SPRING SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,647 AT THE AICP-END

Bonnie Raitt recently performed in town—what a show!
Bakersfield, CA, 05-26-2015 Tuesday: Hello again, I have to say if you do not live in Bakersfield, California, such as I do, you miss out on numerous entertainment events.  In the past couple of weeks, we have had performances by Bonnie Raitt at the Fox Theater downtown as well as the Average White Band at the Bright House Amphitheater on the west side of town.  At the Rabobank a week ago today, we had the Eagles blow into town and do a lengthy show.  Then, this past weekend, we had the biggest one-day rock-and-roll festival anyone has seen in decades, one that featured more top acts all in one place.  We have top comedians come to town as we do country and western artists, hell, I was lucky enough to see all of these and Merle Haggard at the Fox Theater, too.  We are on the upswing and we have more shows coming to town such as Firefall, Hotel California, and God knows who else at the Kern County Fair later this year--we always have great acts—my husband and I are hoping Tower of Power will return.
Bakersfield, California, has many entertainment venues of all types
We also saw a recent double bill at the Fox featuring the Stylistics and the Dramatics, both on stage, one after the other as well as two openers, a local group and Men at Large, two thunderous dudes who got up there and sang soul from the bottom of their hearts. Bakersfield, California, is enjoying a renaissance of sorts; we had Fleetwood Mac come to town as we did the Marvel Superheroes Universe show at the Rabobank Arena.  We have a flourishing art scene complete with galleries, art exhibits, live music in a number of places across town, and all sorts of other things.  In fact, the recent rock festival at Pioneer Village featured a classic car show, art exhibits, a farmers’ market of sorts and all sorts of other local, state, and national displays.  We had people drive from as far away as Maine, Ohio, Georgia, and Florida, all coming to spend the Memorial Day weekend here in Bakersfield.
People came from across the Country to attend the One-Day Rock-and-Country Festival on Memorial Day at Pioneer Village
The one thing we are hoping might happen is that the Who will come here in the fall.  They are performing down in Los Angeles in September and we hope that perhaps they will find time to stop in and do a show.  Some acts come at the last moment while others we know about six months in advance.  They could pack the Rabobank Arena and bring excitement and great joy to a community that will welcome them with open hearts; we hope that negotiations are ongoing as we speak because they would be the cherry on top of the sundae.
Meanwhile, however, the Democrats continue raping the State…
Enough of me sharing my heart with you about what a great thing it is to live here in Bakersfield, something that makes it suck is the fact that state government—all controlled by the flipping Democrats—is the fact that environmentalism wins out over sanity as does Governor Brown’s high-speed rail.  South of the San Francisco Bay area, south of the delta, we who grow most of the food the nation consumes continue going without water even though it flows from the mountains, out through the Bay and into the ocean.  The reason it does this is to protect an invasive species, the Delta Smelt, one that is disappearing as rapidly as you can read this post.  The environmentalists would rather see every human being die from thirst, from hunger, than to find a way to protect the smelt from clogging the intakes that send water flowing south through a network of canals.
The Southern San Joaquin Valley WAS the Breadbasket of the World…
We in the San Joaquin Valley, the breadbasket of much of the nation, have to cut back our water by more than 36-percent.  Worse, the farmers leave fields fallow for lack of water but due to contracts signed with the government in Sacramento, they have to pay full-price for water they do not receive because they will lose their farms if they do not.  They must pay full-price for water that the governor will not send south and must stop depleting the groundwater supply by stopping using wells on their property.  Yet, the farmers who sell out and leave for better environs sell their land to developers who build homes, schools, swimming pools, shopping centers, and all other vestiges atop the once productive ground.  Where does the water come from to provide to these new homes, no one seems to be able to provide an answer to the question as to WHERE it emanates?  It is the same thing as it is with electric cars--WHERE, OH, WHERE does the electricity come with which to charge the cars--no one seems to know.
…where does the Water for all the New Homes emanate?
We in California enjoy what we have while we have it.  We who live here in the valley love our entertainment as it allows us to forget the sad circumstances of life.  Some believe that since the region is a conservative one, the Democrats running Sacramento have it out for us.  We do not want high-speed rail destroying our scenic city nor do we want to kowtow to the environmentalists who tell us we cannot build dams or repair existing ones because it ‘harms the environment.’  At some point, the people will rise up, put a stop to all this tomfoolery and vote the scumbags out of office.  Better yet, if we could do them the way the bootleggers of Boardwalk Empire do it to one another, it will be a glorious day, have no doubt about it.   That will do it for today.
We need to massacre the Politicians at the Ballot Box in November 2016…

THEN AND NOW—THE BEST OF PROCOL HARUM
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.  We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
DAY OF THE EAGLE—BEST OF ROBIN TROWER
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
STATE TO STATE—LIVE ACROSS AMERICA 1973-1980
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms!

INSIDE-OUTSIDE LIVE—THE BEST OF LIVE AND IN THE STUDIO
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
THE BEST OF PROCOL HARUM
People have to ask themselves what the heck has gone awry here in the once-Golden State.  At one time, we were the best state in the union until the Democrats managed to win every statewide office.  They are doing to us what their ilk has done to some of the nation’s great cities, cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, and New York.  One would think people would open their eyes, smell the bullshit, and throw the bums out but no one seems to do so.  Instead, they lecture us, telling us that Climate Change is threatening our way of life, making terrorists run amuck across the Middle East and elsewhere, tell these lies to our kids and grandchildren, if ever there was a reason to pack up and move to the Bahamas that time is now.  You know, that might not be such a bad idea, maybe a move to the Bahamas would be a lovely thing, perhaps I mention this thought to husband, Henry, being a top chef and all, he could get a sweet job in one of the grand hotels.  I will bring it up the next time we have some time off, let me know your thoughts on it.  Love you all, we will meet again tomorrow.  Bye!
GOLDEN TIMES
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Gary Brooker, Matthew Fisher, James Dewar, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.  We love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thank you!

  1. Goldie discusses the wonderful entertainment scene we have here in Bakersfield, California, we have top music acts, concerts, comedians, and even a major one-day rock festival in which, we had more than 25 top music acts from across the world. We have art galleries, local art galleries, theater, and live music in numerous bars and lounges, all the while the Democrats destroy the state through their insane environmental policies and their allegiance to the national Democrat Party. What the nation sees happening here is what has happened to cities such as Detroit, Baltimore, New York, and every other large, liberal-run city in the nation. It is a recipe for flipping disaster and yet, it continues unabated, people, we need to begin booting these SOBS out of office as quickly as possible. Next year, we will either save the state or lose it; it will depend on every Californian no matter their party affiliations, their political philosophies, or their personal beliefs. Let us save California together before it sets the tone for the rest of the nation as it always does. Thanks for joining us today, we welcome your thoughts and hope that you will share them with not only us but also the world—thank you!
