FALL SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,853 AT THE AICP-END

We pick up today where we left off on Wednesday
Oildale, CA, 12-18-2015 Friday: As you know, yesterday we took time off from the GOP debate in Las Vegas on Tuesday night because I had to set the record straight regarding a bone-headed, disingenuous comment made by music teacher, Jason Gomez.  It was interesting to note in the opening debate how Senator Lindsey Graham continued to twist the words Donald Trump uttered on the topic of Muslims entering the country.  The South Carolina lawmaker continued to take him at his word, saying that ‘banning ALL Muslims from entering the United States was offensive to our Muslim allies in the Middle East and elsewhere.  Last time I heard, I heard that Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt were screening potential ‘refugees’ while not throwing their gates open wide and permitting potential terrorists into THEIR countries.  Therefore, why then is Donald Trump the bum?
Should we use ‘electronic surveillance of the American people to defeat terrorism?’
The next question the moderators chose to ask the four candidates was their view on whether or not we should use or not use electronic eavesdropping and compiling phone records and of course, Senator Graham is all for it.  The problem is, since the government began using its ability to surveil potential terrorists, they can point to no major successes in stopping terrorist attacks.  They point out that the NSA collection of data had ended prior to the attack in San Bernardino by the husband and wife team of radicalized shooters--one of whom was an American citizen and one who entered the nation on a fiancée visa—so they could not stop it. Yet, news came out from their neighbor that he and the shooter planned an earlier attack in 2012 and no one knew a damned thing about that one, which is why they fall silent on the topic.
Leave it to Senator Santorum to bring up the fact that Islam is not compatible with a First World Nation’s Foundation
Rick Santorum had the balls to bring up the fact that Islam is not friendly with the values of Christianity and Judaism, which the Western World uses as its foundation.  Our president, the questionable Barack Hussein Obama, seeks to change this nation, to transform it from the aforementioned Judeo-Christian background to one of being a mongrel, non-Christian, non-Jewish nation.  He promised to change our nation in fundamental ways and by Allah--he is on the road to doing it.  He wants to erase the things that made this nation great and wants to insert all sorts of Third World trash into the fundamental building blocks of our nation so one day, he can rub his hands in glee how he was able to destroy the United States of America.
Senator Graham wants to send ground troops into Syria and Iraq
Regarding ISIS, Senator Graham said he wanted to go after the terrorist ‘state’ by attacking them on all battlefields and at all levels.  A big proponent, he wants to send troops to work in conjunction with Arab Sunni states to clean out the scumbags lurking in Raqqa and other Syrian and Iraqi towns.  Senator Santorum answered a question about not wanting to enter Syria at the present but supports sending ground troops back into Iraq because at the time Barack Obama inherited it, he received a stable nation more or less at peace.  Sure, there were terrorist attacks but the insurgency languished in a state of containment.  Conversely, Barack Obama’s desire to get the hell out of there left the entire country and region in a big steaming mess of feculence.  Lindsey Graham can protest all he wants about bringing in ‘Arab allies’ to do the fighting but wants Americans on the ground in the front lines whereas Santorum does not.
If Governor Huckabee wins the nomination and then the White House, might the draft return?
Governor Huckabee suggested that we should NOT tell the enemy how far we intend to go in fighting ISIS and that we should do whatever it takes to crush this horrible enemy.  He also blasted the Obama administration for cutting the military to its lowest point since the end of the Vietnam conflict.  Everyone on the opening debate stage wants to see the U.S. military restored to its former glory because the only way we can beat the enemies of this nation is to resemble—in my words, a porcupine—because most antagonists lack the desire to have themselves torn apart.  This is the one irrefutable fact few liberals understand or care about because it is unpleasant to them.  However, what they will or should take note is that Mike Huckabee thinks it would be good if we recruited the younger generations so they could step up, serve, and defeat the enemies threatening their freedoms instead of sitting on their asses while living in mom and dad’s basement off their largesse.
Senator Graham was right that pulling out too soon is worse than never going in at all
One thing Senator Graham made clear is the fact that committing U.S. ground troops to a battlefield but then leaving when the conflict (apparently) is over makes little to no sense.  This is failure of the Obama administration, as soon as he entered the White House, he proclaimed that we would we pull out of Iraq as quickly as possible as well as alluded to the same thing happening in Afghanistan.  What he did to the people of Iraq was horrendous and that is what the senator said, ‘if we had left Germany and Japan, what might have happened there’ following the conclusion of World War II?’  The people of Iraq had been living in nearly half-a-century of dictatorship—a brutal one for sure—and anyone who thinks they could snap to and come out of it in a matter of a few years is crazy.  The only way to have make Iraq a stable place would have been if we had kept troops there so it could have a chance to grow into a stable democracy as George W. Bush thought it would.
Should we allow Vladimir Putin to wage war against ISIS?
Another question that arose was whether the early candidates would support or not support Vladimir Putin taking the lead in the fight against ISIS and whether they would or not would seek to neutralize the rule of Bashar al-Assad.  There is no clear answer on this topic because if the Russians want to expend lives then we should allow them to do so and besides, we know the Russians will not force the same sorts of restrictions we force on U.S. and ‘Coalition’ forces that we do.  That is good because it would be great to see Vladimir Putin do to ISIS what his people did to the Chechens during the second war there as well as for us not to punish our troops for doing what they must do on the ground and in the air.
Should we reinstate the draft?
After watching the early debate on Tuesday night, one can conclude that Senator Graham truly wants to get out of the early round and into the later one although WHY he is in the race at all remains for us to debate.  Some see him as some sort of spoiler with which, to destabilize Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and perhaps to neutralize Donald Trump.  When asked as to whether he would reinstate the draft, the diminutive lawmaker said that ‘if one did not want to serve then he would not ask them to serve.’  Likewise, Governor Huckabee did not want to see a reinstatement of the draft.  I have to say that during the last presidential administration, some Democrats such as Charlie Rangel wanted to see the draft reinstated because he felt it would damage the GOP.  In a war such as what we now find ourselves fighting, we need all hands on deck.  We will continue the debate tomorrow.

Thank you!

FLAG OF THE DAY: CROATIA

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2015
The next album by the British group, Traffic, “Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory” (1972) featured a different lineup with main members, Steve Winwood, Chris Wood, Jim Capaldi, and Rebop Kwaku Baah augmented by two members of the Muscle Shoals Sound Music Section, David Hood (bass) and Roger Hawkins (drums). Some critics panned this album, saying its predecessor was far better even though some of the critics criticized that one, too.  Back in the day, the music press, such as the iconic, Rolling Stone Magazine, were horribly harsh on almost every performer so we blow them off and note as a magazine, they have fallen into the crapper.  Please use our link to redirect your browser to Amazon.com where you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you.  Christmas and Kwanzaa are almost here so if YOU are an Amazon Prime member then you need to act now before it is too late.
