WINTER SESSION 2015-16

BLOGPOST #1,882 AT THE AICP-END

We begin discussing the Thursday Night Main Stage GOP Debate
Oildale, CA, 01-16-2016 Saturday: Today, we will discuss the GOP Main Stage Debate between the seven candidates who made the cut: (1) Donald Trump (2) Ted Cruz (3) Marco Rubio (4) Dr. Ben Carson (5) Chris Christie (6) Jeb Bush and (7) John Kasich.  I have to say that unlike some of the prior debates, each one of the candidates did a splendid job and there was no one among the seven candidates for whom I could not vote if I had no other choice, even Jeb Bush or John Kasich, two men of whom, I am not fond.  I would vote for every single one of them because—as several of the candidates said on both debate stages last night (or so I recall)—the next president could have as many as FOUR Supreme Court positions to fill.
Consider this: if someone such as Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders was the president and could fill them, the country would no longer resemble the one given us by the Founders, it would become a socialist hellhole at best and a communist, dictatorial one at worst.  Imagine if Barack Obama could be ‘president’ forever—we would become a banana republic practically overnight.
Reince Priebus said that ALL Candidates would support the Nominee
There you have it in the proverbial nutshell.  We are living in dire times and the next president has the ability to make or break the nation.  I have to say that I was pleased to hear RNC chairperson Reince Priebus praise all of the candidates saying that we had the best group of potential presidents either party has seen in a long, long time.  With South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Senator Lindsey Graham sitting in the audience, Priebus said the party would unite behind WHOEVER was the nominee.
What’s more, Priebus said it with authority and it is clear that someone took Governor Haley aside and informed her that she hurt the party in her rebuttal to Barack Obama’s final SOTU address when she said that we needed to ‘avoid the angriest voices’ out there among the GOP.  That criticism, my friends, was a clear shot at Donald J. Trump, perhaps Ted Cruz, and at the talk radio icons that keep the party bending to the conservative right rather than towards the mainstream RINO faction.
Most Americans among the Republican Party do not want RINOS but the RINOS believe that they do want them, which is a load of schmutz.   We do not want moderates as our candidates; no, what we want are conservative fighters who will do battle with the forces of liberalism and who will stop further erosion of our nation and our party.  Each time the RINO wing sticks us with a moderate, we lose as in 1992, 1996, 2008, and 2012—enough is enough.
Maria Bartiromo asked Senator Ted Cruz the FIRST Question:
The first question by Fox Business Network moderator, Maria Bartiromo concerned jobs in America, something about which, President Obama bragged up at his SOTU address on Tuesday evening.  Unfortunately, we learned on Friday morning—less than 24 hours after the debate concluded—that the economy is ‘so good,’ that Wal-Mart is closing 150 stores across the United States and more across the world in a combined total of 200-plus stores.  That is thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of people soon to be standing in the unemployment line.
Anyhow, Ted Cruz got the first question regarding jobs and after making a statement on the image of American sailors on their knees with hands clasped behind their heads and with Iranian Revolutionary Guards standing over them, he said ‘jobs are great if you make your money living in Washington, D.C.’  For everyone else, the jobs situation is a tragedy.  Seemingly, it is clear that Barack Obama lives in a fantasy world or a different dimension in which, up is down and right is left, and sanity is insanity.
Neil Cavuto asked Governor John Kasich the SECOND Question:
Neil Cavuto asked the second question of the evening of Ohio Governor John Kasich as to what he would do if the economy continues declining and what he might do if it was as bad as the one that Barack Hussein Obama inherited
Governor Kasich gave his stock recitation about all of the marvelous accomplishments that have taken place in his state since he became governor.  In prior debates, I sort of overlooked what the governor said because he has an ‘unattractive way’ of answering these questions as though he is the ‘only adult in the room’ and that his fellow candidates are little more than schlemiels, which simply is not the case.  That sort of schmutz bugs the hell out of me, your aged host.
However, what Governor Kasich pointed out was that targeted tax cuts, common sense, restructured state tax codes (and if elected, FEDERAL tax codes), and balanced budgets have brought the Buckeye State back from the mess he inherited when he ran for governor five years ago.
The THIRD Question came from Bartiromo to Governor Chris Christie:
Maria Bartiromo directed the third question of the night to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, ‘when would you as president use force in the world?’  Right off the bat with the first swing, he directed his ire in the direction of Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama and Mr. Obama’s SOTU address on Tuesday night.
Christie was incensed over the images of American sailors kneeling on the deck of their craft with the Iranians standing over them, weapons pointed at their backs.  He said as president that he would meet with our allies and reassure them of our intent to defend them and to help them against jihad as well as let our enemies know—i.e., Iran—just how far they can go before they get slapped upside their heads and put back in their place.
What we could not permit would be Hillary Clinton to be the THIRD term of a disastrous president and that he would fight to stop her.  The crowd roared its approval as applause broke out across the room.  The governor’s stance made clear to me that the chubby Christie from the Garden State, relishes having the opportunity to scrap with anyone who gets in HIS way.
Governor Christie’s eyes are on Hillary Clinton and it became clear to me that he intends to be the one debating the future of the nation with the aged crone—I would love to have ringside seats to that ‘rumble in the jungle.’
Neil Cavuto asked the FOURTH Question of the Night of Governor Jeb Bush
Neil Cavuto then addressed the fourth question of the evening, this one going to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush: ‘are we better off today than we were when Barack Obama first stepped into the Oval Office?’  Jeb jumped right in and for the first time in the previous five debates, actually sounded presidential in his answer.
The idea that America is ‘better’ than what it was in early 2009 appalled him and in his view, we would have to stop and reassess the entire landscape of not only the country but the world, as well.  He would rebuild the U.S. military and renew our ties with our allies as well as keep our enemies in check.
It is apparent to me that his fear is that ‘Hillary Clinton would be a national security mess’ should she find some sort of way to catapult herself into the White House—let us hope that she will not be able to do it.
Neil Cavuto continued and asked the FIFTH Question of the Night of Florida first-time Senator Marco Rubio
Neil Cavuto continued with the next question, this query going to Senator Marco Rubio: ‘how does he define the ISIS threat?’  Senator Rubio is a gifted speaker and in his answer, he launched an all-out attack on the female Democrat candidate and presumed nominee of her party as how disastrous it would be if Mrs. Clinton entered the White House.
According to Rubio, the former first lady and former New York senator is unqualified to hold the job of president, as she cannot handle classified information properly.  If she were in the White House, our military would continue its long, painful descent into oblivion thanks to the damage Barack Obama has caused it already.
No, the nation needs him to be president so he can repair the damage and bring respect back to the American people and he is so determined it is going to be him that he has waved off running for reelection in his state—could be a big mistake.
Maria Bartiromo asked the SIXTH Question of the Night of Dr. Ben Carson
Maria Bartiromo asked the sixth question of the night, this one going to Dr. Ben Carson who acted surprised that he ‘got a question as early as he did.’ He thought that someone would have to ‘wake him up’ at some point later in the fray.
The question from Bartiromo was how a ‘President Ben Carson would handle the ISIS ‘threat.’  The doctor noted that war in the 21st Century is unlike that of the previous century in that we have more to fear from an EMP strike in the atmosphere above the United States that would fry our electrical grid and make it impossible for us to mount a response.
Worse, the attackers could launch cyberattacks simultaneously while setting off dirty bombs throughout the nation.  We need to rebuild the U.S. military, modernize it, and give it the tools with which it needs to meet this dire threat.  The crowd applauded and praised the doctor, whose poll numbers had recently put him in fourth place.  Sadly, the day following the debate, there were more staff shakeups in his campaign staff.
The Seventh Question of the Night came from Neil Cavuto and went to Business Mogul Donald Trump
Neil Cavuto directed the seventh question of the evening to Donald Trump by prefacing it with the story of the Muslim refugee Barack Obama placed in the gallery during his SOTU.
According to President Obama, the poor man, a doctor, lost family in Syria and was able to make it to sanctuary in the United States.  ‘Would you, Donald J. Trump deny this poor man and others such as him—the so-called ‘Syrian refugees’—the right to come here or to remain here in the United States and away from what we see happening in their country?’ It was clear that the moderators thought this could be the kill shot but Trump waded right into the query and did so with authority.
The number one GOP candidate pointed out that our fears ‘are not groundless but a ‘reality,’ look at what has happened in Indonesia with the recent bombings, the shootings in San Bernardino and in Paris.’  Furthermore, he said ‘that the doctor does not represent the majority of the Muslim ‘refugees’ seeking entry into the United States and into Europe but sees them as a ‘Trojan horse and a bona fide danger.
‘Where are the women, the children, the old folks, we mostly see young, military-aged males,’ no, it is clear that Mr. Trump does not plan to step back from his much-attacked positions and God bless him for not doing so.  Based on what we have already seen—especially with ‘North African and Arabic men’ raping European women in Germany, Finland, Denmark, Norway and other locales, inviting this trash in poses danger to the law-abiding citizens of these countries.  Bless YOU, Donald Trump!
The EIGHTH Question came from Maria Bartiromo to Senator Ted Cruz
Maria Bartiromo directed the eighth question of the night in the direction of Ted Cruz, asking him about the questionable loan that he took from Goldman-Sachs and which he did not list on his financials prior to entering the presidential race.
Cruz fended it off by explaining that when he ran for senate in Texas, he ran against someone who had beaucoup bucks so he and his wife, Heidi decided they would ‘invest in his senate campaign and in his presidential bid.’  What is more, he did list the loan on one financial statement but failed to do so on another—shame on him, it was an unintended mistake.  From here, the Fox Business Network took its first commercial break of the evening where we will leave off for the day.
Thursday Night’s Debate was a GREAT One…
The debate we watched on Thursday night and in fact, BOTH debates were very good despite what liberal punks have to say about it online.  There are people out there who cannot handle the fact that for the first time in recent history, BOTH parties have debate formats in which, the moderators are more intent on doing things ‘right’ rather than giving the Democrats a pass while skewering the Republicans in their attempt to get GOTCHA questions into sound bites.
The first two GOP debates, the first hosted by Fox News Channel with Megyn Kelly as one of the moderators did her best to go after Donald Trump but after that experience and then the next one on CNN as I recall, Reince Priebus finally stood up and said ENOUGH.
From that point forward, the debates have rolled onward in ways that give the candidates honest opportunities to answer questions directed at them and to mix it up amongst themselves.  I am looking forward to tomorrow night’s Democrat debate, I think Bernie Sanders is going to clobber Hillary Clinton and I hope they allow Martin O’Malley to participate as if they do not they are robbing the Democrats of a seemingly good candidate.
Anyhow, we will pick up tomorrow where we left off today—I will see you then and thank you for helping make our numbers go back up where they should be.  Bye.
Thank you,

Jim Capaldi released his next album in 1981, “Let the Thunder Cry,” a great album that an expanded form released by Esoteric Records contained even more stunning music.  Having spent time in Brazil, there is a distinct ‘Brazilian flavor’ to the music as well as some pop and remnants of Disco contained within the numerous tunes.  Jim is a great musician and always enlists top-notch musicians to join him in making great music.  The lineup here is similar to his previous two recordings but former Beatle George Harrison makes an appearance here, too, which is great.  We urge you to take our link to go to Amazon.com where you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you, your ears, and your checking account—Valentine’s Day is not too far away, folks!

  1. Our post for today has the opening questions of the GOP main stage debate from last Thursday night. Moses discusses it today, question-by-question and will do so tomorrow as well as on Monday. On Tuesday, he will launch into the Democrat debate and plans to spend about two days doing that. Despite what leftist critics snivel, whine and cry about—that the moderators hand the candidates soft ball questions (as they do for Democrat candidates), the debate was a good one and it gave the seven candidates ample time to discuss the issues and to go after one another. Please, join us today and give us your impressions as to what you thought about the debate as well as whom you think did the best. Thank you. / Posted by Chef V.
