WINTER SESSION 2015-16

BLOGPOST #1,889 AT THE AICP-END

As you know, I have wavered a bit on Donald Trump but that does not mean, I would fail to vote for the man if he wins the Nomination
Oildale, CA, 01-23-2016 Saturday: The past few days, I have said that I have begun wavering in my devotion to Donald Trump, that I can envision a Ted Cruz-Ben Carson ticket.  I have suffered a great deal of indigestion the longer I hear Donald Trump bashing Senator Cruz, I think he has gone off the deep end and has sunk to the bottom of the political pool.
Do not get me wrong, the message of Donald Trump is infectious but I need to see some meat attached to the bone and not see the carcass rotting in the sunlight.  Tell us HOW you intend to make America great again, other than that, you are going to build a wall and force Mexico to pay for it.
What’s more, tell us whom you will allow to enter via the big beautiful door in this magnificent wall, tell us whom you are going to deport and how you are going to do it.  I need to hear this because I am sick and tired of fools such as Bill O’Reilly saying, ‘You know you cannot deport 12 million people, Donald, the lawsuits and the sheer magnitude of the operation would never allow such a thing to happen.’
Tell us, Mr. Trump, how you would do this, I need to hear it.
I believe Senator Cruz will keep every promise
Senator Cruz, on the other hand, is someone whom I believe will keep every promise he makes to the American people.  Granted some are afraid of him or think he is phony and that everything he says he has no intention of doing.
Personally, I do not believe that is the truth, I mean, why would he have done the things he already has and for which, the mainstream GOP hates his guts.  I am not talking about the American people, I am speaking about his fellow GOP members in both the House and the Senate—most of them HATE Senator Cruz.
We all remember the vitriol dripping from the tongue of schmutzes such as Senator John McCain and we heard just the other day that some backbencher senator in North Carolina, Republican Richard Burr, swears he will vote for Bernie Sanders before he votes for Cruz.  WHAT is wrong with the party when it will not support its candidates—have we gone insane in this country?
All of this drives up my propensity to drink more alcohol each day
This is what drives your aged host to imbibe—you know, drink a lot, folks!—is that the Republican politicians, mostly say they will not support either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.  The two men lead the party ahead of all other candidates and all we hear is the constant drone of attacks as the members of Congress join in the assault on both, sometimes in concert with the Democrats.
How we have gotten to this point, where have things gone wrong, as an educator, I cannot recall a time in the history of our great nation when we have seen similar circumstances.
If you putzes in Congress feel, you are beholden to the people donating money to you and not your voters or the voters of the entire nation, then you schlongs feel you cannot support either one, they you need to leave the party or the voters need to toss you out when you come up for reelection.
I generally listen to Rush Limbaugh for knowledge
I generally listen to Rush Limbaugh here in Bakersfield, California, and he expresses the same sort of dismay that many of the rest of us suffer from, too, and the entire situation baffles him.  How have the donors achieved more power than the people who put the politicians into office and how long has this been going on?
I have been around for a long, long time and I cannot recall—until recently—a time such as the one in which, we now languish.  I think it most likely began during the presidency of Bill Clinton and led to the election of George W. Bush.  However, with the passage of Citizens United and the election of Barack Hussein Obama—a by-product of the Bush years—we have seen a clear division down the line into one camp containing the politicians and their donors and the voters in the other.  Yes, what I am saying is that OUR votes no longer matter.
The French Revolution occurred because the First and Second Estates failed to listen to the Third Estate—the PEOPLE of France
The French underwent something amazingly similar back in the late 1700s in that there were Three Estates—the monarchy, royalty, and aristocracy in one, the clergy of the Catholic Church in the next, and the people that made the nation run in the third.
The concept of the Three Estates was that the three components of the system could come together and hash out the important issues of the day; however, the First and Second Estates typically ganged up on the Third Estate and nothing any good ever transpired for the long-suffering people of France.
The monarchy and its attendant nobles along with the church always ruled in the favor of anything that benefitted them against the wishes of the people.  The nobility and the clergy controlled vast amounts of wealth and lived in splendor that only the merchant class could aspire to but never to attain while the actual people suffered horrible lives.
One can then understand why the revolution broke out and why it was as bloody and barbaric as it became, the people were angry that those above them continued abusing them and without their consent.  After seeing the miracle of the new United States, the same fire ignited the hearts and minds of the French people.
The French Revolution led to the demise of the power structure in France
The French Revolution led to the demise of the nobility as well as a decreased role for the clergy and the people of France took away all the trappings of wealth, the valuables, and whatever else their superiors had denied them.  Oxcarts full of the condemned nobles and other former leaders trundled down the road from the Bastille to the guillotine seven days a week while the people jeered their former abusers laughed and guffawed as the sharp blade sliced off their heads.
It was a brutal time and as with any revolution that is more about payback then about freedom, the shockwaves emanating out from France threatened the rest of the region, leading to Napoleon Bonaparte in the same way the Iranian Revolution of 1979 led to trouble across the Middle East, trouble with which, we still deal today.
Other similar revolutions such as the Iranian Revolution of 1979 or the Spanish Civil War dealt with matters of ‘class’ and ‘abuse’
We can draw comparisons between the October Revolution in Russia in 1917 when the Bolsheviks overthrew their royalty and the wealthy as well as the Spanish Civil war that raged in the late 1930s.
In each case, not only did nobles, the wealthy and military leaders pay for their supposed crimes but so did the people as the melees descended into blood feuds, class hatred, and various assaults upon minorities living within the borders.
Each of these particular events all have led to other problems, many of which either still infest the countries that underwent these barbaric upheavals in their history as well as their neighbors surrounding them.  Napoleon attempted to conquer the world as did the Soviet Union, the Nazis who came to power through similar civil unrest and the Iranians who hate the United States, Israel, and the West and who want to blow us/them off the face of the globe.
Each one of these societal upheavals and bloodbaths came about because of the vast disparity between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots.’
Donald Trump does have the Siren’s song…
In closing, I have to say, that Donald Trump more so than any of the rest of the Republican candidates has a wonderful message, albeit one light on the details but heavy on the magnetic personality of the BIG GUY.  I do not doubt that the man loves the United States but we also know that he is the one with his ear to the ground, hearing all of the anger infesting our once great nation, and as the leader of all that discontent and malcontent, he will lead us to places we might have thought we would never see.
Republicans, we have no choice; it is either Trump or Cruz because the rest of them will do the bidding of the donor class and that means the demise of America is in sight.  I will see you tomorrow, have a great day and keep the faith.  Thanks for joining me today.  In another week or two, I will step back into my role as publisher and Chef Cheryl will come in and take control of the Stinkbug chair.  Have a wonderful Saturday.
Thank you,

  1. Moses always calls things the way he sees them and today, he expresses disgust over how the GOP mainstream leadership and attendant media professionals all despise the two frontrunners of the party, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. Personally, I think I could vote for Trump because I see him as an everyman, you know, someone who will represent ALL of us and not just a chosen few as do most politicians. I also think that he will do what he says, that he will restore the nation to a much more economically profitable time, one in which, we can reclaim the mantle of GREATEST nation on Earth instead of a whipping boy and dumping ground for unwanted humanity. Our nation is a great nation but even current events force me to admit that the past seven years have not been good and that the one to come might be far worse. Please, let me know what you think, please join us today and share your comments.
