WINTER SESSION 2015-16

BLOGPOST #1,898 AT THE AICP-END

Finally—TODAY is the DAY! We begin the Second Season of the 2016 Political Campaign!
Oildale, CA, 02-01-2016 Monday: Today is the DAY, folks, not only is this the beginning of my final week until most likely AFTER the election, it is the FIRST DAY of the SECOND SEASON of the 2016 presidential campaign (and all the attendant campaigns and ballot measures that will accompany it).  The good people of Iowa, from Cedar Rapids to Des Moines, from Mt. Vernon to Davenport, and from every place in between the people are going to the caucuses today to begin the selection process.  Thank God, that is all I can say because NOW the weeding-out process of superfluous candidates can begin and we can get down to the nitty-gritty and dispense with debates full of hangers-on and wannabe candidates.
The People of Iowa will get the ball rolling today…
The Republicans will do their thing and the Democrats will do theirs.  People from one end of the state to the other will go down to the schools, to government buildings, and wherever else they go and will brave cold weather, snow, and whatever else it is they have to avoid/accommodate so the American election process can commence.  All or almost all of the candidates will be there seeking the final caucus call, hoping against hope that they will get a second chance or they will get another look.  Some will go down in a fiery mess while others will place the laurel leaf crowns atop their heads and immediately abandon the state to scurry up to New Hampshire for the next round.  Who will survive and who will toss in the towel, no one knows but we should come Tuesday morning.
I think Hillary Clinton is going to suffer a MAJOR Setback today
I think Hillary Clinton is going to suffer a setback in Iowa just as she did in 2008.  Only this time, an old wizened senator from Vermont is going to rally the troops and come out with smoke gushing from his ears.  Hillary will attempt to act as though all is good, that she can move on to New Hampshire and then to the Deep South where her ‘taken-for-granted-BLACK firewall’ will hopefully rally to her standard.  What I say sounds BAD, I know that; however, it is Hillary who takes BLACK Americans for granted, she expects them to rally to her battle cry but why would they?  What has this crooked politician ever done for BLACK Americans other than to seek their help at election time and then to forget about them until the NEXT election.
Senator Sanders and possibly Governor O’Malley will clean Hillary’s worn-out ‘clock’
Meanwhile, Senator Sanders and who knows—possibly Martin O’Malley is going to draw large numbers of votes for use in the next round of the campaigning.  If I were a Democrat—and once I was, long, long ago—I would say that Governor O’Malley would be an ideal candidate.  The man is young, full of vim and vigor and has some great ideas as to making the country a better place, Democrat-style.  Granted, I do not agree with his views and I would hate to see a Democrat win the White House but the way the party and its head, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has treated him is an absolute shame.  Someone should allow union workers to give her a beat-down, she is an absolute hag, what she has done to the former governor as well as to Senator Sanders is undemocratic, it has been a crime.
Will Donald Trump clean UP or will he clear out of the race?
On the Republican side, I am torn as to whether Donald Trump is going to clean up or that Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio will outdo him.  I even think that possibly JEB could make a better showing than expected, which if he does, then that tells you a MAJOR upset could be brewing—God, I hope not.  However, it would not surprise me, no one ever knows for sure WHO is going to bubble to the surface and who is going to drift to the bottom and drown in the muck.  What should be clear, however, is that after tomorrow, the number of failed candidates who will begin throwing in their towels and abandoning the race should commence and this is who I suspect will leave the race first:
Several Candidates will fall out of the race once the results come in
On the GOP side, I think Mike Huckabee is definitely going to be out after today.  He might crack a few Southern jokes, but the writing will be on the wall above his head as it will be for poor old Governor Jim Gilmore, a man I personally like and think would make a GREAT president.  I think unless the people of Iowa throw former Senator Rick Santorum a life preserver and he makes it into the top four, he will have to drop out of the race, too, a real shame.  I think the next one forced to leave the race will be one among the three: JEB, John Kasich, and Chris Christie.  If they divvy up the RINO votes, none will get enough although Jeb might surprise us as I mentioned.
I hope Carly Fiorina and Dr. Ben Carson can do ‘well’
Carly Fiorina and Dr. Ben Carson are two for whom I feel bad because I think they have amazing potential and would make great presidents as well as vice presidents.  Unfortunately, the TRUMP PHENOMENA has caused many fabulous candidates fall by the wayside because like a big mouth suckerfish, Trump gulps all of the oxygen out of the water leaving lesser fish to flounder in the muddy bottom, gills devoid of air.  However, sometimes the bigger fish commit suicide because they gobble up so much of the surrounding nutrients they suffer collapse and die, becoming easy targets for the lesser fish.  I hope the people of Iowa see the big phony for what he is—a nasty TV reality star, one I first supported and now want to see lying gutted on the beach.
I have my hopes as to who will rise to the surface and continue the fight…
I think we will have a good day today as I expect the people of Iowa to rise to the occasion and set us on the path to someone who will clean up the mess Number 44 has left the nation wallowing in, someone who will SAVE it and not through blasphemous exhortations.  Trump cannot do this and I think the voters in Iowa will see to his defeat in the race and that someone such as Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, or perhaps Rick Santorum will claw their way to the top and will continue the battle into New Hampshire and beyond such as on Super Tuesday.  Sadly, we here in California do not go to the polls until June, by which time everything else most likely will be in the record books.

  1. Moses celebrates what appears to be his final week until sometime post election by celebrating the good people of Iowa. The cornhuskers always go first and while they seldom pick the ultimate nominee, let us hope they begin the winnowing process so we can boot out the hangers-on, the clingers, and the wannabe past hopefuls. I would like to see someone who will uphold the Constitution in all its words, sentences, and individual words rather than someone who will rule by decree, such as the man we now have in the White House. Let me know what you think and we will debate the issues. Thank you. / Posted by Chef James “JT” Tobiason of the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, posted @ 11:19 A.M.
