and friends.  You can buy them at Amazon.com if you wish or you can just admire what we have written about them as well as the amazing artwork adorning the LP covers.  Here we go:

“Seventh Sojourn” by the Moody Blues
In 1972, the Moody Blues put out their seventh album (eighth if you count “Moody Blues #1), “Seventh Sojourn.”  At this point, the band was beginning to run out of steam as music continued moving through various transformations that, by the middle of the 1970’s, would see the birth of Disco, something that hurt many of the legendary bands of 1960’s.
However, the Moodies always managed to cobble together unique tunes, but the days of MASSIVE airplay on AM and FM radio stations had diminished.  Still, we love this band as will you and we highly suggest this CD especially for the many new fans who have seen the band live on stage.  Please, visit Amazon.com and pick this CD up in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for YOU!
“This is the Moody Blues” by the Moody Blues
After the decline of success following last week’s release, “Seventh Sojourn,” the Moody Blues decided to go on hiatus.  During this time off, they began working on solo projects and working with other artists.  Their record company decided that NOW was a great time to have the band put out a ‘best of’ compilation directed at their legion of fans as well as some new ones who were beginning to move towards the unique sound personified by the group.
In 1974, “This is the Moody Blues” came out and contained the band’s best material ALL in one convenient place.  This is why we urge you to use our convenient link posted up top so you can go directly to Amazon.com where you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you, your ears, and your pocketbook so go there NOW! You will be glad you did!

“Blue Jays” by Justin Hayward and John Lodge of the Moody Blues
In 1975 while the Moody Blues went on hiatus, Justin Hayward and John Lodge—guitarist/vocalist and bassist/vocalist respectively—collaborated on a top-selling CD, “Blue Jays.”
This album carried on the sound of the group while allowing them to do other things they might have been unable to do within the group.  The album did very well and fans of the band love it to pieces so we suggest that if you are interested in the Moodies that you use our link to go to Amazon.com and picking it up in the format, the condition, and the price (about $7.00 for the audio CD) and enjoy it.

“Caught Live plus Five” by the Moody Blues
We have a great album for you today, the first by the Moody Blues while the second is a solo effort by bassist and vocalist John Lodge.  The album by the Moody Blues is “Caught Live plus Five,” an album that came out in 1977 and marked the beginning of the band’s comeback effort.
Originally, a two-disk set, the first three sides of the record album contained the band live in action while the fourth side contained FIVE new songs, one by each of the five members.  We love this CD and urge you to check it out at Amazon.com so you can check it out—it is great.

“Natural Avenue” by John Lodge of the Moody Blues
The next album by John Lodge—a solo album—came out in 1977 and is entitled, “Natural Avenue.”  John is one of two main parts of the Moody Blues, working with Justin Hayward or writing solo and the two together fronts the band and continues to do so until today.
We urge everyone to seek out both of these CDs by using the above two links we provide you here to go to Amazon.com so you can seek both out.  There, you can get them in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for YOU so go there now—you will be glad you did!

“From Mighty Oaks” and “Hopes, Wishes and Dreams” by Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues

We back track today to two albums Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues—vocalist, flautist, and other horns—released in 1975 and 1976 while the band was on hiatus.  The first CD is “From Mighty Oaks” (1975) while the second one from 1976 is “Hopes, Wishes, and Dreams.” Mr. Thomas is the third songwriter and singer behind the Moodies’ sound and definitely is worthy of hearing.
He remained with the band for a long, long time and only recently had to step out because of his health issues in 2002.   The first CD, “From Mighty Oaks” is similar as is his work with the main band while the second one, “Hopes, Wishes, and Dreams,” is, as well.  You can see that the sound of the Moody Blues is a combination of all five of the original members whether together or separately and that is WHY both of these CDs are ones you need to add to your collection.
Please use the handy links posted up top so you can pick both CDs up in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for YOU at the world’s greatest online marketplace-- Amazon.com!

“The Promise” by Mike Pinder of the Moody Blues
The next album by a member of the Moody Blues to come out was by the band’s keyboardist, Mike Pinder.  The album, entitled, “The Promise,” came out in 1976 and it features the keyboardist working with numerous musicians who all contributed to the overall sound of the record.
Although the CD did not chart higher than #133 on the Billboard Music Charts in 1976, it is still a damned fine CD and one everyone who loves the Moodies will find enjoyable because of the musical mastery of Mr. Pinder.
We hope that you will use the link we provide you here to take advantage of the offer by going to Amazon.com.  You can get the CD for about $30.00.

“Kick off your Muddy Boots” by the Graeme Edge Band (featuring the drummer of the Moody Blues, Graeme Edge)
The next CD we have for you is the first one by drummer, Graeme Edge, “Kick off your Muddy Boots” (1975) with Adrian Gurvitz (from UK band, The Gun) (guitars, vocals) aboard with him in a group called “The Graeme Edge Band.” Mr. Edge is an integral part of the Moodies and besides the drums also does backup vocals and vocals.
There are other musicians aboard on this solo effort including Cream drummer Ginger Baker.  The CD rocks from start to finish and features a wide range of musical styles, always with a Moodies feel somewhere within it.
Please take our link so you can go to Amazon.com and pick BOTH of these top-rated CDs there—you will be glad you did.

“Songwriter” by Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues
Today, we have two more CDs for you by members of the Moody Blues, the first one by Justin Hayward, “Songwriter,” (1977) and the second one by the Graeme Edge Band, “Paradise Ballroom.”
During the hiatus, the members of the Moody Blues were extremely industrious, cranking out album and songs one after the other.  This was his first official solo album, a great one that fans of the band love as well as fans of just the singer-songwriter-guitarist.

“Paradise Ballroom” by the Graeme Edge Band
The other CD we have for you is the first one by drummer, Graeme Edge, “Paradise Ballroom” (1977) with Adrian Gurvitz (from UK band, The Gun) (guitars, vocals) with him once again, and the formula works as well as it did on their first project.  Overall, everyone from this band is talented, no matter if they do it everything themselves or in connection with fellow musicians and/or band members.  We urge you to buy both of these CDs because we offer nothing but the best and we know you know that.  Check out Amazon.com where you can find both albums in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you.
Our military is the best in the world
I appreciate you allowing me to spend a slow weekend here at the blog because we must face the facts that politics will be somewhat slow as candidates take time off to catch up on some much needed rest and relaxation.
However, the jihadists most likely will be seeking to cause more havoc but I have to say our military forces impress the heck out of me.  They caught up with and ambushed the Number Two of ISIS, which I hope puts the fear of God into Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of this phony terror group.
Any person who can send human beings off to blow up other human beings is a piece of feculence, someone who should die gasping for air in a septic tank as we seal it shut for all eternity.  U.S. military, God bless all of you; you are the finest in the world.
Have a glorious Holy Saturday, friends, and I will meet you again tomorrow morning at 12:01 A.M. for Easter Sunday.  God bless all of you and God condemn the enemies of civilization.  Thank you.
Aloha!

MORE TO COME FROM THE ROLLING STONES

SATURDAY, MARCH 26, 2016
The sixth album by the original British ‘bad boys,’ the Rolling Stones, was their first ‘best of’ compilation: “Big Hits—High Tide and Green Grass” (1967).  Brian Jones is at the front of the pack on the cover photo but one can see the wear and tear the touring, recording, and the excessive drug and alcohol abuse was taking on him.  Regardless, this is a great album and it contains not only their biggest tunes to date, it also contained a song released as a single, “19th Nervous Breakdown,” which is a phenomenal tune in itself.  We urge you to seek this CD out at Amazon.com by using the link we have for you here so you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is perfect for you, your ears, and your pocketbook.
