FALL SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,770 AT THE AICP-END

Political Cartoons are on Tap for Today!
Bakersfield, CA, 09-26-2015 Saturday: This is my second session this year so this weekend, I am going to do less and share some more political cartoons with you.  However, I need to point out a couple of things.  For some unknown reason, something has been blocking the access of our blog to our readership and to the world at large.  The same entities have fought hard to make our Facebook page as slow as molasses so we are not sure what to think about that.  We know we have insulted, chided, or derided everything from Communist China to the American politician so one never ever knows whom one might offend or rub the wrong way.  We hope our ability to connect with our readers opens up once again.  Let us do some cartoons, shall we?

Political Cartoon #PC0018.1s #481
Remember how over a year ago, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie took a whooping over the Bridgegate affair?  Well, at the time we on the left—and many on the right, too!—thought the man was a goner but so far, it does not seem to have stopped him.  On the GOP debate last week on CNN, he sure appeared to me to be one of the big winners so only time will tell.
Political Cartoon #PC0018.1t #482
The next cartoon comes from Thursday, February 20, 2014 and shows the fear we consumers had when the Comcast merger took place last year.  Consumers are always fearful when the government allows companies to become more and more powerful because it never bodes well for We, the People.  So far, things seem to be okay but only the passage of time will tell for sure.

Political Cartoon #PC0018.1u #483
Our next political cartoon comes from the Tuesday, February 18, 2014 edition of the Bakersfield Californian and look how interesting this one is, folks!  Here, we see consumers in a grocery store questioning as to WHY the goods are all gone and one tells the other that it is due to people thinking Joe Biden is going to run for president!  That was approximately 18 months ago, everyone was afraid of Biden seeking the nomination the following year and then in 2016 so why are people not afraid now?  I have no idea but I will say this: I think Joe Biden would make a fine president.

Political Cartoon #PC0018.1v #484
The next cartoon comes from the Monday, February 17, 2014 edition of the Bakersfield Californian newspaper and it shows a wealthy individual kicking a member of Congress off his jet demanding that he slash welfare so as to give him and his wealthy cronies more money.  You know, sometimes I buy this crap and sometimes I don’t, what I am doubtful of is how slashing welfare expense can put more money into the pockets of the rich.  We all want to be successful, everyone I know does, I don’t begrudge them their money, I would love to have some of it myself but alas, I do not.

Political Cartoon #PC0018. 1w #485
Our final cartoon of the day depicts the sad state of the western United States, the land of drought.  Our weatherman who is a snowman asks if anyone has ever wanted to see what a skeleton belonging to one of his kind would look like—all they have to do is to look westward and there is your answer.
We need help to fix the California Drought

PLEASE BUY ALL OF THE ALBUMS WE ADVERTISE AT AMAZON.COM!
PLEASE SEE MUSICAL ALBUMS AT THE END OF THE BLOG
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END
Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.
We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms.
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s selection of cartoons as well as our abbreviated session; none of us is sure as to WHO or WHAT seeks to block our blog on the Internet.  We do not know if it is Google seeking to minimize our content or if it is some other as heretofore-unknown threat.  Whatever it is, we will continue publication until some entity shuts us down for good; it is what it is, folks.  Please, join us today, let your friends know what takes place here and be sure to become a follower.  Thank you and God bless every single one of you!
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by the Who, John Entwhistle, Keith Moon, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, TEN YEARS AFTER, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.
As everyone knows, we love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thanks, my friends!

This is I, your once-gorgeous hostess, back in the 1980’s when I was working at a restaurant in Wasco, CA, my hometown.  I joined the Chefs de Cuisine of Greater Bakersfield, ACF, not long after it was chartered and am still a member even though the chapter is no longer in operation.  I began working in foodservice in the late 1960’s, moved from Wasco, CA, to Monterey, CA, and then returned to my hometown in 2004.  I have been a foodserver, a Mixologist, and am a Certified Cook.  I am equally at home in both the kitchen and behind the bar (and on the floor, too).  My passions are numerous and my favorite is working in the bakery whenever I have had a chance.
Bea O’Malley writes from her hometown of Wasco, California.

  1. Chef Bea spends her time posting political cartoons, which is always fun. We enjoy poking fun at various things and the medium of political cartoons allows us to do it. Many times, profound truths appear, which readers can absorb, truths that might not be evident elsewhere within the media. Anyhow, please join us today and then note that tomorrow, we are going to post the photos from the recent Eagles concert here in Bakersfield as well as every single Eagles album the band has ever recorded. You should not miss this post, especially if you are a fan of this long-time American band. Thank you for joining us today, we welcome everyone every day of the week but especially for the weekend edition of the blog. / Posted by Chef James “Jimmy” Hall of the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, posted @ 11:42 A.M.
