“Political Topics and Essays, Part DXCIII: Gervais discusses how Hispanics working in his restaurant admire Donald Trump and concur with what he says about Illegal Immigration—WOW!” by Chef Gervais Krinkelmeier

After concluding the Who yesterday, we are going to begin presenting the music of the great British band, Traffic as well as its subcomponents—Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, and Dave Mason—but to do this, we first must begin with the group in which, Steve Winwood got his chops, the Spencer Davis Group.  This English band formed in the early 1960s around guitarist, Spencer Davis, Steve Winwood (organ, guitars, and vocals) and his brother Muff (bass) as well as Pete York on the drums.  This is their debut CD entitled, “Their First LP,” hit record store shelves in 1965 and consisted of numerous American blues and soul covers, which put the band on the rock-and-roll map.  Granted, this is a pricey CD coming in at $134.00 brand-new and around $35.00 used by using our link to redirect your browser to Amazon.com—the greatest online marketplace in the world.  The current version contains some bonus tracks, which is why you should seek it out, as it is a blast from the past.

FALL SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,835 AT THE AICP-END

I am back for my second stint of the year
Bakersfield, CA, 11-30-2015 Monday: Hello and welcome to the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, the place where we do our best to hash out the issues of the day as we do every single workday in professional kitchens from one end of the country to the other and around the world.  As those of you who labor every day in professional food service know, line cooks, pantry chefs, and prepmasters typically discuss politics all day long.  It is true we discuss other things such as the ass on a new foodserver but politics takes up much of our time as we work our eight-hour-plus hours per day as it makes the time pass much faster than if we worked in silence.  What’s more, it also allows us to share ideas and to influence one another so that as voters (or up-and-coming new and future voters), which in the end makes better citizens of all of us.
We discuss politics all day long in the professional kitchen, it is what we do, folks!
Sure, some chefs would love it if we said nothing but typically, we engage in extensive conversation both within the house and with the outside world in the form of vendors, salespeople, and others who do work for us, as it is an amazing way to pass information back and forth among various businesses and their employees.  The grapevine of the foodservice world is essential for us to do our jobs as well as we do.  This is how we learn what happens at other restaurants including the competition and how we find out who lost his or her job, why they lost it, and what openings there might be in case we terminate one of our worker’s employments, or wish to pick up some part-time hours for ourselves.  Granted, thanks to the ravages of Obamacare on payrolls, there is little to no additional work line cooks can obtain because no one wants to go through the hassle of hiring someone new as they either have to give them healthcare or keep them at or below 19 hours per week—thanks, Obama.
Unbelievably, many Latinos admire and like Donald Trump
The one thing I hear most of the cooks saying—including the Latinos who staff many kitchens around the nation—is that Donald Trump stands to get their votes as do professional politicians such as Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.  Most of them do not cringe at what Trump says about the border and who comes across it because most of them acknowledge that what he says is TRUE.  It is true that much of what crosses our southern border is from the criminal element, intent on smuggling drugs across said border in any way feasible and doable while others such as the rapists Mr. Trump said come across it DO come across it.  Mexico does not send their “BEST,” they typically send their absolute worse, i.e., the dregs of Mexican society, even though most restaurant workers are the crème de la crème of Mexican society.
Many of the Mexicans coming here are the dregs of Mexican society
The ones who cause the United States problems, however, are typically those who do hide deep within the shadow economy where they loiter outside Lowe’s and other hardware chains or who work in the fields.  Many of the lower end workers typically drive intoxicated, sell drugs as a sideline, or help human traffickers by either patronizing their merchandise or by helping them stash or to move the unfortunate girls and boys forced into sexual slavery from one safe house to another or bring them to motels where 30-40 farmworkers will bang 3-4 underage girls.  I do believe that it is high time for someone such as Donald Trump to begin rolling back the gains made by the illegal aliens.  The illegals continue to defy our naturalization and immigration laws, which, we as a nation need to enforce if we are going to maintain our national identity and to prohibit criminals and refuse from entering it and trashing it.
I will tell you WHY the Hispanics like what they hear from Donald Trump—straight from the mouth of the proverbial horse
You ask me, “WHY would Hispanic workers support someone such as Donald Trump when he seems to be an anathema to their wants, desires, and needs.”  Well, I hate to say this but many of the Hispanics working in U.S. restaurants would love to come here in a legal way so they could move freely back and forth across the border without having to worry that if they leave, they could find themselves in an immigration lockup.  Many of them wish to become citizens and I support them in doing this, as that is what a good Libertarian such as me would do.  Help people attain the style and manner of life that we have so we can make the world a much better place.  It takes ALL kinds, folks, and that is what I, your host, am about, helping the less fortunate find a better life while improving my business and making my bottom line black.
We need an immigration system that works as well as one that protects the nation
I know that many of the Hispanics working in the kitchen find Senator Ted Cruz exciting even though the man is a Cuban and where we live and work, we have far more Mexicans here than we do Cubans but it is what it is, people.  They find Senator Cruz to be refreshing unlike what they think about Governor Jeb Bush, someone they see as a condescending schmuck who seeks to USE them instead of treating them with respect.  I do not know what it is about the Bush Family but since the time of George W. Bush, their attitude that Jeb deserves the nomination and that seeking to attain the nomination for him sans winning the base upsets the hell out of me and many other culinary professionals.  Like many others who write at the blog, there is no way I could EVER vote for Jeb Bush.  Jeb, get the hell out of the race, go home to Florida, and shut the hell up.
On the other hand, Latinos see Jeb as a condescending putz

PLEASE BUY ALL OF THE ALBUMS WE ADVERTISE AT AMAZON.COM!
PLEASE SEE MUSICAL ALBUMS AT THE END OF THE BLOG
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END
Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.
We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!
Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $2.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $30 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms.
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
ISIS is a major threat; yet, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton cannot combine the words, “Islam” and “jihad” together
I think we are off to an exciting political year, one that seems to tilt in the favor of the GOP but we cannot count the Democrats out yet.  The thing that drives my mind into frenzy is how the Dems including President Obama and his administration are so dismissive of the threat we face from ISIS and associated jihadist groups.  What is wrong with these flipping people, that they can separate the words “Islamic” and “Jihad” from one another in their speech, is something that blows my mind.  I realize that the Democrats love using straw man arguments by attacking their opponents for wanting to denigrate a ‘great religion,’ one that seems not to give a damn about politicking itself.  When I see them whacking the jihadists, I will give them credit but for now, I see them as a terrible danger.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday last week as we sure did
The rest of this week—the week following the Thanksgiving holiday—we will do political cartoons and other light stuff.  There is not much point in hashing out politics week-after-week when we are entering the ‘phony war’ time of the 2016 election, one in which, politicians will attempt to keep things under control until the end of December.  Next year is going to be a WILD time and I hope I am here throughout it; I enjoy commenting on the posts of my colleagues just as I do sitting down at the computer and tapping out a week’s worth of commentaries.  Have a great day, join us on Facebook today and I will meet with you again tomorrow at 12:01 A.M. PST—thank you.
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by the Spencer Davis Group, the Who, Pete Townsend, THE JEFFERSON STARSHIP, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.
As everyone knows, we love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thanks, my friends!

  1. I have to admit that being in on the starting day of presenting music by the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, Blind Faith, and the members of Traffic—Dave Mason, Steve Winwood, Chris Wood, and Jim Capaldi—are exciting. Most of the time, we join the blog with the music of whatever group we promote for however long it takes to do it and seldom on opening day. I remember hearing the Spencer Davis Group blasting out of 1960s’ era radio stations with “Gimmie Some Lovin’,” one of the most iconic rock-and-roll songs of ALL time. Thanks for joining me today, we welcome everyone and want to hear YOUR opinions. Thank you. / Posted by Chef Charles Smithenstein of the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, posted @ 10:09 A.M. PDT
