WINTER SESSION 2015-16

BLOGPOST #1,904-A AT THE AICP-END

Our post for today features more Jefferson Airplane Albums
Oildale, CA, 02-07-2016 Sunday: I am going to share some of the albums of the week today; ones we have promoted in the past and that I think will interest you today.  We recently promoted some music by the Jefferson Airplane following the death of Paul Kantner not long ago and I would like to continue with some more of them if you permit me today.  Here we go:
Paul Kantner—“Blows against the Empire”
We continue offering CDs today by the greatest San Francisco bands of all time, the Jefferson Airplane!  The band’s ninth album, “Blows against the Empire,” hit record store shelves in 1970 and was actually the second solo album by rhythm guitarist and vocalist, Paul Kantner, his partner Grace Slick and a bunch of San Francisco friends.  This is a great album and one every fan of the Airplane needs to own so please—go to Amazon.com and pick up this monumental recording now!

Grace Slick and Paul Kantner—“Sunfighter”
We continue offering CDs today by the greatest San Francisco bands of all time, the Jefferson Airplane! The band’s ninth album, “Sunfighter,” hit record store shelves in 1971 and was actually the second solo album by rhythm guitarist and vocalist, Paul Kantner, his partner Grace Slick and a bunch of San Francisco friends.  This is a great album and one every fan of the Airplane needs to own so please—go to Amazon.com and pick up this monumental recording now!

The Jefferson Airplane—“Bark”
We continue offering CDs today by the greatest San Francisco bands of all time, the Jefferson Airplane! The band’s tenth album, “Bark,” hit record store shelves in 1971 and found the band going through a state of change!  Onboard were Grace Slick (keyboards, vocals), Paul Kantner (rhythm guitar, vocals), Jorma Kaukonen (lead guitar, vocals), and Jack Cassidy (bass).  Joining them were Papa John Creech (violins), Joey Covington (drums) and on keyboards, Nicky Hopkins!  The band was now more or less in the hands of Kantner and Slick and they drove it deeper into the realm of science fiction!  This is a great album and one all of you need to buy ASAP so use the above link to go to Amazon.com and buy it now!
The Jefferson Airplane—“Long John Silver”
We continue offering CDs today by the greatest San Francisco bands of all time, the Jefferson Airplane! The band’s eleventh album, “Long John Silver,” hit record store shelves in 1972 and found the band going through a state of change yet again!  Onboard were Grace Slick (keyboards, vocals), Paul Kantner (rhythm guitar, vocals), Jorma Kaukonen (lead guitar, vocals), and Jack Cassidy (bass).  Joining them were Papa John Creech (violins), John Barbata (drums)!  This would be the band’s final studio album until the reunion CD, which would come out a decade or so later!  This is a great album and one all of you need to buy ASAP so use the above link to go to Amazon.com and buy it now!

Jefferson Airplane—“Thirty Seconds over Winterland”
We continue offering CDs today by the greatest San Francisco bands of all time, the Jefferson Airplane! The band’s twelfth album, “Thirty Seconds over the Winterland,” hit record store shelves in 1974 and was a scaled-down version of the band’s final concert.  It features the final lineup of the band: (1) Grace Slick (Vocals); Paul Kantner (rhythm guitar and vocals); David Freiberg (vocals/keyboards); John Barbata (drums); Papa John Creech (violin); Jack Casady (bass); and Jorma Kaukonen (lead guitar/vocals). This CD is one of the best live CDs we have ever heard, one that you need to buy now!

Jefferson Airplane—“Early Flight”
We continue offering CDs today by the greatest San Francisco bands of all time, the Jefferson Airplane! The band’s thirteenth album, “Early Flight,” hit record store shelves in 1973 and featured “B” sides from singles and songs removed from albums. On this CD, you find the rare gems from the first couple of albums that did not make on them as well as classic tunes like “Mexico” and “Have you seen the Saucers?” We love this CD and highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the era’s music.
Join me at the other post for today
I  appreciate your allowing me to do this today because I have to put what I saw tonight at the Republican presidential debate in New Hampshire into words and then have to see how the lunatics on Saturday Night Live will put it into words.  Thank you for giving me this opportunity to continue sharing the music of the Jefferson Airplane and the Jefferson Starship.
Thank you,
Moses Scharbug III

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 07, 2016
In 2000, the Spencer Davis Group released another top-quality compilation, “Universal Masters,” a collection of remastered 18 crème de la crème tunes all in one place for the lifelong and brand-new fans of the band.  Despite what anyone might have to say about the modern crop of ‘music stars,’ the old groups paved the way, they blazed the trails, they sent the rockets to the moon playing three sets a night, seven days a week.  Nowadays, punks go online with a song and become ‘stars,’ which to us is a big load of crap.  Please, use our link to pick this amazing album up at the world’s greatest online marketplace, Amazon.com.  Once there, you can get it however you like it and imagine the surprise of your friends when you play them quality music instead of crap by Justin Bieber—they will applaud you as a rock-and-roll god.
