“Political Topics and Essays, Part CDLXI: Hector discusses the alarming Situation in Baltimore, how State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby may have thrown Charges against the Wall hoping that something will stick” by Chef Hector “El Chilote” Santanamos

The next CD by Matthew Fisher came out in 2012: “A Salty Dog Returns” (2012), featuring the legendary organist doing what he did back in the day when he was both a friend and a member of Procol Harum.  This album, however, is his latest solo CD and not a remake of any Procol CD so we suggest that for those who love Matthew’s music and his vocal style will seek it out at Amazon.com so you can get it in the format, the condition, and the price that is right for you.

SPRING SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,634 AT THE AICP-END

The Black Community in America is in a State of Flux…
Bakersfield, CA, 05-13-2015 Wednesday: Amigos, we have seen some distressing things happening in various parts of the country, things that have stirred up a great deal of civil unrest between various groups of humanity, most of which are sadly within the black communities of the inner cities.  What happened in Baltimore, Maryland, with the death of Freddie Gray and the subsequent filing of charges against SIX officers by Maryland State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby should set everyone who believes in social justice teeth on edge.  Included in the six police officers are three black officers and three white ones, the most serious charge falling on the black officer who drove the van the day of Mr. Gray’s injury and subsequent death.  How are any of these officers going to receive fair trials and how is the community going to achieve justice?
If the Baltimore Police Department did indeed ‘murder’ Freddie Gray, then they must pay the price…
At the time of this writing, the autopsy report of Mr. Gray’s death has not yet come out for the public to scrutinize.  If Ms. Mosby charged the officers with excessive charges hoping something is going to stick to the wall, as does a strand of spaghetti and they get off, the entire community is going to explode like a roadside bomb lying on the road to Baghdad.  The people of not only Baltimore but other cities across the fruited plain are all going to run amuck in the streets, destroying buildings and businesses, attacking people and police officers, and no one is going to achieve any sort of ‘justice’ other than destroying their communities.  Burning down one’s own neighborhood makes no frigging sense to me, I thought that lower income Americans understood that what happened in the Watts Riots of I believe 1965 was that it made no sense to destroy one’s own home area.  The people living in Watts still live in devastating poverty because very few have returned to their community to rebuild what the residents’ grandparents and great-grandparents burnt down back in the 1960’s.
…however, if they did NOT, then Marilyn Mosby must pay the price for overcharging the six officers…
I realize there are many out there who still pine away that no charges hit former Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson for the death of Michael Brown.  However, not one investigation but THREE I believe dug into the events of last summer and found that Officer Wilson did nothing deserving of charges because Mike Brown—high on pot and fresh from robbing and smacking around a shopkeeper—failed to comply with the cop’s commands and then chose to attack him.  If the Justice Department under then Attorney-General Eric Holder could find nothing to charge Officer Wilson, then you know they found absolutely NO evidence with which, the AG and his bevy of lawyers could charge the officer either—that should warn everyone away from even attempting to charge him.
If Eric Holder could find NOTHING to charge Officer Darren Wilson with in the death of Michael Brown, then there was no evidence that Officer Wilson ‘murdered’ the young black American male…
Yet, both the officer’s life and those of the people living in Ferguson changed forever.  If the cop did nothing then he should have been able to resume his duties and to take his chances with the people of the city.  All too often when a jury finds no charges warranted against an officer or even a perp, they still pay the price--just as O. J. Simpson has paid the price all because people believe he murdered his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman—something of which, the jury acquitted him in the criminal trial.  If you ask me, yes, I believe O. J. or one of his cronies wielded the knife that night but getting off the murder case was no reason for the authorities in Las Vegas, Nevada, to send him to prison over a stupid ‘crime’ for the number of years they did.  I do not see the black community out there protesting Mr. Simpson’s sentence nor do I see the Justice Department or Barack Obama for that matter seeking to gain his release either—no one cares about him.
You cannot make someone PAY for something that he or she did not do or might have done before—look at O. J. Simpson—sitting in jail over a nothing crime because of having gotten off in the murder trial…
Back to the mess in Baltimore, first, I do not believe that it will come to trial any time soon as I suppose the state’s attorney is going to do her best to force the cops to agree to some minimal plea deal.  That’s right, she has very little to go after the cops on murder charges, especially if the fellow passenger of Mr. Gray—the man on the other side of the police wagon’s partition headed to jail along with Gray—said Mr. Gray was thrashing around on his own.  Cops in Charm City have arrested Freddie Gray for various offenses—most of them drug-related—more times than anyone I know so it would make sense that he might have been high on some sort of powerful stimulant, therefore the thrashing around in the wagon.  What will Ms. Mosby do when the autopsy more or less acquits the cops?  Take to the streets and join with the rioters—it sure seems as though she is more on their side than she is on the side of the law. She must be a second-generation child of the flipping 1960’s!
If the Six Cops beat the Rap in Baltimore, will Ms. Mosby take to the streets with the rioters?
In closing for today, what I see is a difficult situation for the state’s attorney and a big win-win for the cops.  I suspect that as in most other incidents, the grand jury or the trial jury—especially if the trial moves somewhere else—is going to side with the cops.  Unless there is sufficient evidence in the heretofore-unseen autopsy report definitively showing that the cops jumped up and down on the spine of Freddie Gray and split it open like oxtails, all signs point to Mr. Gray being high on dope and causing his own death.  I realize the cops in Baltimore have a ‘history’ of ‘rough rides’ meaning they drive like shit tossing their passengers around like chafe in the wind in the back of the paddy wagon.  However, if one sees the photos of the back of the van, one realizes that if the passenger is not seat-belted to the bench that all he or she has to do is to lie on the floor of the vehicle, hoping for the best.  It seems to me that it would be very tough to toss someone about unless the van plummeted off a bridge or something such as that and we know that that certainly did NOT happen.
Until the world has the opportunity to see the autopsy report, anything the state’s attorney has said means NOTHING

As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.  We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
THE SPIRIT OF NØKKEN
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
THE PLAYFUL HEART
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms!

I want to clarify something about my point of authoring my blogs.  Last year, my family moved down from Mukilteo, Washington, to live in Shafter, California, about 25 miles or so north of Bakersfield, California--the home of this blog—so we could reside here in this state for good.   You see, my family and I own a restaurant up in Washington State but have also moved down here to California so my wife and I could buy a retirement home and to also open a second restaurant within the city of Shafter.  I go back and forth between Kern County and Mukilteo so I still author some of my posts there but soon will be doing all of them in the charming city of Shafter, named after a Civil War general or such.
Anyhow, in conclusion or at least for the time being, I will still promote the AM station in Mukilteo where we pick up the Rush Limbaugh show since that is one of the requirements of writing for the best foodservice-political blog in the world just as we have to read the local newspaper, too.  I have no problem that Stinkbug enjoys promoting the fat toad Limbaugh because it is after all his blog just as I have no problem that he calls the presidency of Barack Obama a ‘dictatorship’ elsewhere in the blog as it does sometime seem like one.  Sometimes, I have to admit that it truly does seems as such, a belief that does not endear me with fellow Democrats who are FAR out there living on the edge.
Something tells me that Hillary Clinton is not going to be in the race for very long…
Well, let me say this to you: have a great day; we will pick up tomorrow morning at 08:30 a.m.  Adios, buy some merchandise and leave me some comments, I welcome all of them! What’s more, please send your friends our way and check out the phenomenal merchandise we advertise here at this blog, stuff no one else except people MY age love and enjoy.  Soon, I believe we will begin presenting the CDs we promote at sites such as Pinterest and Facebook on Saturday and Sunday every week as few people are around on the weekends-especially in the summertime!  Besides, this is NOT yet an ‘election year,’ it is a build-up to an ‘election year’ and something tells me that Hillary Clinton is not going to be in the race much longer—ay Dios Madre! See you manana!
A SALTY DOG RETURNS
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Gary Brooker, Matthew Fisher, James Dewar, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.  We love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Muchas gracias, buen amigos!

  1. What is going to happen in Baltimore, Maryland, if State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby cannot come up with convictions seeing as how the charges are damned specific and include murder charges? Perhaps she handed out the number of charges she did hoping to quell the disturbances that took place in the streets a couple of weeks ago or perhaps, she thinks she can honestly convict the cops? I believe that most likely Ms. Cosby is going to fall short, which will lead to renewed violence in the streets because she has built them up for a major fall. I suspect that she hopes the cops will take various plea deals or will turn on one another leaving the black cops ‘innocent’ while convicting the white cops to make the community happy. No matter what happens, I expect that nothing will occur for about three years giving the folks of Charm City time to cool down and then when it does, the authorities will sweep it under the rug. The only thing that is sad is that if a jury ultimately acquits the cops, it will deprive them of several years’ worth of work and will make them practically un-hirable, as is Ferguson, Missouri, former Officer Darren Wilson, the man investigated and let off the hook for shooting Michael Brown. What is the world coming to when we can never find the underlying cause of these sorts of events and that one leads to another and yet another similar event? Hector Santanamos
