“Political Topics and Essays, Part CDLXVI: Chef Murph is pleased to be back and begins discussing some of the Problems we see afflicting the United States and asks a pertinent question: WHY did Barack Obama squander his chance to help the country?” by Chef Murph MacDougal

The next CD by Robin Trower, “BBC Radio 1 Live,” (1995) is one we overlooked in our ongoing discography as will be most of the CDs we will offer from today until the last day of the month.  This normally is how it is for us at the AICP-END; we research the CDs by a particular group and find most of them by using their discography but lo and behold—there are always others that pop up, prior to us ending their run.  This CD is a great one featuring Trower and band at their best—in the middle of the 1970’s—so we promote this CD wholeheartedly.  There are ten classic tracks here all from the legendary BBC Radio in Britain, which means it is a GREAT CD so please—take the link we provide you here to go to Amazon.com and pick it up in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you—you will thank us for recommending it to you!

SPRING SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,639 AT THE AICP-END

It is that time again, friends!
Bakersfield, CA, 05-18-2015 Monday: Well, hello again, my friends, it is indeed very good to be back as nothing ever seems to change when it comes to the news.  We have racism; we have violence in the streets of inner cities and elsewhere across the nation.  People are angry at one another, no one is happy, and the politicians continue stirring stuff up all to the benefit of themselves but never for ‘we the people.’  What we have seen in Baltimore, Maryland, has been outrageous just as the murder of the two cops in Mississippi riles the blood, too.  I hate to say it but it sure seems that we as a nation are on a definite downhill slide; perhaps the time is now for more Libertarianism than the same old Democrat-RINO wars.
San Luis Obispo, California, does not experience what we see happening elsewhere in America…
I live in San Luis Obispo and have lived there most of my life and I have to tell you, our town seldom sees the sorts of things we see in major cities, especially back east.  People seem to get along around here, we do live in a very beautiful place, a place where the breezes smell fresh, the flowers bloom almost all year, and people smile and greet one another when they pass in the street.  I guess that I live in a big fat slice of paradise, a place where everything seems to be green and not too far away lie some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  Head north a half or so away and one hits Morro Bay, the big chunk of granite standing tall from the midst of the Pacific Ocean while the world around it has fallen by the wayside.  Head south, you hit Pismo Beach, Grover City, Oceano, and Arroyo Grande, all lovely places in which to spend some leisure time.
If you want to spend time in a lovely place, take in Pismo Beach, California…
Whenever I come to Bakersfield (Oildale where our executive offices are), I head south a short ways, then cut across the Coastal Range until I enter Maricopa and then Taft.  It takes me about 90 minutes to make the drive, which at night is far easier than it is in the daytime.  Granted, heading in the back way to Bakersfield is somewhat of a depressing drive because there is not much out on the western fringes of Kern County other than oil derricks, scrubland, and ugliness.  That is why I feel privileged to live near the coast, we get all the benefits with half the cost of actually living ON it and besides, San Luis Obispo is as close as one can come to a beach town located off the beach.
What is up with First Lady Michelle Obama—have we not had enough RACISM already without getting even more?
Anyhow, I have no idea what the heck is taking place across the nation.  The First Lady Michelle Obama is out there pounding the race card into our heads day-after-day.  What she recently did at the grand opening of a museum in which, she said that ‘people such as she with the color of her skin are “not welcome” in places such as this.’  One has to wonder, ‘have I somehow ended up in the Twilight Zone?’  We have the first nonwhite president ruling the country in the entire history of the nation, something we all mostly celebrated at the time.  Many of us thought that ‘wow, we have finally crossed the Great Divide in American history, what this man can NOT accomplish if we but give him a chance?’
Many thought Barack Obama was the answer to America’s racist past whereas now, we know it was just a pipe dream…
Well, it seems that we know what he can accomplish NOW, something, which, I wish we had known back in 2008.  Libertarians typically vote for those who believe in freedom for all and to some, it seemed that perhaps Barack Obama was the way to go.  I did not agree with them at the time and now am glad that I did not because all I have seen in the past six years is a great deal of misery, blame, devastation, and destruction.  That is right, the president has done a great job of deconstructing the country but the question to ask is “WHY?”
We must ask ourselves “WHY?”
We shall talk about many things this week but the main thing you need to know is that the blog will begin undergoing changes.  We want to make it much more reader-friendly and so will shorten the posts and then on the weekends, present the CDs we promote at Pinterest and elsewhere as well as Beverly Carrick original artworks, and maybe some re-posts or favorite posts from elsewhere across the blogosphere.  I suspect that since we are approaching the Summer Session 2015, we will begin doing the BEST political cartoons, too, as politics are not yet ready to heat up in full-swing just yet.  I hope you will join me throughout the week and that you will leave me some comments.  Thanks, let us head on out!
You will see changes occurring to the blog as we move along…

A SALTY DOG RETURNS
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.  We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
ROOTS AND BRANCHES
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
A TALE UNTOLD—THE CHRYSALIS YEARS 1973-1976 BOX SET
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms!
FARTHER ON UP THE ROAD—THE CHRYSALIS YEARS 1977-1983 BOX SET
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
COMPENDIUM 1987-2013
I have to tell you, last week, Jaz McKay reported that George Zimmerman was involved in ‘problems’ when someone shot at him in a fit of either road rage or from a feud.  What is it with that man, why can he not seem to remain trouble-free?  Look at that worthless slut Casey Anthony; the bitch who murdered her young daughter down in Florida, NO one ever hears from her so why can’t Georgie boy stay the heck out of trouble?  I have no idea, some people seem tied to problems once they go down the wrong path in life.  One day, someone is going to shoot that fool and then our “Rob Ford” will be gone.  Have a good one; I will see you all tomorrow—bye!

The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Gary Brooker, Matthew Fisher, James Dewar, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.  We love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thank you, my friends!

This is a picture of me when I was a young chef in the kitchen back in 1975. I apprenticed underneath my father and spent six years working for him in his British-Irish restaurant in Fresno, California. I later moved to Frazier Park, California, and spent quite a few years working in the area and that is where I met Stinkbug. Anyhow, I am now working at a country club over on the coast near San Luis Obispo.
