“Vacation Week, Day Number Twenty-Three: Moses talks about his Vacation but also about Dan Price of Gravity Payments and the Seattle Debacle as the Raise to $11 per hour has caused the Loss of 1,000 Foodservice Jobs” by Assistant Publisher Moses Scharbug III

The next CD by the Who is another compilation of sorts, containing rare, unreleased, or alternative versions of preexisting songs.  “Odds-n-Sods” hit record store shelves in 1974.  Bassist John Entwhistle was in charge of the project while Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, and Keith Moon were hard at work on the “Tommy” film project.  The album contained some early singles, knock-offs/covers or music from Pete Townshend’s aborted “Lifehouse” project.  Later incarnations of the album would add more and more tunes but the original contained about 11 tunes, all of which are of interest to avid Who fans.  We highly recommend this CD to the readership and know that if you use our link to go to Amazon.com to pick it up, you will be glad you did—thank you!

SUMMER SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,731 AT THE AICP-END

The River Walk in San Antonio, Texas is absolutely exquisite…
Bakersfield, CA, 08-18-2015 Tuesday: San Antonio has a splendid River Walk, a place where one can traipse along and see and to do a variety of things such as eat, drink, and be merry.  Tomorrow, we will hit the road taking the U.S. Interstate 10 for the 7-10 hour trip to El Paso, Texas.  I am grateful that my family and I are able to do this because at my age, it is sort of like the last hurrah.  My health has been in decline over the past few years, granted, most of it because of how I treat my body, drinking, smoking cigars, doing things a man of my age should not be doing.  To my doctors, I tell them, “What the hell—this is my life and I shall live it in whatever way I so choose.  Besides, if I need to buy a liver from a Mexican or a North Korean body shop, I will damned well do it.”
There is something for us to say about having ‘money’—such as obtaining body organs if one needs them—except from aborted babies!
Nah, that is just a joke, friends, I would never rob anyone of their liver, I am not Planned Parenthood, there are organs available to a man such as myself unless, of course, Obamacare stands in the way.  I do not want to sound like I am a heartless snob but let us face the facts: the designers of Obamacare made it so those of us who have money cannot go out and find a doctor, give them a large portion of that cash and then to buy a heart, lungs, kidneys, and/or a liver.  Obama seems to feel that people with money are EVIL, the way I see it, we folks with money make the world go-round.  We give people jobs, we BUY loads of stuff, we do what we want, take trips, go places, and every Goddamned place we go, we SPEND lots of money—this keeps people employed.
Wealth provides benefits to many other people, namely to those lacking it…
To listen to an old schmuck such as Bernie Sanders—you know the socialist senator from the ‘people’s republic of Vermont’—tell it, people with money are EVIL.  He believes that we need to have a ‘Robin Hood tax’ that will rob those with wealth so he can then redistribute it to the poor, the needy, and to the illegals.  The way I see it, we live in a time that is definitely unfair to those who have achieved success in his or her lifetimes, thanks to nonstop liberalism that eats away at the nation, as does a ravenous cancer of one’s intestines.  Liberals feel they must give money to EVERYONE who has none but is seeking it and that whoever has said money must give it to the government in order to equal up the columns of the various national classes.  The things Senator Sanders wants to do—and now which, Hillary Clinton parrots—such as providing free four-year college funding to all who qualify will bankrupt the nation.  It is crazy as is the white-haired commie senator, the things the Dems want to do will transform the U.S. into fricking Venezuela.
Bernie Sanders is ‘crazy’; however, he is a real threat from the Left
I believe people must qualify for things such as a college education because it separates the serious from the ones unwilling to expend the labor to put themselves in that capacity.  Besides, we know economic boons such as Pell Grants find their way to prison inmates and illegal aliens more so than they do hardworking, lower middle class and middle class American students.  To me, that certainly is not correct, nor is it the way to go but Senator Sanders knows there is a large chunk of Americans who believe in the government growing ever larger and funding everything they want to do.  The problem is, once one puts his or her hands out to the government, they find themselves enslaved to that government—the government will never let them go.
Let us take the example of Dan Price of Gravity Payments: raising everyone to $70,000 per year has been a disaster for not only his business but also for HIM
Take for instance the backlash of two recent stories, the one on Dan Price of Gravity Payments while the other is the backlash in Seattle, Washington, over the rising minimum wage to $15 per hour and the loss of 1,000 restaurant jobs when the rising wage hit the $11 per hour mark.  Both of them demonstrate that good intentions have negative backlashes associated with them, ones that can destroy either a city or a business.  Mr. Price gave EVERY employee a raise from whatever crap wages they were making to $70,000 per year at his credit card clearinghouse because he felt it would make all of them more secure and better workers; however, that was NOT the case.  He lost employees and for those who remained, their debts readjusted to the same amounts only higher ones that leaves them in the same boat of NEEDING more and more money to keep afloat.  What’s more, Mr. Price rents out his home so he can keep HIS head above the roiling waters—how frigging sad is that.
Seattle has seen the loss of ONE-THOUSAND Foodservice Jobs…
As for the debacle in Seattle, when the rising minimum wage hit $11 per hour (on its way up to $15 per hour), restaurants in that city cut loose 1,000 employees with more to follow.  Anyone who knows anything about the world of professional foodservice knows that the profit margins are low and the debts are excruciatingly high.  That is not to say that some foodservice owners don’t squander money because there are always unscrupulous business owners but for most, having to pay people such as one’s floor staff $11-to-$15 per hour PLUS allowing them to keep tips is untenable and will cause MORE workers to lose their jobs as time passes.  All of this the people involved could have avoided had they used some common sense and left their liberalism at the door.  Go figure!
We cannot listen to the ‘heart,’ we must listen to common sense, folks!

PLEASE BUY ALL OF THE ALBUMS WE ADVERTISE AT AMAZON.COM!
PLEASE SEE MUSICAL ALBUMS AT THE END OF THE BLOG
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.
We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms.
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
I have to say that dining at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse here in Texas is simply amazing; the steaks come straight from the stockyards and the butchers to the dining room table.  There is nothing such as a sizzling steak glaring at the diner sitting there slavering over one’s dinner, granted, I realize there are Ruth’s Chris around the country but here in Texas, there is something very special about it.  If you know your history, you know beef cattle came predominantly from Texas and moved north to Kansas, Nebraska, and the other slaughterhouses in the great American cattle drives of the 19th Century, something that made America “America.”
In closing, have a great day, tomorrow, we will be on U.S. Interstate 10, westbound to El Paso.  I think the driving time is between 7-8 hours but when you have old folks such as Lucinda and me aboard the motor home, we still enjoy getting out and hitting a REAL bathroom and occasionally a roadhouse for a beer, two, or more.  God bless and keep the faith, we will continue our saga tomorrow, the GOOD LORD WILLING.
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by the Who, John Entwhistle, Keith Moon, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, SAVOY BROWN, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.
As everyone knows, we love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thank you!

  1. Moses springs back today from being somewhat sluggish yesterday but who can blame him?—the man is in his 80s. Anyhow, he shares his thoughts on dining at the Ruth’s Chris Steak House in the gorgeous cities of San Antonio/Austin, Texas, a great place if ever there was one. Tomorrow, the family will be back on the road, heading westbound on the U.S. Interstate 10 bound for El Paso. Today’s topic has to do with the growing numbers for socialist Bernie Sanders who wants to steal OUR money so he can redistribute it to those who lack the drive to go out and make their own. What’s more, if we have the money to replace let’s say, our liver because we have drank a lot of booze over the course of our lives, that is OUR business provided we can find a donor. Moses does not condone robbing the unborn of their organs for God knows what purpose either but that is a topic for another day. He discusses the sad plight of socialist Dan Price, the man who owns Gravity Payments, a company suffering because of its owner’s desire to raise the salaries of ALL of his workers to $70,000 per year. Talk about a snafu, folks, he also shares his thoughts on the financial and employment disaster in Seattle as the Emerald City seeks to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour. Hitting $11 per hour on its way up has already cost 1,000 foodservice workers their jobs, how much more financial and economic stupidity can we suffer before we as a nation say, “ENOUGH!” At least, this is what Moses Scharbug has to say. If you ask me, raising the minimum wage more than a dollar at a time invites economic disaster, something our nation and small business owners seriously do not need. Please, join us today, share your thoughts and ideas, we welcome input from EVERY ONE—including the City of Seattle and Dan Price!
