FALL SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,805 AT THE AICP-END

I love Halloween but something dreadful has changed it forever…
Bakersfield, CA, 10-31-2015 Saturday: Today is Halloween, one of the best days of the year as not only is it a family event, it has also become a great adult event, too.  At one time, Halloween would have been a slow night in the restaurant and bar business because most people would go home and spend time with their spouses and their kids, doing trick-or-treating or giving out treats to young folks who came to their doors.  Nowadays, however, with the change we see sweeping America, Halloween is not that safe a holiday to celebrate anymore and I find that to be horribly sad.
God bless the little kids when they come to the door and shout, “Trick-or-Treat!”
It seems that every year now, the young kids and their parents come to the house generally, before it becomes very dark.  These are the kids that my wife and I love to see outside our door—the young kids—anywhere from 3-to-8 years old, they still believe in the fun of the celebration and enjoy its somewhat darker aspects, too.  They love to dress up, become monsters, superheroes, mystical and fairy tale figures, they love to dress up and to wear the mask, then go up to the door, ring the bell and shout “TRICK OR TREAT” at the tops of their little voices.  My wife and I have never gotten tired of giving out the treats, all sorts of wonderful store-bought candies because the days of giving out homemade treats is long gone thanks to some sick sons-of-bitches in various parts of the country spoiling it.
We have always loved this particular holiday, it truly is special…
Once the young kids have come, gotten their treats and gone, a different crowd begins to come and this group is one of the reasons WHY we have shut things down earlier than usual.  At first, we would get unruly teenagers, most not wearing costumes, just with masks or not even masks and you could see them eyeing everything they could see within the scope of peering in through the front door.  Some ask us if they can come in and ‘use the bathroom’ to which, we have always been emphatic in our answer.  “NO” we tell them and they appear angry or irritated but it is what it is.  We had a woman who claimed to be pregnant and she begged for the bathroom but one would be crazy to let ANY of them into one’s home.
We have had all sorts of AGGRESSIVE Trick-or-Treat Folks in Recent Years…
After this event, we put a folding screen within the area of the entryway so that no one coming to the door could see beyond the divider that we put there to block his or her roving eyes.  Our family would be home and the so-called ‘trick-or-treaters’ would hear other people in the house but even this did not stop some of the more aggressive ones.  It got to the point that we decided that we would either have to put a shotgun behind the screen or to shut off the holiday early, which is what we ended up doing, shutting it off no later than 7:30 P.M., and dousing the lights.  Why take the chance of having someone power their way past us and cause a ruckus, I mean, I have no problem blowing someone apart with my Benelli shotgun but who wants to have to deal with the problems posed by that?—certainly NOT my wife or me.
It got to the Point that I had to keep my shotgun behind the screen blocking the view of the inside of the house…
Even shutting it down did not leave us immune to outside problems.  Some of the more aggressive kids—‘kids’ I put down as being gangbanging thugs, punks who ruin the holiday for the little kids—would take a dump in the drive way or atop one of the cars.  One time, they slashed our tires when we did not permit them to enter the house to use the restroom.  One time, the little shits broke into our car and stole whatever they could find of value in it so we began removing our automobile registrations from the cars on this particular night.  No point in giving all of these illegal alien punk thugs enough information with which, to make our lives miserable or to learn our names so they could do something to us at some point later, one has to be careful in today’s world.
One cannot take one’s safety or that of their family for granted nowadays…
As far as the restaurant business goes, we normally make a party of it and bring in the adult crowds.  We offer specialized hors d’ oeuvres and appetizers, as well as drinks we create just for this occasion.  Grownups love to come out and celebrate the holiday and we are here to serve them, knowing that we can give them and their kids a fine meal earlier in the afternoon then have mom and pop come back or for singles to come and seek out one another in a place that caters to them.  It is sad how life has become but this is the life that we have to live, and one that we must adapt and adjust to it.  I just wish that it would return to the way that it once was, you know, back in the 1950s, early 1960s, before everything went so damned crazy, those were nice times.
I so wish it were 40 years or so ago than the time in which, we now find ourselves living…

PLEASE BUY ALL OF THE ALBUMS WE ADVERTISE AT AMAZON.COM!
PLEASE SEE MUSICAL ALBUMS AT THE END OF THE BLOG
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END
Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.
We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!
Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms.
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
Congratulations to Brian and Linda Carrick for their Wedding Anniversary, what a great Anniversary Date!
I thank you for giving me the room to share some holiday thoughts and ideas with you, we live in a world in which, one never knows what to expect day-to-day anymore.  I love Halloween, it is one of the best holidays of the year and I have to say, I am envious that my friend and fellow chef, Brian Carrick, married his lovely wife, Linda, on this day back in 2011.  What an anniversary day is this, folks, on Halloween?  One has to be wild to think of something such as that but as he tells me, “Charles, I never forget my anniversary now.”  Well, God bless him, I wouldn’t forget it either, sorry, babe.  Have a safe holiday, folks, I will see you all tomorrow for my last day of the year.  Bye.
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by the Who, John Entwistle, Keith Moon, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Jefferson Airplane, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.
As everyone knows, we love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thank you!
