“Political Topics and Essays, Part DXLI: Bea discusses the Circus and the Kern County Fair and HOW Animal Rights Activists ruin not only the lives of those they oppose but also the Animals they claim to HELP” by Chef Bea O’Malley

In 1993, Pete Townshend released his next album, one that was another revisiting of his “Lifehouse” theme, the great rock opera that rather never was, one that flowed in and around with his work with the parent band, the Who.  It is not necessarily a ROCK album but one with sequences of actors speaking and a flowing dialogue through the music.  Pete demonstrated that among rock-and-roll songwriters, he was perhaps the most intense, deep, and productive because the well never seemed to go dry.  We urge you to buy this one, “Psychoderelict” (1993) by using our link to go to the world’s greatest online marketplace, Amazon.com—you will love it!

FALL SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,767 AT THE AICP-END

We had a Great Time at the Barnum & Bailey and the Ringling Brothers Circus here in Bakersfield, California, on September 12, 2015
Bakersfield, CA, 09-23-2015 Wednesday: A few weeks ago, we went into Bakersfield to see the Barnum & Bailey and Ringling Brothers Circus at the Rabobank Arena.  Boy, what a show, my family has gone to the circus for a long time and have always enjoyed it and this one was no different.  I have to say that every year, they change it all up and that is good because to see the same one repeatedly might grow tiresome.  However, some of the components are always there such as the dude in the tiger cage and the elephants but every year they bring in different acts from across the globe.  We had Mongolians this year with camels as well as horse troupe and all of them were exciting and a lot of fun.  The cost of merchandise and the food, well, that is another story, I realize they need to make money but hey, they could give us a break.
What is wrong with the Animal Rights Activists?  They give Liberalism a BAD Name…
That said, I grow irritated when the animal rights folks stand outside various events—whether it is the circus or the Kern County Fair—whining and sniveling about how the animal trainers treat the animals in their care.  You know, I am not stupid, if an elephant does not want to do something or does not like one of its handlers, that beast is not going to work with him or her or perform.  One cannot poke or prod an animal to ‘encourage’ him or her to do the show as if they do, that elephant is liable to go wild and put the fool’s head underneath its massive foot.  Have you never seen news footage in which, a herd of elephants—pissed off over something some dumb shopkeeper in a town in Thailand or Burma did to it/them—runs amuck tearing down stores, shops, and tossing people around as if they were straw.
Most Performing Animals are happy to perform…
You see, most animals will not perform if they do not like their human counterparts.  Whether it is the elephants, the tigers, or even the horses or the camels, those animals are not going to knuckle under and do a show if they do not want to do it.  We used to have a business come up to the Kern County Fair every year—which, by the way begins today with the Beach Boys in the Budweiser Pavilion—that offered elephant rides.  The business—“Have Trunk will Travel” or something to that effect—came here every year to the fair and gave elephant rides to the kids for a small fee.  Well, thanks to the animal rights activists, that is not going to happen anymore.
Do the Animal Rights Activists care that they ruin businesses and endanger the animals they say they are protecting?
You see, these smarmy little punks would come and protest the fair every single year, handing out literature and making nuisances of themselves.  I would ask them, “Why don’t you stand outside the Kern County Jail—they do far worse things to inmates there than do the elephant folks.”  They would say, ‘We are concerned only for the elephants because the trainers torture the animals, forcing them to do things they would never do or might not want to do.”  What a load of crap, try forcing an animal the size of a full-grown elephant to do something he or she does not want to do and you might have a scene such as what I have described goes on in Thailand.  The animal might go on a rampage and kill some fairgoers—that would not look good nor would the animals ever come back to town because their owners would go bankrupt paying for the damages but guess what—it never happens!
“Have Trunk will Travel” will not come back to the Kern County Fair out of fear for both its employees and its animals…
The good people of “Have Trunk will Travel” had to come before the Kern County Board of Supervisors to learn—earlier in the year—that they would no longer be welcome in three years.  You see, the stink from the animal rights activists was too much for the county and for the fair.  As for the elephant people, they decided they would not come back at all because vandals attacked their facilities, their trucks, trailers, and their other stuff making all sorts of damage way too costly for the business to afford.  No one is there to defend his or her rights and the sad thing is this: they said that if the animals do not work, then there is no way they can continue to feed and house the elephants if they are not working.  They also said that the beasts enjoy doing what they do because it gives them a sense of purpose.  If they cannot find someone to buy the animals, they might have to put them down—thank you, PETA, thank you Humane Society, I hope someone threatens YOU and carries out their threats.
PETA and the American Humane Society make me sick!
This is what has become of our world.  I am sad to say that the activists would rather see animals DEAD than doing something they do not feel they should be doing.  Barnum & Bailey and Ringling Brothers Circus is one of the main protectors of many endangered species such as Indian elephants, tigers, and other unique and beautiful animals.  Yet, do they get any credit for doing this?  No, of course not, to the PETA scumbags and the American Humane Society trash, they could care less nor do they care about the cost to humans or what happens to poor people, minorities, and others who languish in our jails and prison system, all they care about are the ‘poor elephants.’  Fuck them.
I wish some elephants would crush the bums standing outside the arenas protesting the ‘cruelty’ done to the animals…

PLEASE BUY ALL OF THE ALBUMS WE ADVERTISE AT AMAZON.COM!
PLEASE SEE MUSICAL ALBUMS AT THE END OF THE BLOG

Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.
We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms.
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
I hope that one day, the United States returns to the wonderful place it once was, not this everything in our face all the time telling us what we do or enjoy is WRONG.  I think most sane people know that circus and the fair animal trainers do not mistreat the animals as if they did, the animals might turn on them.  The circus happily showed off one of their prize elephants, one that was 58 years old and the leader of the herd.  She watched as one of her children performed for the kids and reminded me of a proud mama watching her child to make sure her human coworkers treated her with kindness and respect and that they did.  Gosh, sometimes I so wish the dimwits ruining our nation would step aside and that common sense would once again prevail.  To wish this is not a Democrat or a Republican thing; it is an AMERICAN thing.  Thanks for joining me this first day of fall 2015!  I will see you all tomorrow, bye.
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by the Who, John Entwhistle, Keith Moon, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, TEN YEARS AFTER, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.
As everyone knows, we love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thanks, my friends!

This is me, your host, back in the 1980’s when I was working at a restaurant in Wasco, CA, my hometown.  I joined the Chefs de Cuisine of Greater Bakersfield, ACF, not long after it was chartered and am still a member even though the chapter is no longer in operation.  I began working in foodservice in the late 1960’s, moved from Wasco, CA, to Monterey, CA, and then returned to my hometown in 2004.  I have been a foodserver, a Mixologist, and am a Certified Cook.  I am equally at home in both the kitchen and behind the bar (and on the floor, too).  My passions are numerous and my favorite is working in the bakery whenever I have had a chance.

  1. Today is the first day of the Fall Session 2015 and Bea takes a different tact in going after animal rights groups that drive businesses that have animals among their performers out of business. They protest until the people cannot stand it while undercover activists cause all sorts of problems, problems designed to throw well-intentioned people into ill repute and bankruptcy. Why should we allow them to get away with it? There is no reason any of us know so please, add your voice to this very important topic and let’s find a way to knock out both PETA and the American Humane Society before they end up destroying the circus. Please, join us today and give us your thoughts—we welcome everyone. / Posted by Chef Kilgore Randalini of the American Institute of Culinary Politics-Elemental News of the Day, posted @ 10:37 A.M.
