We must demand of our Elected Leaders at ALL Levels to make sure that we DEFEND President Obama’s RIGHT to put another Nominee on the Supreme Court before leaving Office—we must replace Justice Scalia with a LIBERAL

BLOGPOST #1,911 AT THE AICP-END

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY 2016

VALENTINE’S DAY 2016 EDITION!

I’m sad we lost a Supreme Court justice yesterday but now, President Obama can cement his policies for decades to come
Honolulu, HI, 02-14-2016 Sunday: First, let me say this: Happy Valentine’s Day.  Now, we get to business.  Last night, the GOP held their debate but first, we must discuss the sad death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, definitely a loss for the nation but especially for the Republicans.  President Obama now will have the power in his final year to put another liberal on the high court and should Justice Ginsburg step down or God forbid, something happen to her, our president will have yet another opportunity to make sure that EVERYTHING he has done no one will ever be able to overturn.
God rest your soul, Justice Scalia, but now, the country will be able to move in the direction, that is most beneficial for it, one that is going to help all of the little people such as my family, my friends, and me.  You know, the one mistreated and manipulated by the rich, the avaricious, the greedy, and the disgusting, men such as Donald Trump and all the rest of the wealthy, rich, and oligarchs.  These people are the ones who have long had the opportunity to tear this nation out of the hands of the people who make it work.
I hope that the sad, tragic death of Justice Scalia is going to put the country onto the right path forever.
For a long time now, we have chafed beneath 5-4 Supreme Court decisions
For a long time now, we have had to suffer beneath the perpetual 5-4 votes that mark (or mar whichever way you view it) virtually every Supreme Court decision, either for or against, whatever it is the people of the country want and need.  With Scalia off the court, we will have THREE conservative justices (well maybe two if we rule out Chief Justice Roberts), Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.
On the left side of the political divide, we have Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan, Ruth Vader Ginsburg, and Sonia Sotomayor.  In the middle, we have Anthony Kennedy.  We now have the opportunity to put someone on the court who will better reflect the nation for who and what it is, liberals, the LGBT community, minorities, and even secular or atheists so we can make the changes commenced by Barack Obama permanent and ready for a ‘President Bernie Sanders.’
The six remaining Republican candidates are a real ‘wild bunch’
The debate last night between the six remaining candidates (not counting Governor Jim Gilmore, someone to whom they will not give the opportunity to appear among them, which is good because he is the BEST Republican).  On stage in South Carolina, we had the displeasure of watching Donald Trump (the foul-mouth), Jeb (the squishy one), John Kasich (a Democrat masquerading as a Republican), Ben Carson (positive but hopeless), Ted Cruz (a freak), and Marco Rubio (Rickie Ricardo in disguise) go at one another.  Believe me, they went at one another to the point that hubby, Lalo was laughing hilariously saying ‘how bad we were going to destroy them in November!’
Should President Obama have the ‘right’ to have a nominee for the Supreme Court approved?
The first questions had to do with the sad passing of Antonin Scalia and whether or not the candidates thought that ‘President Obama had the right to send up a nominee and if the Senate would pass him, her, (or it—maybe the president will send up a transsexual) before he leaves office.’
There was quite a bit of discussion on this topic, some said that ‘no president has sent up a Supreme Court nominee as a lame duck executive in the past 80 years so President Obama should wait.’  They said the court has functioned with eight members instead of the full nine and done fine doing it.  It sounds to me as if the Republicans want Barack Obama to WAIT and not fulfill his constitutional duties.  This simply does not sound correct to me, then again,
I am just a female Hawaiian chef who learned NOTHING at the University of Hawaii, so perhaps, I do not know of what I speak.  I also am from the president’s home state so I think my opinion matters as much as any of the Republicans and I say the president has the right to send up a nominee and get that person seated as quickly as possible.
Two groups onstage were going after one another: Jeb-Trump and Rubio-Cruz
The Republicans were on one another throughout the evening but it seemed to me that Jeb was gunning for Donald Trump and that Marco Rubio was gunning for Ted Cruz.  Then, in between the scrapping back and forth, they occasionally took shots at Kasich and at poor Dr. Carson.
However, the two of them stood their ground and did so with aplomb and dignity and I think that if Cruz, Rubio, and Jeb fall out of the running, we will be fine with a Trump-Carson or a Kasich-Carson presidency because the two men at the top of the ticket are liberals in disguise.
There were a few questions directed at Governor Kasich about his comments that he is ‘the Democrats’ favorite Republican.’  Hmmm, I did not know that BUT I like that.
It still shocks me how much the Republicans want to overturn President Obama’s many accomplishments
I am amazed at how all of them want to overturn everything the first black president has accomplished I think we all know that smacks a little bit of racism on their part.  We should give Dr. Carson credit for that because he did not leap into the debate of overturning the Affordable Care Act or stripping the DREAMERS of the rights he gave them.
It is clear there is a great deal of dislike coming from Cruz, Jeb, and especially Rubio want to overturn everything he has managed to do against ever-increasing pushback from the Republicans.  In my view, the president has done amazing things given the fact that much of the country does its best to spite him.  To me, this is outright despicable and it bodes ill for the future of the country.
Jeb really went after the Donald—YIKES!
I expect that the bickering between Trump and Jeb is going to harm both of them at the polls and in saying that, however, I also must say that it appears Jeb was able to fill the debate hall with nothing but his creatures.  Every time Jeb took shots at Trump or Trump at Jeb, the hall responded with whoops and hollers as the people reveled at the debate skills of the former Florida governor.  Trump had no one in the hall but his family and they remained mostly silent throughout the night, stewing at the things Jeb shot at their patriarch.  If I was they, I would be angry, too, so my hope is the Trump campaign will find a way to knock the governor out of the race.  He makes me sick.
Demand your representatives at all levels defend the president’s right to put another nominee on the Supreme Court before he leaves office
As I have said over the course of the week, Jeb, as the GOP nominee would be easy for either Hillary or Bernie Sanders to beat but as I have also said, either Trump or Kasich as president would be good for the Democrats because THEY are Democrats.  This election is going to be extremely exciting and I must say that more and more people are becoming interested in the ongoing debates because for the first time in memory, people have skin in the game.
We want someone who is going to extend the accomplishments of this president on for decades to come and it is up to us, the people, to demand that our representatives in the states and in the national government to defend them.
We also must make sure the Republicans do not deny President Obama the chance to put another justice on the Supreme Court of the United States before he leaves office.
What do you say?  See you next time, aloha, God bless, and Chef Itzi will be here tomorrow morning, bid her welcome.  Bye.
Thanks, my friends!

  1. Welcome to the Valentine’s Day edition of the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day. This is a day for everyone to celebrate with his or her loved ones. We need to enjoy this day because it is one few other places in the world celebrate and we know our jihadist enemies despise any holiday devoted to love. They know nothing of love, they know only of rape, murder, hatred, and other perversions and this is why we must stand strong against these horrible scumbags. Join us today to hear what Chef Cheryl has to say about the GOP debate from last night and also check out what she has to say about the battle that will begin tomorrow as to who will replace Antonin Scalia—it ain’t gonna be pretty, folks. / Posted by Chef Tiresias Helenus Grinikeodopuloposlus of the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, posted @ 12:18 A.M.
